There's no reason to have him rework his current contract when you can just cut him at the end of the season and re-sign him to a new deal. He either wants to be here or he doesn't. Why take on the risk of having dead cap space with a reworked contact for a WR that's already 32? That's part of the reason we even got into cap trouble.

This is such nonsense and literally doesn't make any sense. There's zero chance the compensation would ever be that high for what would be a 1 year rental. Also, the deal can't happen unless the Raiders eat a lot of his contract so the whole reworking of the contract talk wouldn't even be an option here.

And for the hoarding of draft picks comment, we have 8 picks which includes what looks like a late 2nd rounder from the Vikings (which could be helpful) and an extra 4th and 6th.
