Jets-Broncos live Game Thread
Just in Atlanta replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tebow and the Broncos made the Jets look bad, which is what I thought they were before they played us. Tebow might be the most ugliest-playing but most-fun player to watch in the NFL right now. The look on Rex's face after that TD is priceless. -

+1 Wishbone, baby. Expect a band to come out playing 7 Nation Army any moment now... -
Don't see us beating the Jets. We have to sweep the Fins. Pats game will be brutal but it's winable. I think we'll own the AFC West. If we do make the playoffs, I also don't expect us to win a game. But to me, it's playoffs or bust. Been way too long. In 10 years of watching this team, there's only been two seasons in which we've had a chance. Fewer good players will want to come here next season if we don't make a wildcard IMO.

I'm a capitalist and all, but sharing a little wealth would be cool. You've had four or five, we've had none. -

Don't know which team you're a fan of, but thanks! (Packers, maybe?) I still have hope we'll make the playoffs, but I believe Miami is do or die. Don't see any chance for this team if we don't win this Sunday with such as tough division and having lost a tiebreaker to the Bengals. If you are a Pack fan, Rodgers is simply amazing to watch. He is the most complete QB I have seen in 20 years of watching football. Would be very cool if next season the Bills and Packers played in the Big Game. Two small market teams and all. Only this time, the Bills actually pulling it off and all... -
Do you honestly care about sports?
Just in Atlanta replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love the NFL. Watch every game I can, especially AFC games, and have only missed one Bills game in two years (out of disgust last year in the second week after they started Edwards). As for college football, and a Georgia alum, not really a fan, but I do watch key SEC matchups and a bowl game or two. Haven't watched an NBA game in years. Zero interest. Hockey--not into it but appreciate the game. Love live games. Don't know anything about the Sabres. Grew up with my family watching the Rangers. Baseball--World Series only, and only if it's good, like this past one. I'd like to get more into the Braves, but haven't had that drive like I do with the NFL. Mostly because of the lackluster fanbase for professional teams in Atlanta, I think. If I lived in Boston or NY, I'd probably be into baseball a lot more. Oh, and tennis--great game to play but watching it nowadays is boring IMO. Just power shots and too few volleys. 80s were better. Haven't seen anyone mention soccer. That's awesome. -
Dear Chan Gailey: Bunch formation. Do it. Sincerely, TBD

Can't believe you responded seriously to this shroom-induced rant. Agree with you though. Nothing wrong with Brad Smith, nor should his parents not have reproduced. We haven't used him right yet, and when we've have, he was a third-down-conversion machine. And Spiller will be used successfully somewhere...hopefully here. As I said in another post, these guys are like multi-million dollar books you have on your bookshelf that you've never read. Time to give them a shot. -

Does it show we finally have a pulse or that we're flatlining? Can go either way. Nevermind, we're flatlining. -
Poll: The Bills' No. 1 Solution
Just in Atlanta replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I think Eric Wood was wearing my grandma's Keds sneakers. That's why he got hurt. Cheap bastards, can't even outfit their players with cleats. Having said that, we do seem to be having an above-average amount of injuries. I'd like to see some data supporting or disproving this. Causes for injuries: Maybe it's a normal amount. Or, maybe, the lockout. Or, other teams have just been tougher. I don't think it's equipment. -
This week is do or die. Two weeks ago many of us, myself included, were debating whether we'd win the AFC East. Now many of us, myself included, have no idea whether we have what it takes to beat the Fins.

Poll: The Bills' No. 1 Solution

Not the answer. A solution. We have one week, two at most, to turn this ship around. -
Poll: The Bills' No. 1 Solution

Fixed. See poll. Seems that's what the Pats did to the Jets to prevent defenders from locking on, so bunch formations seems valid. As for turnovers, that's a result, not a solution. If that were the case, I'd say "score more touchdowns." -
Poll: The Bills' No. 1 Solution

This is a post on immediate solutions to our woes. Drafting is irrelevant for any (longshot) possibility of making the playoffs this year. Spiller/Smith is a legitimate possibility. This team still has a chance. We all know we need to draft more talent next year. -
We have a lot of problems right now. But many problems are not fixable. One is. What is the No. 1 thing we can do that will make us respectable? Sorry for not providing more options on D. I can't think of anything else that will make it better. Firing George Edwards ain't going to happen though, and I'm not even sure it should. Given our weak D, we need to start scoring points again and hope we can continue getting INTs. Fitz does need to be more accurate. But I don't think that alone will improve things much. Count me in for a tentative No. 2, although play action is a close second choice. Seems like adding two playmakers in the mix would be an easy fix as opposed to changing offensive philosophies.

Bills could go 6-2 in the 2nd half of the season
Just in Atlanta replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish this thread would go away. Painful to see it after having such high hopes after Washington. If we don't beat Miami, it's over. We would have a chance if we were in the AFC West, but since we're in the AFC East, we have to destroy, not just beat, Miami. One more week of hope, fellas. -

Fitz' beard has more skill, desire and intelligence than Billy Joe "I didn't read the playbook" Hobert.    -
An informed opinion on our offense is needed

Thank you. Agree with it all. Run and play action all the way. Despite one poster's rambling opinion that Smith should never have been born, I am of the belief that he can be a weapon...if he's used...which he isn't...even though he should...kind of like Spiller. They're both like fancy books on your bookshelf you've never read. Only these books cost millions. -
I like Phil Simms, but I also heard that ridiculous statement. Ball was thrown perfectly.

So far, the solutions on this board to fix our offensive woes include: Firing the defensive coordinator. Giving the rock to Freddy more, whose already getting 100 yards a game. (Maybe that's all we got, though, so the solution is acknowledged.) Going back in time to prevent Brad Smith from ever being born. If that's the extent of our solutions, we clearly need more cowbell. -

Not quite the informed opinion I was planning on either. -
Maybe Fitz can invent a teleportation device to get the ball from his hands into receivers hands, because he's going to be getting guys in his face in miliseconds. This blows.

Saw a CBS analysis on why we've been failing on O. Basically, DCs know our line is weak and can't sustain long plays, so they're jamming our WRs on the line, creating extra time to disrupt plays. Makes sense. Since we're lacking a physical receiver, it's been working. So now, with Wood injured, where do we go from here on O? We were able to put out amazing offensive performances with a weak o line. Now that the cat's out of the bag, and I do believe it's as simple as that, how do we adjust? Our D is as good as it's going to get. But I refuse to believe it's over for our O, especially since I believe in our core group of guys. Some thoughts: More Wildcat. On key plays, Smith can scramble, create extra time for a pass, and of course run. We've abandoned this. More speedy Spiller. Why does Chan REFUSE to use him?. If our pass is shut down, we need to run it down their throats--up the middle and the side. Jasper at OG. We're desperate if we've lost Wood. We're getting a bit desperate now, but it's hardly over...We're only the second team in line for a wildcard. But the above solutions are only a patch. Is there something else we can do? I don't believe it's just a lack of execution, although it would be great if it were. Looking for informed answers from people who know we aren't awesome or think the sky has fallen.
