What happens if The Bills lose Thursday?
zonabb replied to first_and_ten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They're gonna lose, bank on it. This has all the making of an embarrassing blowout.Short week, on the road, after a crushing victory, a defense that is probably psychologically deflated, an offense that can't find its way and is constantly outcoached, play makers are hurt... 31-14 Dolphins. At least the water taxi will be fun. -
Why is he still on the team? Guy continues to be the most inconsistent player and when he's off, which is often, he's a liability. "He's prone to mental lapses" is an understatement! And his "guarantee" for Thursday is about right for this joker.

Jameis Winston accused of point shaving
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd take manziel right now. Is he an arrogant entitled punk? Yep. So was everyone's beloved #12. Both had a undying hatred of losing which yup can't teach. Manziel may have sold some autographs but that's not a crime. Stealing crablegs and allegedly raping a coed makes Winston a criminal and social deviant. Throw in the move he made on campus and this allegation and this kid is closer to Maurice Clarett and Travis Henry than Johnny Manziel. He has as much potential to be in jail as the pro bowl. Updraftable. -
More Proof that Fred Jackson is an Awesome Human Being
zonabb replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We love the guy because he embodies what is means to be a humble, articulate, giving, hard-working professional human being. The bar is so low in society today, just look at these mudslinging morons up for election today as my phone won't stop ringing (gotta love sleazy politicians exempting themselves from the do not call law), and seemingly lower in the NFL that is so easy to love a guy like this because he appears (I use the term because I don't know him personally, I can only assume) to be the anti-______ fill in the blank idiot, entitled, inarticulate, social deviant NFLer. Yeah that's a broad stroke but we hear more about the bad than the good. Everyday on ESPN it's Ray Rice this, Adrian Petersen that. No Fred Jackson though. So we gravitate to a guy like this and away from the Dez Bryant's (I signed with Jay-Z to be an icon but slapped my mother around); Greg Hardy's, and Aldon Smith's. More Fred Jacksons, fewer Jameis Winstons please. -
I don't want the Jets getting their hands on Winston or Mariota..
zonabb replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen. I wouldn't draft Winston. He's the latest athletic QB with questionable translatable skills, particulary the mental side of the game. Let the Jets have him. -
It's been an issue for years

Someone I know (I'm asking everyone!!) said Garcia's which is now the Pearl. Could be but I swear is was where the arena was built!
-
Thanks. I just remember parking north of the Aud and walking down to the place. I think Swannie and Malamute were too far and I still go to Swannie!
-
It's been driving me nuts since it came up this morning in a conversation. Does anyone recall the names of the old bars down where the First Niagara Center is now that were pregame hang outs in the late Aud years? The one I am thinking of I swear was demo'd to make way for the arena.

If you know the difference between correlation and causation (which I take you mean you know that correlation doesn't equal causation) then why bother with a statistically insignificant one week, 15 game sample size to make a point you imply is invalid anyway? Now, actually run correlation on the entire sample and then we'll have a conversation!

So at the press conference about buying the team you feel its the appropriate time and place to ask the new owner if he is going to clean house before close of business on his first day? He barely can find his office or the bathroom and this is the time for that question? It shows his complete disconnect between his role and what people care about. Sullivan cares about Sullivan and he's probably particularly ornery this week since its NE week, when real big league reporters descend on Buffalo from Boston and rub their job, his dream job, in their face. As a NEer himself, he has never been able to get into that market because he, frankly, is a hack. And a miserable, self-loathing hack it appears. I got sucked into this because I flat out despise most of the media in this town. The ones with the biggest voices, who desperately want the attention, are the biggest aholes. Imagine this twit or the card-collecting drive time blowhard for one second. Now ask yourself, who from your high school or college do they remind you of? It won't be someone you consider memorable, unless for some unflattering reason. As I've said before... I met Sullivan once back when I was a young reporter (before I came to my senses and realized covering sports was a joke of a career). It was outside an out of town arena waiting for access to the press entrance. His arrogant attitude, that he was owed access, that he should never have to stand out and wait to be let in was stunning for its dissonance. He's as big a jack-off as you imagine. I wish the reporters covering local governance were as hard in our leaders for things that really matter as some of these guys are with sports, which doesn't matter and frankly no athlete or owner should have to face. But I came here not to slam this lackey. I came here to say that I'm not happy for myself as a fan, this city, or the players and coaches. If they left. it would suck for a nanosecond and life would move on. I'm happiest today for Terry Pegula. This guy seems genuinely humbled by what his hard work has given him the opportunity to do and I think, without hesitation, that he truly gets satisfaction from the altruistic nature of the purchase. He's the anti-Jerry Jones and I'll always be pulling for Terry Pegula the person.

No way, they're STUDENT athletes there on their academic credentials and playing football as a way to pass time until they're accepted into graduate school. Just ask Leodis McKelvin, he'll clearly and eloquently explain it to you, using the Wonderlic test as an example of what student athletes can achieve given his excellent 13, putting him and his Troy education a few points below a warehouse worker. Biggest embarrassment in academics is letting these low achieved into quality school, wringing their athletic talent from them and handing them a bs degree. Love someone to write a paper on where set these d1 scholarship athletes are today. 80 scholarships per school. Where are they? Or better yet, which Walmart, lowes. Home Depot, and target are they working at?

EJ was benched for the rest of the team's sake
zonabb replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. The danger for losing this team was real and coupled with this dismal performance in two winnable games, it was the right call. EJ is sunk as a QB. Put this team into position to squeak into the playoffs and built confidence in what is a very young team. It's about them learning to win. However, the bigger issue is that neither EJ or Orton are the longterm solution so what happens after this season? -
Tells me that Whaley understands that winning matters, that it wasn't his pick, and he wasn't going to ride him into the unemployment line. But it was Marrone's decision as well and that speaks volumes, I think, for his willingness to pull the plug on a failed experiment. I think the players will be the benefactors of a good coaching decision and feel like the coach is trying to win with what is a decent team outside the QB position and in a winnable division.

Teddy Bridgewater 1st NFL start...
zonabb replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Helps their running game ran up 240 yards. Not an EJ apologist but one game is not a sample you might want to draw conclusions from. -
Amen. He lacks the mental characteristics/makeup that matter. Doesn't seem to care about winning or losing, same ridiculous monotone pressed, never looks like he's confident or in control of the team. Throw in bad decision making, which I think can improve slightly, with the accuracy, which can't improve, and he's done. Move on with a reach in the top half of the second next year.
-
Great play call there with the game on the line, a deep route along the sideline where EJ is as inaccurate as a 5 year old. Hackett sucks as bad as EJ executes,
-
Don't let one play blind you from what the whole story tells you. Outliers don't overcome the average.
-
Game over. Anyone need a pair for the NE game, heading to Fall Fest to start taking back my Sundays.
-
One mistake per guy is acceptable. EJ has made double digit errors. Anyone who sticks up for him at this juncture is blindly loyal and dreaming. He's not the guy. Back to back winnable games and they lose them both because EJ just can't make a f^*king play. Not a single f^*king play. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
-
Both.

Texas adjudged their offensive away from running, we've run the same offense for 20 games under Hack.

Put me down for September 28, 2014 as the day I called EJ a bust. Nice kid, rooted for him, but he lacks the fire, passion, leadership and most importantly the skills to be a legit QB in this league. His accuracy is miserable and his ability to read the field hadn't been fixed. Now if we can get rid of McKelvin, maybe leave him behind in Texas, we can start over. Again. McKelvin doesn't deserve a roster position.

we need to take more shots down the field
zonabb replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they gotta take the kid gloves off ej and stop being so conservative. Seems like he's too tightly wound and afraid to make mistakes. The only way they can figure out if he's the guy is to stop coddling him with a bad run game because when they need him to win it with his arm like today, he fails. I don't like the offense and haven't seem anything like in 19 games under Hackett.
