Taylor showing frustration to Buffalo media
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never understood this logic, not once. We are not entitled to hear what athletes have to say and I'd like someone, somewhere to give one good reason why we should be? If you buy a ticket, that entitles you to nothing but tour seat to the performance. Do we expect/require/demand bands and actors stand up for a press conference and answer questions after every performance? And save the "we pay for their stadiums" BS because that means we should be holding out politicians accountable, not the athletes. If only the media here in Buffalo held our state and local leaders to the same levels of accountability and expectation, this state and region wouldn't be dying (it is, don't fool yourself). We wouldn't have untouchable shadow govts like water authorities and thruway authorities, wasted expenditures, inefficient service delivery, and the multtide of structural problems that killing this place in the first place and won't be fixed with new buildings and craft breweries. I prefer Lynch's approach to the media, which is beat it losers. And Belichek's complete disdain for them. When a guy who spends his life hiding behind the ink barrel and hasn't been a CEO or pro athletes tries to act like he's knows what he's talking about, it tends to come off as childish. -
Weather forecast for Steelers game
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100 chance of a beating from the Steelers as a crowd of black and gold buy up tickets and head north to invade. I've got mine posted on CL in Pittsburgh! -
Nope. Can't blame the defense for getting gassed and run over when TT went 3 and out and then an INT on the next in the second half. Yes, the D needs to make stops, but what is the limit or breaking point when they keep trotting back out on the field after successive 3 and outs to get run over?

Who's the QB? That's all that matters. Another coach with the same QB will get the same results. Mediocrity. Unless you have a better QB, keep the coach.

What does keeping Rex a 3rd year accomplish?
zonabb replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the reality of the NFL, the QB is the only thing that matters. Coaching is second on the list. Bad QBs make bad coaches. Good QBs make good coaches. Look no further than Jack Del Rio, he got run out of Jacksonville because his teams sucked with Byron Leftwich, David Garrard, and Blaine Gabbert (he got fired I think Gabbert's rookie year). He had two winning records in 9 seasons. He was 68-71 there. He was a defensive genius, supposedly. But you don't win in this league with great defenses and medioce QBs. He goes to Oakland and he 7-9 and 10-2 with what appears to be an excellent QB. Did he get better as a coach? Or did he get a superior QB this time? I'm so sick of the coaching complaints, the "fire XX" after two years and start over chant. It hasn't worked for 17 years through a mountain coaches for one reason and one reason only.... bad QBs get coaches fired. Taylor killed the defense in the second half last night. He went I think 3 and out three straight times after Oakland closed it to 8. I think the fourth series was the INT. So he couldn't make a single throw to keep the team moving and instead put the tired defense back on the field. Yes, you need stops here and there but if you don't get them, it's bad sign when your QB can never, ever come through. I'll continue to say "Who's the QB?" for everyone who calls for Rex's head. You think new coaches will fix Tyrod? Were Rob Johnson, JP Losman, Trent Edwards and any of the other horribly flawed QBs we had in the past who went to other teams suddenly "fixed" by different coaches or did they suck just as bad under new management. Meet the new boss Same as the old boss -
Buffalo can still make the playoffs.....
zonabb replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
STFU. I'll bet you my house they can't even win out. I'd put $1,000 on Clevelands only won being here, against the Bills. So many delusional fans. -
Here's the question: how many four game win streaks does TT have? How many does Rex have as the Bills coach? How many in the last 17 seasons? I hate the the "ignore the record and reality" optimists who week in and week out try to convince themselves and this board that this team isn't what it's record indicates and instead is somehow just a few bounces and some back luck away from being good... For the last !@#$ing 17 years. Wake up and meet reality. It's a hard pill to swallow but is no excuse for fooling yourself.

I said 20, no joke, to the three guys I was out with. I was wrong but not by much. Team is the outlier, year after year, when it cones to what should happen. They continue, to miraculuosly, overcome the 95% probability and be the 5% improbability. TT can't make a single damn play when trailing and the D can't hold a lead.

NFL introducing Fan Fest at 2017 Combine
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stupid and pathetic. If your life is that unfulfilling that you want to go watch people run and jump and lift weights for no medals, just go to your local college and watch spring workout sessions. It's cheaper and just as lame. -
Rob Gronkowski Headed for Back Surgery - Season Over
zonabb replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First ballot is doubtful if he ended it right now but he's in. I don't want to post the numbers but his TDs and yards per receptions are elite and he's done it in only 88 games. If he goes on, and he should, he'll blow past most but won't catch Witten or Gonzalez who will likely go down as the GOATs. -
Raiders looking to move to Las Vegas?
zonabb replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another dagger in the NFL. People are sick of the imperialistic greed and the constant use of taxpayer handouts for billionaires who put one community against another is a bad look. People care, it's that simple. Throw in garbage international games; threats on international teams; 3.5 hours games with too many commercials; concussions and crippling injuries and this league is on the way down. -
I'll be there

Wish he was the Bills' crybaby.

offseason priority: rebuild the offesne
zonabb replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Priorities 1 - infinity draft, sign, or steal a QB. That might include breaking all NFLPA rules and finding ways to get as much work into Jones as possible, see what there is there. Watching these teams with young QBs who are miles ahead of Taylor is frustrating to say the least. Big, strong, mobile QB. Not an impatient two looks and run guy, you can't coach that out of a guy. But a guy who can escape after scanning the field quickly and finding nothing. Rebuilding the offense starts and ends under center. You could find All Pro OL and a compliment of excellent weapons and theyd be wasted with what we have at QB. -

Now we know why Hogan's offer sheet wasn't matched

Honestly, of all the places people swear have good wings, Gabriel's is the one place I've never had good wings once on multiple occasions to the point I gave up. Most overrated wings. As a died in the wool Buffalonian, I go anywhere someone says they're good and I've been everywhere. Gabriel's is bottom of the list, just below Anchor. So many good spots, my current faves, which are slightly off the traditional Bflo recipe, but consistently good and crispy are 911 and Kelly's Korner. -
Should Landry Get Suspended? Update: Fined 24k
zonabb replied to fridge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is what contribute to the decline in viewership. People don't want to watch guys incapacitated each other and end careers by playing dirty. If the NFL can't get this type of dirty pkay out of the game with immediate removal from games and multi-game suspensions without pay, they can expect people to tune out. When someone knows the impact of such hits and still does it, sane clear thinking people aren't ok with it. If I liked savagery and personal injury, I'd watch mma or be an accident recreation specialist and get my jollies off the pain of others. F the NFL. -
The recent pool that puts the anthem protests as the most common reason is bunk, that's people using it as their own platform to complain. If you don't watch football because of something that happens before the TV timeslot even starts, you're a fool. The issue for me, besides being less and less willing to watch players whose actions disgust me more every day, is the 3.5 hour game now. The commericialization of the sport in the never-ending quest for revenue and profit is more than I can deal with. Touchdown, commercial, PAT, commercial, kickoff, commercial is an affront to my sanity. It's greed-based decisions that kill it for me, from the removal of the common fan in most stadiums in favor of PSLs and suites to the moving of teams whose communities won't shell out hundreds of millions to help the machine be more profitable to the garbage with Mara's support of Brown while know what was actually happening... it's disgusting. Cuban was spot on.... hogs get slaughtered. Used to watch the 1, 4, and 8:30 game on Sundays plus MNF. Now I only watch the Bills. The days of being an NFL fan are over, I'm a diehard fan of a team that plays in a league I despise.

Aaron Williams' Neck Injury Could Be Long Term
zonabb replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he's somehow medically cleared, he needs to make the smart decision and walk away. Disturbing that a scumbag hit by a scumbag player like that will ultimately end a guy's career. -
Lets clear up some minsconceptions about this offense
zonabb replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Averages are meaningless because they smooth out variability. Give me splits in games won and lost, and games against teams with winning records and losing records. Maybe they hold true, but I doubt they do and therein lies the key question when analyzing this team: how do they perform against teams that are as good or better. Actually, after a look at it, they've played one team with a winning record, the Pats, who they beat because they played a third string QB. So really, it's worse than expected because all those great stats you use are against teams with a combined record of 15-26 without the Pats or 21-27 with them. So they're offense is OK against losing teams, yeah. -
Do the Bills have a better chance of........
zonabb replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on if its hotter in Boston or in the summer! They'll lose both. Book it. They have zero answers for the Patriots' offense. The two TE scenario is a matchup nightmare. Bills do not get a rush from 4 DL and if they send 6-7 their DBs can't play man to man, they've been roasted all year. Their pass game sets the tone and it'll be ugly. The Bills offense is one dimensional. The Pat will keep the run game in check by making TT beat them with his arm, which he can't. Game over. Seattle will be as bad. West coast trips (save the "hey they won in LA argument) are historically problematic for east coast teams and especially so against quality opponents, which Seattle is (LA is not). Again, a team with a great run defense will make the Bills have to rely on TT, who can't deliver. This is a 4-5 team headed into the bye. -
Why we will beat the Patriots this Sunday...by 10 pts
zonabb replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They'll lose by double the spread, book it. In fact, I am in a survivor pool where we pick ATS and can pick any team as many times a year as we want and I'm all in with a max bet this week on the Pats. This is a matchup nightmare. Bills can't get sustained pressure without blitzing and their TEs can't be covered by Bills' LBs and safeties. If they blitz, that puts the DBs in man to man and how has that worked out this year? Gilmore sucks. Williams is out. So Brady, as he does, will pick them apart. If the Pats get their run game going like Miami did, it's an easy double digit loss. That seam pass to Gronk for the TD last night was an indefensible piece of art. Who defends that guy this week? Because my bet is he's gonna be the goat a week from today. The Bills' O is one-dimensional and as Miami proved, if you can stop that dimension, the run, TT can't beat you. He simply just can't do it. Reports from those who watch the all-22 seem to consistently state that TT misses many downfield opportunities to hit open receivers. -
Taylor is just a game manager.
-
I'm a firm believer in the predictability of this team in games they must have. 99 yards to go and they'll get the game winning TD here. Book it. They lose another game that could have been the over the hump game. 4-4 coming up
-
Think the outcome is not going to be good. Offense can't sustain drives and the D is gassed.
