This guy is such a tool. Listening to him on WGR55, he reminds me of the dorks in school who didn't play football but when they talked about it, they used the terminology the football players and coaches do as a means to try an pull off some level of credibility and authority. So I just listened to him say "mike," "will," "not enough butt." What a complete dweeb. Had to turn him off. Jesus dude.

Garbage channel. The screaming morons with "hot takes" and the hot young and intellectually devoid female "reporters" make it unwatchable. ESPN went for the young population, forgetting that the older, professional, gainfully employed population is where the money is at.

Bills decline to match Gillislee offer sheet
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perfect. It's simple math. A replacement 5th rounder at $2.6 million (last year's 163th pick contract) over 4 years instead of $6M over two. Or for all the "RBs are a dime a dozen" guys it taking a more pressing need in the 5th and RB later or as an UDFA. MG was good, but behind a very good run blocking line and easily replaceable. Not worried. -
Tom Brady-The Greatest of His Era, Not All-Time
zonabb replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just so I'm clear, you're admitting he's the best QB in this era and I think we'd all agree that in terms of skills, quality, complication, and competition, this is the best era of football. So that by logic makes him the GOAT. Unless of course you want to go back to the 1940s or 1950s football, which was garbage. -
anybody not on board drafting QB at 10 is a *****
zonabb replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sign me and my terminal degree up as a *****. I mean, overpaying for bad products is always a good idea, signed JP Losman and EJ Manual. This is the worst argument ever made about drafting a QB, that you have to take one with a first round pick in any year regardless of the quality of the players. Just horrible. In a supply (quality starting quarterbacks) and demand (about 22 less than needed) imbalance, prices go up but quality does not. You can overpay for all the garbage you want, it's still garbage. Your current need does not guarantee increased supply, and that is the problem with the argument, which is built on one major flawed assumption, that it's just a matter of picking a player high enough and that draft slot alone is the key predictor of success. Just writing that annoys me to no end. -
Michael Irvin being investigated for sexual assault
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First Ballot unanimous Scumbag Hall of Famer. Just a steamy pile of ignorant and arrogant (worst combination, stupidity and no filter) donkey excrement. Part of the problem with the NFL product for people like me and all my friends, STHs included who grew up in the 1980s as school age fans was we hate these screaming idiots on TV who are bad people with big mouths. You have drug addicts, murders (or at least accessory to murders), sexual assaulters, etc. all on pre and post game shows. Irvin, Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp on TV? No thanks. I haven't watched a pre or post game show in over a decade. Tuned out. I'm not conservative prude, trust me, but I'm never going to applaud people who are social menaces and deviants who appear on my TV. Tune em out. Hope he did it not for her sake, never wish that on someone, but to get his stupid face out of the public eye for good. -
Raiders Still Hoping for Fan Support(Bills Related)
zonabb replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Said earlier in a thread that I'll turn in my seasons when the Pegula$ ask for my money (socialized debt, privatized profit) to help them build a stadium so I would clearly run, not walk away from them if they decided to move. The idea of spending one cent on the Bills knowing they were moving would be asinine. See the difference between the Bills asking getting a handout and SolarCity is, I don't do business with SolarCity nor can I realistically move from this region that hands the money out. And if I could or did, it'd be to another place that does the same. But I can stop supporting people who makes billions and the government hands my money to. -
Bills want "success" before building new stadium
zonabb replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mara can F off. And so can the Bills if they come begging for public money for a stadium. I'll cough up my seasons and walk away. Enough already. This region is dying, despite what your local politicians tell you. We've waste $750M on a solar panel factory that promised more jobs when the money hung in the balance than it will actually deliver. We're one of the few regions losing tech jobs, the key to the economy. We have tooooooo many local governments duplicating services. Poverty is up, wages are stagnant for the vast majority, and yet we want to cough up millions to an owner and a league that prints money? Sorry Terry, sell the yacht and ADK retreat, and the extra houses. It's not my role to undertake debt to secure your profit. -
Over/Under for wins this season.

Push. They have not improved and the schedule is tougher. Too many major holes and not enough draft picks. Rebuilding year. -
Tom Brady-The Greatest of His Era, Not All-Time
zonabb replied to a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This constant need to compare Brady against fill-in-the-blank Qb from fill-in-the-blank era. This is the best era of football. Guys are bigger, faster, more athletic, in better shape. QBs are better now than the past because the competition is better. All you are doing when saying Brady isn't the GOAT is supporting your own confirmation bias, which is you hate his guts because he's ripped this garbage team of our apart for years or his wife is hot or he's too rich or he's too much of a whiner (all true) but that doesn't take away from his status as the GOAT. My argument is simple and destroys ever single QB you throw out there.... his reign is the longest with the most Super Bowls. 15 years between the first and last super bowl win. He's 39 and as good as he's ever been. My money's on a repeat. He wins with good WRs and guys the Bills cut that TT couldn't do anything and Brady turned into a household name. He's won with no-name interchangeable running backs. Montana had an exponentially better team around him, so did Young. So did Aikman. So did Bradshaw. Manning was great, but championships are the greatest measure. Keep crying about it because the reality sucks. -
And here is it, the annual anti-Wonderlic point. Severely underrated by those with an inability to connect the need to think with the ability to play football. Football is a sport followed by lots of old school. "tough guy" types who severely undervalue brains. This guys had a four. He was a first round physical talent and hasn't lived up to it. Huh. Coincidence? The Peter principle applies to football too and brains are the common factor. You want a moron playing CB, expect the results people have seen with this guy.
-
Nope. He left seeking big money, got it, sucked, and can go pound salt. If Im the Bills, I don't bring back a guy who arguably could have played and sat instead to protect his FA cash collection scheme. And his old man certainly coached him up there based on his comments. not the kind of player you want on a team.

No more fun and games for McDermott
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Echo the leadership and culture thing. This "work has to be fun and playful" mentality of the millennial generation is widely panned in established companies and seems to the the playground of start-ups, who often fail, I would suggest partly due to a lax policy of hard work and commitment. No office I've ever worked in had a lounge with a couch and a TV or videos games. Why football players have to act like children is beyond me. We applaud guys like Kyle Williams because of his motivation and professionalism and pan childish slobs like Dareus. Which of those two, I wonder, would cozy up to some video games instead of being in the film room? A leader at the top means disciplines, program and organization focused staff. The psychology and intellect if football is underplayed by a lot of jockstraps who understand brawn only. Everyone here hates the Patriots but if you care to look into them, read about them, and understand them, they function not like a bunch of stupid jocks but a Fortune 500 Company. That's the commitment necessary. Anyone who stands up for video games in the building, just wow. -
Trepasso's Bill's Free Agency Plan
zonabb replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lots of dart throwing there in FA. But his guess is as good as anyone's here because he's making assumptions about competition for these players services, meaning the team gets first dibs on players and doesn't have to compete. And I wouldn't touch Jarius Turd on principle. Let him count his money somewhere else. And people say history degrees are useless. -
You can get his level of play cheaper. Don't confuse his draft slot with his skillset, or the myth he's a lockdown or shutdown or whatever the hell they call themselves corner. Guy is not on any top 15 list of CBs after the 2016 and routinely was thrown at his entire time here. People want to point to his few good plays but a greta db, not a good one but a great one, which is how he wants to be paid, isn't as inconsistent as this guy. He's just not that good to pay that stupid money. Like Bird, let someone else overpay.

Tyrod reportedly looking at real estate in BUFFALO
zonabb replied to youngjebrey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think its embarrassing or dysfunctional and I'm not a front office fanboy. I think it's smart because they don't have to make a decision until after FA is open and the musical chairs starts. If the other FA QBs sign quickly, a team(s) that didn't get a seat might be interested in TT in a trade. I think they're playing this right. They owe fans jack squat, just like TT. This is the contract both parties signed, the Bills have the right and he has none. In the end, I think they'd like someone to take him off their hands for some assets (pick, player, both) and buy a lower priced mediocre QB to be a bridge to either Jones or someone they draft. The reason is simple: if they knew he was the guy, they'd have stop letting him twist in the wind and called it, made it public. Doesn't take two months to arrive at this decision. They have no standing asking him to renegotiate. He can be released and earn more , he knows it. So they probably asked, he told them to eat a fat one, and they're working to build up potential interest and if none materialized, my money is on he stays. -
Could a humbled Greg Hardy be the next Richie Incognito?
zonabb replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the words of Bill Burr this guy should be buried under the jail. Absolutely deplorable piece of garbage human being who should be lucky to jockey a cash register. Emotional feel good stories are great when someone overcome circumstances that were beyond their control... A health issue or maybe being beaten within an inch of your life by an animal like Hardy. Let's root for the girl, not this fecal matter. -
Does Watson's impressive combine do anything for you?
zonabb replied to BILLiever55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope. A QB with an accuracy problem in a league where passing requires reaction and thinking will only exacerbate the issue. There's no QB in this draft worth drafting if you plan to stake you franchise and job on it. This is the Manuel draft all over. Taking one for the sake of taking one has been this team's problem. Manuel and Losman were taken because of a desperate need and it failed miserably. When national experts (in others opinions) don't think any are legit franchise talents nor worth an early pick, that should tell you something. Draft some raw guy later, like a CJ, and stock up on needs with your early picks and via FA. I think in the end, TT stays because he's better than the draft options. McDermott with a good D can win and sneak into the playoffs, just won't win there with TT. Mediocre QBs make the playoffs with good teams around them. I'm betting that's the shortterm plan from OBD while they draft and try to groom a QB. -
Cleveland Heavily After Tyrod Taylor.
zonabb replied to KevinMassare's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll believe these rumors, like all rumors, one a legit journalist (oxy moron) puts a name to a quote stating such. Otherwise, it's garbage, no team would trade a top pick for a QB like TT, whose team mind you HAS NOT stood behind him. So the Bills, in their infinite wisdom have told all teams he's not their guy simply by letting this dangle on and on. So Cleveland's interest is not to trade a top pick for him, but in acquiring him when the Bills pass. What team would move a top pick for him when the Bills appear likely to dump him? Such stupid reporting it's mind-boggling. I've got an 87 Escort with an expiring registration. I am undecided if I want plan to renew it but if you want to swap with me for your 2017 BMW, I'll totally do it. -
Oh, that's as good as any reason to draft a guy. Context matters. See: Manuel, EJ. Best in his draft class.

Drumpf quits. -
Sadly, I think advertising is one of the reasons for the beginning of a slow decline for the NFL. I can't watch a single NFL game in TV unless its the Bills. It's maddening and I don't have the patience for TD, commercial, extra point, commercial, kickoff, commercial. It's nauseating. I've come to love EPL soccer, watch an entire match commercial free in one hour, forty-five minutes. I think the NFL only cares about the fans insomuch as the fans are its collective ATM. Look at relocation. The NFL and its teams basically said "Fans need to invest in our money-making model and build us a stadium or we're leaving." Socialized debt, privatized profit. As a STH, I wouldn't lose a minute's sleep if the Bills left or if the NFL went backwards. I like the game, the game, but it's getting worse. I think the players become more unlikable every year, the owners greedier, and the product sh!ttier. And because it's a growth based business, it can't sustain itself on stable revenue, it needs practically impossible levels of new revenue annually. It's not sustainable with more advertising! So back to the original point... it won't matter, the NFL will advertising itself to death because ads, clicks, products, etc. drive the league, not tickets. If they went to no commercials, we'd be bombarded with changing graphics on the field during play, uniforms that do look like stock cars, and an 8 foot tall add ribbon at field level. It would like like a casino and b unwatchable. And when will they wake up and put the Super Bowl on Saturday? They want to increase viewing, stop putting it on at 6:30 on a Sunday on the east coast and ending it at 10:30. That's the dumbest thing ever, they've destroyed tradtion every year with more dumb rules and relocations but they stupidly sit on a Sunday Super Bowl. Moronic.
-
Please no. I heard a honk on the radio yesterday give him the kiss of death... an inability to be accurate with the football, which he made clear was not measured in completion percentage but seen via the fill, which is the ability to put the ball in the best place for the receiver in a given situation. Stated that even Watson knows its an issue. If he hasn't been able to correct when he's aware of it, that's a problem. Please no more freak athletes that are "projects" or will "develop." Doesn't work. He further stated this group's stop players are not as good as the top guys the last two years and none were top 15 draftable. So you want to roll the dice and over draft a guy at 10? I sure as hell don't. Might as well stay with TT, he has the say traits. Except I will say Watson has one of my "gotta haves" and that's the complete disdain for losing. Read in many places there's no quit in the kid and he carries himself well around teammates who feed of it. The problem is, people fall in love with a guy in college, against substandard players (save the SEC is as good as the NFL nonsense).Usually, a college QB has mismatches all over the field that his WRs, TEs, and RBs exploit that over-state the QBs skills. Put them in an NFL setting where the talent gap shrinks considerably, the flaws come out and accuracy is among the most problematic.

SI.com Andy Benoit - Bills biggest need is to replace Tyrod
zonabb replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fact there there is a debate is enough to know its time to walk away. In two seasons, did he get even slightly better after his years as a backup? Those that want to interject their hatred of Ryan into the argument to imply he didn't coach him properly fail to remember, Ryan didn't make inaccurate throws not even get the ball to open receivers. That's on TT. A player in any system has to execute, this is an execution league and QB is the most important execution position. TT has many issues that Benoit pointed and that many former TT supports now include on their lists of reasons TT is not the guy. I think the debate comes down to one word: mediocre, followed by one crippling question at OBD: "Do we risk drafting a project from this class or roll the dice with Cardale Jones and potentially go backwards or do we accept the limits of mediocrity and stick with TT and potentially sneak into the playoffs and play one game, assuming all else improves?" This is the same question for fans. It's a monster financial risk to keep him around knowing he's hit the ceiling, hard. I think the powers at OBD know this is a mediocre QB who absolutely cannot win you a game by himself like, uh, that guy from NE did last week completing 27 of his final 33 to take over and win the SB. If you honestly think this is a SB caliber QB, I don't have much to offer. Seeing all the younger QBs in this league and the guy who seems to not be dropping off in NE, are you willing to keep Taylor as your ticket to an AFC Championship with the old gaurd SB winners still around (Brady, Roethlisberger, Flacco); young and up-and-comers in the way (Luck, Carr, Mariota) and the perpetually underwhelming playoff threats (Rivers, Dalton, Smith)?
