New Orleans fans were great. At home, Pats fans are horrible, but Jets and Steelers fans come close.

Preseason Ticket information 8/10/17 Minn Game
zonabb replied to mrpunchy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't buy 7 at box office prices. Buy 7 on the street and just sit somewhere in the upper deck where you will certainly find 7 seats together. In fact, if the box office even has 7 together, they'll be the 7 you'll be able to sit in. Attendance at these overpriced rip off games is barely 50%, you'll find spots and no usher will give you grief. -
What's Your Definition of a Successful 2017 Bills Season
zonabb replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Each quarter of the season they improve, by the eye test, statistically, and maybe wins. This is not a playoff team by any stretch. Improving as the season plows forward would indicate better grasp of respective schemes, growth by younger players and rookies, and better coaching as they get to understand what they are working with. There is a significant dearth if talent here, or maybe some that hasn't bloomed. Expecting rookies at two key positions (WR, CB), arguably with the steepest college-to-NFL learning curve to be better than average, which they would need to be, alone is a stretch. The safeties are questions. Second round pick last year hasn't played and now has to learn a 4-3 that he's never played in. Offensively, it's all on TT. As he goes, so goes the entire team. A great running game doesn't win with a last place passing game. Stay tuned I guess but I'm having my hat on about 6-10. -
Have you ever rooted for the Pats to win a SuperBowl?
zonabb replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The last few unabashedly. Not a hater anymore, instead enjoying watching pure masterful dominance by hoodie and the GOAT. Hater's gonna hat, I know. -
Yeah, no one has ever been shot by over zealous cops while sitting in their car "displaying a gun" in America. Cops shoot and never get convicted even when obviously guilty because cops are heroes and beyond reproach. "Justifiable homicide" is the term. I have friends and family in law enforcement, doesn't mean I can't question the profession! And Washington is classic NFL thug. They're trained to BS everyone. They say football was the way out, a conscious admission they've had it tough and statement that suggest they don't want to live the way they had. Yet, despite being trained to lie to appease public sentiment, basically, they act the opposite. This guy had two kids in college. Was arrested for solicitation and now a gun charge. I'm supposed to root for this loser, who when arrested for prostitution said "You have to think before you act,” he said. “You can’t just think impulsively.” My guess is his impulsive behavior lead to his two kids. Not saying he's not a good father. I'm saying his continued questionabe decision-making is a problem. Go ahead and be homers and stick up for him, wear your jerseys with the name of children on the back, and turn a blind eye to the National Felons League. Favorite sport is played by more miscreants per capita than most professions outside those illegal ones.

If we're talking 5-spot ranges, they're more like to be 12-16. The scheme will be simpler but as mentioned, the safety position is a major concern. They're going to start a rookie DB. Ragland's talent might be wasted as he was picked as 4-3 LB and has to learn MLB. Is Brown good/fast enough for MLB? Kyle Williams is old and I'm not as high on the line as others, although they should be the best unit on the D. The end game here is they should be markedly better, and that in and of itself will help.

Article on the Florida Marlins/new stadium/new owner
zonabb replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was told over the weekend by someone in construction and in the know that his contact in facilities (mgmt level) with the Bills said the stadium topic right now is non-existent and they are happy with where they are with these latest/ongoing improvements. Sounds to me like the Pegulas a) don't care about the Jones and Kraft's of the world pressuring them into something they don't need and is not going to change the market here and b) this current lease is likely to be extended. Shoot the messenger if you will, I have 100% certainty the info is spot on. -
Stop with "Schedule is Hard"--Analytics says it BS
zonabb replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, as someone who sat through my share of graduate stats courses, I'll call BS on this. One season's worth of data is what any stats 101 student is taught to ID as spurious or in laymen's term's, cherry picking. Any moron with a Excel, two variables, and some barely passing understanding of correlation can run this analysis. The results only tell us about last season. One year in the entire history of the NFL. No more, no less. If you want to run with that proof as of anything well, I have some East Side property for a few hundred thousands I'll sell you. And because it's written by a biased Bills fan masquerading as a "reporter" whose education and experience with statistical analysis is unstated, I'd suggest not taking this with anything more than a giant grain of rose colored salt. Beyond that, without going way down the rabbit hole, correlation is a useless method to tell us anything about what causes wins. Strength of schedules doesn't cause wins or losses... remember, correlation doesn't equal causation. A more robust method (some form of regression) that takes into account actual factors playing a significant roll in wins and loss, like I don't know, draft and free agency acquisitions/losses, games lost to injury, turnovers, offensive statistics, defensive statistics, etc. would tell us more about wins than this garbage analysis. -
Who's closer... Bills or Sabres?
zonabb replied to ultimatebeing17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sabres by a mile. They have a generational talent at a critical position and are solid down the middle, key in the NHL. They have young talent around now with some younger players coming soon. The defense has gotten better just since the end of the season. That could be their short term issue. Goaltending is good enough to get them to the playoffs with the improved D and an injury free, more experience O. Good playoffs shot this season. TT + Brady means no division title. Inarguable point. That means fighting for two wildcard spots. So let's hypothetically say Oakland, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis win their divisions. If you want to argue with those picks, great that proves my point because the teams you would argue would win the division are what I think are wild card contenders the Bills can't beat right now... Tennessee, Denver, LA Chargers, Kansas City (thats a tough division and will have one wild card team) Cincinnati. If anyone thinks a team that is over/under 6.5 right now is a legit wild card contender, I want what you're dropping. Projecting beyond the current season is useless. -
Top 5? Thanks for the early afternoon laugh. Homer rose colored glasses are prevalent here. Can't even venture a response to someone who thinks this is a top 5 unit, ration has no place here.

[closed]Summer topics in the NFL: Are the Jills coming back?
zonabb replied to Iraq Vet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hopefully not. Dumbest thing in professional sports. -
And you're a moron. Jesus, lots of blindly loyal Bills fans who hate the guy for singlehandedly destroying this team twice annually but "remarkably unremarkable" takes the award for biggest homer crybaby ever. He joins other remarkable unremarkable QBs as a top QB in completions (5,244), passing yards (61,582), passing touchdowns (456), passer rating (97.2), fourth-quarter comebacks (38) and game-winning drives (49). He also is remarkably unremarkable as the all-time postseason leader in completions (788), passing yards (8,628), passing touchdowns (61), fourth-quarter comebacks (six) and game-winning drives (nine). His post season win total of 24 is 8 more than second place Joe Montana. If Jim Kelly had half this stat chart, people here would argue he's the GOAT... counting the non-stats stuff they prize so much when the stats aren't there, you know cuz he's tough, loves Buffalo, partied back in the day like Bills Mafia, has battled personal tragedies, etc.... Man, just dumbfounded.

Nigel Bradham charged with punching cabana boy
zonabb replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PFT caved to NFL player criticism and stopped its "days since an arrest timer" but never should have. These animals shouldn't be celebrated for playing a game but discussion of their transgressions as human quelled. Funny, I have yet in over 20 years of professional experience worked with a coworker who has been arrested. -
Despite popular believe, there are bad seats. The end zones are horrible, unless you're only out for a cheap seat. No depth perception. Also, lots of young fools there, as well as i the upper reaches of the 300s. If you're with your wife, she'll likely be nonplused by some hooligans. Best seats in all honesty, as someone suggested, are generally between the 30s in the first few rows of the upper deck (1-10 or so) and the upper half of the 100s, best views of the entire field. I've sat low 100s, can't see well enough. Sat in the last few rows in the 300s and as someone suggested, can't read numbers or tell who is who, you spend a lot of time watching the game on the big screen.

Oh a talentless reality star who only got a chance to be on TV or record an album because she's reportedly good looking (never seen her, just looked her bio up) is too good for Buffalo? If she couldn't make a career from her supposed talent in NYC, she should resign herself to her actula reality... she's a talentless gold-digging nobody. Anyway, her hubby sucks anyway and can stay away. On the other hand, this is a City full of talentless clowns so she would fit right in, right every hipster?

Is Kenny the guy who gets douched with condiments before every game? And in his 50s or 60s? Yeah, that's sane and mature. I just saw this quote from Steve Kerr on the old guard former NBAers who say they're better than the new guard... same rule applies here... older fans feel like they did it right and the younger people are morons. Old age is the most bitter reality. "They're all right. They would all kill us. The game gets worse as time goes on. Players are less talented than they used to be. The guys in the 50s would've destroyed everybody. It's weird how human evolution goes in reverse in sports. Players get weaker, smaller, less skilled. I don't know. I can't explain it." Move on, be happy the young generation has bought into this 17 year tire fire and supports something they probably shouldn't.

SI NFL: Ten Most Important (Non-QB) Players on Each Team
zonabb replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, excellent journalism. Pick 43.5% of the starting 23 players sans the QB. My 12 year old daughter who hates the Bills could do that randomly. -
Leonard Williams keeps Darron Lee from more trouble w/woman
zonabb replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The desire to make excuses for people is staggering. An adult knows right from wrong, period. One who has attended college (we know he was at least on a campus for practices and games), been through the NFL's rookie symposium, seen countless others do dumb ****, I am sure has had people talk to him and people still make excuses. Time to grow up, get help if you need it. If you refuse, hit woman, and act like a social menace, you are a sh!tty person, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Anything else you sound like Chris "You Can Sit on My Lap" Collins trying to defend Drumpf for indefensible statements, comments, and attempts at rational policy. Or Sal "The Jock Sniffer" Capaccio who yesterday said on the radio he went to school with Qadry Ismael... yeah so did thousands of others you tool. I get my news here and an occasional stop at other sights but didn't follow this one. But I long ago stopped being addicted to this league full of murderers, rapists, sexual assaulters, women beaters, robbers, and other miscreants. Just another nail in the coffin for me. One game a week during the season and then tune it out. These guys are animals. -
NFL may move the combine to Cali in 2018

If you watch even one second of the combine, I really feel bad for the life you live. That's as pathetic as anything I've heard. -
Tim Graham:Whaley wasted everyone's time.
zonabb replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Universe: Tim Graham Wasting Everybody's Time Can't understand why anyone reads anything in the media. What makes the opinion of some chubby white writer credible? Seriously, not a rhetorical question. Why because someone got a degree in writing and interviewing but has never worked in the NFL, played college or pro football, run an organization of any kind, coached professionally, or managed a budget do people somehow give his work credence? It's the ultimate credibility question. And again, the local hacks here are AAA reporters and opinionators, in a tiny third world media market outside the top 50. They're nobodies. Stop reading. Stop using their work as the starting point for your opinions and understanding. -
Is the AFC East the NFL's Worst Division?
zonabb replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The answer is yes. Dominated by almost two decades by one team that luckily had 3 myopic, anemic organizations in it. -
count me among those against shelling out my taxes for billionaire owners. This idea that this is how the game is played is a pathetic, selfish quitters mentality. We B word incessantly in this region about lost jobs and businesses and high taxes yet everyone has their blind spot. I'm a season ticket holder, they're welcome to pack up and leave, I'll be sad. But in a city with so many problems, perpetuated bad governance and pro-corporate interests solves none, only exacerbates them. Let Pegula play the "I'll move the team card" while trying to own his beloved Sabres in the same town! Force his hand. Something about "drilling another well" seems to suggest he can cover the bill.

Gilmore and Mahomes or White and a 2018 Pick?
zonabb replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love these types of questions where we presumably are asked to ignore money and cap. I like BMWs way better than Chevys but if both can do what they do... get me from A to B, the Chevy meets my utility needs while doing it for less.
