I said as soon as they got that last past they will throw a hail mary on the last pass. Amazingly, imbecile McD rushes 2 to insure that Rogers has a ton of time to set up and throw and of course the Bills look like they have never practiced a hail mary defense. How can he be this stupid? How can Babich be this stupid?

This is logical but NFL franchises have incredible blind spots to situations like ours. I have always thought that the Bills would win a SB despite McD if he was the coach, never because of him. 13 seconds and a bunch of decisions since, small and large, have just cemented that opinion. The Bills would have to have the stars align in a playoff run, ie peaking with momentum, opponents injuries/bad luck and fortune on their side to mitigate the common McD in game management ineptness and the sometime unpreparedness factor. As for the rest, I think Pedersen gets fired, then Stefanski, Daboll then McCarthy.

Excellent point.

Daniels looks great but his OC has designed an offense well tailored to his strengths. -
Dorsey's first game as Cleveland OC

I remember being amazed as a teen watching the NFL in the 80s how it appeared that so many bad head coaches got 2nd chances in the league after catastrophically failing in a city. Then they would go on to fail spectacularly in a new city soon after. Rich Kotite for the Eagles and Jets comes to mind as my favorite example. But this also happens with coordinators as well. Dorsey had Josh Allen and huge depth of surrounding talent at his disposal and managed to neuter of all them. How could the Browns take a look at his body of work and come to the conclusion that he was the guy to turn around the franchise and work with the resurrection of Watson? Just insane. -
Samuel and Shakir not practicing Wednesday

Having a defensive struggle against the Jets does not bode well. It will be a replay of last years first game which was excruciating. Of course another week has gone by and there is no additional help from outside for our offense. The Jets may have something to prove after getting Saleh fired and we dont tend to win these emotional matchups with McD not being a Levy like "win one for the gipper" type coach. Then again the Jets could implode all over like last week or the Denver game. Heres hoping. -
Raiders are open to trading Davante Adams
Livinginthepast replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
One of the things about the Diggs trade with the Vikings that I loved was the Bills stepping out of their conservative comfort zone to go after him. It was just something that this regime didnt really seem capable of doing. And it really worked out for the Bills and should have resulted in a SB if not for 13 seconds. I guess the Von signing was another move that you could argue was like this but obviously went sideways. They desperately need to do something like this again to shake up the roster. Adams or Cooper, either one would be a huge boost and their presence on the field would not only be positive for Josh but open up opportunities for other receivers. I would love to see either here and I hope Beane has the wherewithal to do it. -
Concussion or not. Allen went 0-5 on completions after he came back into the game. I've never had a concussion in my life but I think its safe to say that having one or getting your head slammed off the turf would impede your throwing ability and/or accuracy. Definitely affect your decision making and reading of the defense but it seems that the Bills never once thought about keeping Allen on the sidelines because he might have been concussed and didnt seem to think that it would affect him despite the fact that his day was already horrendous. And of course we have a completely incapable backup who cannot be trusted with anything but handing the ball off, so why is he on this team?

Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
Livinginthepast replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
As crazy as this sounds I would agree with this but it aint happening in a million years with this HC. He is all about the control but not about the accountability for the mistakes that keep happening no matter who the DC is. -
Well if the Bills cannot win this one with the Jets such a mess what will that tell you? On 2nd thought, Maybe this guarantees the Bills will lose. McD seems to get bested in these emotion filled games where he has to inspire the team as much as the opposition.

Dawson Knox: 3 receptions in 5 games. $8.5M salary.
Livinginthepast replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was an effective player, 9TDs in 2021 and 6 TDS in 2022. They reward him justifiably with a new contract then oddly they draft another TE and run schemes that he is just a blocker? which is just plain idiotic. If you are going to pay him then use him as he was used in 2021. -
McDermott needs a end of game coordinator
Livinginthepast replied to 86poker's topic in The Stadium Wall
BB's greatest skill was not his in game management per se but his patience in waiting for your garden variety Moron NFL HC to blink, crumble and make a really bad decision (ie McD style) that would gift him the victory. -
Josh Allen Performance Yesterday..a Redux
Livinginthepast replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
For Bills fans of a certain age, Thurman getting a screen or a shovel pass from Kelly was offensive perfection. 99/100 Thurman was getting great yardage. I have yet to see any OC in the McD era do this with any consistency or at all in certain cases. -
Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
Livinginthepast replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even for McD who has trouble in high stress situations, this was a no brainer. The solution was easy for even a high school coach. Not even a high pressure situation. Yet what unfolded was one of the dumbest series of plays in Bills history. If Brady made that decision to throw 3 times he is an idiot but if McD allowed it or was not in the loop about it, he is a bigger idiot. If they both agreed on the 3 throws they have graduated to imbecile level and should both be replaced. Its hard to forgive Brady who has been doing this for a few years in the NFL but McD? he has been a head coach for 7 years! How does an experienced coach screw that up? -
Not challenging Dalton sideline catch or Cook TD
Livinginthepast replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook was clearly out of bounds and there was no chance that was getting overturned. Kincaid was more winnable but not by much as it was called a no catch first and there was evidence for and against it being a catch. But yes the point made earlier that McD called a TO anyway without challenging it? was just dumb. -
But Brady doesnt know Josh's status the moment that Trubisky goes in and how long he is going to be in the tent. It was quite possible that Josh was going to be ruled out for the game. So the first down play call has to be something simple that Trubisky can handle cold off the bench but is getting us towards the end zone or into it. We absolutely have to score a TD to win the game. Maybe Brady got buzzed by the people in the tent that Josh was ok and coming back so do something safe on first down, but cmon we need something better than that useless running play. If Josh didnt come back what was Brady going to do with Trubisky? They dont seem to trust him at all and in their defense, Trubisky has been awful. I ask again what is the point of having him on this team? Mike White would be a better backup right now to Josh.

Catchable? Yes but I think Hollins catches that 2/10 times. Which explains why he has been on several teams in his career. Hollins is a decent 4th receiver but thats a difficult pass for him to catch. It wasnt a terrible throw by Josh but it also wasnt placed properly and had he led him to the middle of the field side, its an easy touchdown. Same with the deep throw later on. Where Josh underthrows his mind and its knocked away.
