No field awareness by Codrington on that punt return attempt. Let it bounce into the endzone. -
Not sure if this question was asked on this thread but will the new stadium design have any effect on the neutralizing the often unpredictable winds in Orchard park? Or is it going to be the exact same? When I was at the stadium last week for the first time since 2010 I had several flashbacks to previous visits where the wind would change several times in the game.

Thursday Night Football - Vikings at Rams

There is literally no way that #3 Official doesnt see that facemask. The dangerous jerking of Darnold's helmet makes it really obvious. The only way the head would jerk like that from facing forward to the side is because the facemask was pulled. Not possible otherwise. Saying that you didnt see it is basically admitting you are blind and should not be an official. Its also admitting you have no understanding of how a helmet works or physics -

Exactly! He knew he messed up with the facemask then he got a reprieve from the inept officials. Unbelievable. -

Watched the end just now. Was a pretty entertaining game but that facemask that wasnt called has to be one of the missed calls of the year just like Josh's horsecollar uncalled vs the Eagles last year. But what is the point of an eye in the sky ref if something that isnt immediately reversed? One of the most blatant and dangerous plays in the game and the officials miss that? HOW????? I guess the NFL will say that the eye in the sky cannot call an uncalled penalty but can only reverse a called flag? You need a challenge system 1X a half for coaches on either bad penalty calls or really bad missed calls. CFL does this and it works great. If a coach gets it wrong they lose a TO. If they have no TOs then they cannot challenge. -
Interesting observation, I have thought the same thing. He looks stronger, bigger and faster than at any time before in his career. When he gets up to speed its as if he has a "Nitrous switch" on his engine to boost him this year. Like the sprinter Ben Johnson back in the late 80s when he was jacked on Stanozolol.

Schefter: Metcalf considered “week to week”

Whoever did the surgery on his knee back then must have been the best of the best. Still gross watching that injury 2 decades later. -

Its odd looking back at this talented Bills team in 2004 and the fact that they still missed the playoffs. And the last game of the season against the Steelers backups may be one of the worst regular season chokes in Bills history. McGahee had decent career after such a catastrophic injury in the bowl game, I wonder how his knee is these days? -
I miss Daboll challenging our offense with complicated plays and deceiving defenses with motion. I also miss the gadget plays because our offense in 2020 and 2021 was so good at executing them. Our offense under Daboll was so fun to watch but Dorsey was painful. Brady is inbetween but has had some Dorsey moments already this year.

Jets had another implosion game last night. I wonder of the Steelers hate them as much as the Bills because instead of kneeling down, the Steelers ran it in for a TD.
-
I think he has it in his grasp in control and he breaks the plain of the GL. In the pre idiot rules NFL of the 20th C, that is a TD. But your argument I think is correct. The NFL doesnt call that a catch any more.
-
The call made no sense to me. When you break the plane its a touchdown and he took 2? more steps? But neither did the Tennessee late flag challenge that they LOST but didnt lose a TO?? I was at the stadium today and nobody could understand the ref's decision.

I think this is the key part . Teams have studied McD's defenses and his end of the half tendencies and exploited them. McD also oddly doesnt change his strategy of playing soft zone and giving up yards even when a team has all their TOs left. Its mind numbing how obvious the Bills D is in the situation.

This is an excellent point. Modern offenses are much more potent and the OCs are much more aggressive than in the old days. Sadly this also means that HCs and DCs have to be much more cognizant of the threat with less than a minute left. The bizarre thing about this is we are one of the teams that are capable of going down the field and scoring (bc of Josh) with less than a minute left but at the same time we are one of the teams on defense that most likely to give up points (bc of McD) in the same fashion!

I had forgotten about the Chargers one. Thats 3 successful Hail Marys under McD and one from Baker Mayfield vs TB that was very close to successful last year. Next time a team tries this McD has to have some of our taller receivers and hands team on the field and rush the QB properly.
