The Bills were never the worst opponents in those SB's. The statement is ludicrous. The only SB game that the Bills were overmatched was the 1992 Redskins game. And that was because the skins were so great that season. The ist one they were by far the better the opponent and the 3rd one they got unlucky with the Kelly injury and the gift TDs on turnovers.

AFC Championship: Pats** at Broncos
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel the same way even the part about the wife not getting the passionate hatred is the same for me. The Pats always get the breaks, the bounces, the calls and they are good but they still cheat anyway. Love to see them lose!! -
Most Loathed Coaches All-Time
Livinginthepast replied to John Gianelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bellichick is number 1 of anyone I can remember. Shula to me is mitigated by the fact that I saw the latter half of his career (late 70s to 95) where he had ceased to be dominating. Jimmy Johnson was also obnoxious with the Cowboys, but a joke with the Fins. -
AFC Playoff: Chiefs at Patriots
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing worse than watching the Pats win. KC basically handed the game to them. The Pats looked so ripe for an upset yet KC and Alex Smith yet again, cant get it done when it matters! -
Lawrence Phillips Found Dead in Prison
Livinginthepast replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Throughout his football career, coaches had to balance out his enormous talent with his degenerate thug side. Many of them chose to overlook his flaws off the field for what he could give offensively. After he failed out on his first NFL stint he came to Canada and had a great season with the Montreal Alouettes, won a championship, but then just like everywhere else his behaviour wore out the welcome. Its really too bad that nobody early on didnt scare this guy straight and turn him around. Just a complete scumbag as a person who was allowed to get away with way too much until he was completely out of control. -
Cardinals vs Eagles
Livinginthepast replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eagles got pummelled again. This is what good teams (AZ) do when a big game happens. Yet our Sad sack franchise goes into Philly and chokes and Rex gets humiliating outcoached. Arians has resurrected Carson Palmer into one of the best in the league again. What could I guy like him have done with the Bills? Too bad we will never know! -
I think this whole thread is ridiculous!! Of all the things to be pissed about today TT is not one. He has had a great season compared to the dreck qbs we have had in the last decade here. The reason we arent going to the playoffs is really bad defensive coaching. Our D was great now it it sucks with the same personnel. The coaches are to blame. why hasnt the offence been better? once again because of bad playcalling at crucial times. Roman is good but he isnt a genius. Once I saw TRENT DILFER win a SB, I realized ANY QB can win a SB. All you need is Great D and good coaching. TT is 100X better than pick6 Dilfer and fully deserves to be back at no1 next year.

I knew the second that they blew the Jags game that they would let us down again. They would flirt with the playoffs but when it mattered (KC and Philly) they screwed us again. I always think they cant get me anymore angrier or disgusted than they have in the past or that I am somehow numb to the abusive relationship I am in with the Bills but games like the KC make me want to break something in my rage. Its just BS what this organization has put it fans through!

Sully Blasts McCoy
Livinginthepast replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that's exactly it though. I could forgive McCoy for his pregame dbaggery of kissing the Eagle or of his insistence on griping about the trade and making it all about him IF he had an explosive day yesterday and carried the team on his back to victory. All that pregame stuff would have been removed or at least mitigated but in the end he and the rest of the team couldn't get it done when it mattered. -
Full on pick blatantly done before the pass is caught. Right in front of at least 3 officials. How on earth do they all miss that? It was completely intentional and just because the Eagle player got hurt (or maybe he was selling it to make it seem like an inadvertent collision) it doesn't matter. The officiating this year has been the worst of any type of football I have watched ever. Consistent crap every week. Every week a gaffe or a blown call. The refs need a serious overhaul!!

Kiss the Eagle?? Kiss my @$$!
Livinginthepast replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shady should have done his talking on the field. He wasn't bad today but just average. The kissing the eagle gesture was a huge slap in the face to Bills fans and the organization and his teammates. I think he should be apologizing to everyone! -
Whelp, they're trotting out the '72 dolphins
Livinginthepast replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just get the impression that the Panthers are not legit. I have a funny feeling they will blow one of these games down the stretch or choke under playoff pressure. Seattle knows how to win in the playoffs! -
Bill can be the #6 seed in AFC by tomorrow if....
Livinginthepast replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is it the Giants implode in 2 games late but of course when they play great against us and we implode? Today the Gmen played stupid vs the Jets. As for the KC game, Oakland wasnt that bad and hung around but Derek Carr made some horrendous decisions with the ball that result in a ton of KC pts. The Chiefs have the biggest horseshoe up their butts I have ever seen. Yes they are better than us but we basically gifted them 3 wins in three years. Today the Raiders did as well. As for the Steelers, it really hasnt been close. The Colts are crap. -
I dont have a problem with it either. In any event it could have been illegal hands to the face as the Lions defender kinda slaps the facemask. Possibly Horse collar?

NFL officiating - blast from the past (Bills-Jets)

Time to admit it: Marrone>Ryan
Livinginthepast replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The key difference between Rex and Marrone for me is that Marrone could never attract people to come and play here. Rex for all his faults can attract people who want to play for him much more so than Marrone. -
6 losses - 5 could have gone the other way.....
Livinginthepast replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quite simply they are not good enough to do what it takes when it matters to win. They dont have the experience to know what to do in those cases. In fact they have a bad habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. In addition the refs are crap for everybody, The Bills once again are just not good enough to overcome a bad officiating decision. When the Bills get jobbed by the refs usual incompetence they are usually not up by enough points or are losing. So when it occurs they fall apart. If the Bills scored on their opportunities instead of squandering them they would have a cushion of points to overcome the inevitable incompetence of the refs! -
The stats dont lie. The Bills D has gone way backwards and Rex is certainly responsible. Its very similar to the hatchet job that Greg Williams did when he came in here. He took over Wade's vaunted D and employed a new scheme which immediately resulted in disaster. They should have kept Schwartz as a D coach and hired a coach that would improve on last year's Offense. Once they hired Rex, there was never a chance that he would have retained Schwartz or even that Schwartz would have stayed. The big problem is that Rex's D schemes don't work with our current personal. In fact based on all the press reports the stars on our D are not buying in at all and are looking like they might revolt. Rex is starting to look like a really bad hire.

Rex Ryan says changes coming for review process

They review most plays automatically in College football already and the games are normal length. -
Rex Ryan says changes coming for review process
Livinginthepast replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is exactly what should happen. All the plays should be reviewed real time by a guy in the booth who is part of the referee's team. The refs in the past few years have screwed up over and over again. The standard of officiating is just not good enough. They need a keen set of eyes up in the booth on every play and not this nonsense of a coach needing to challenge ! The rules need to be clarified to all the refs and training should be improved. They also need some accountability when issues happen, -
The Pats lose so rarely but when they do I cherish the moment! No ref to save them on that run!
-
Why is it so hard for Rex to understand that the refs in this league may be the worst in professional sports? Its been years of this incompetence and this year has been particularly bad. So if that is the case it makes having a spotter in the booth ultra important for watching replays so we can challenge. Not only that he needs his players to understand that if a call looked questionable they need to make a point of telling him clearly to challenge. He also should be getting players to take a knee or stay down feigning injury on plays like that to get some extra time for the spotter to review the replay. Either way Rex's explanation was his Gomer "he's a punt catcher" moment. At least Wade had the excuse of no headset (bad as it was). Who is Rex talking to if it isn't a spotter?

James Trapp - Team "Chaplin"
Livinginthepast replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its not unusual to have Chaplain, esp in the NFL. so many of these players are major holy rollers. However whispering in Rex's ear like wormtongue in the Lotr? What does the shaman know about football or if the player caught the ball or anything? Totally embarassing!! -
Thigpen was decent and had a great TD on a PR last year. When Thigpen was in the CFL he a had a bunch of TDs on PRs but yet after all that the Bills jettison him? Why? Why is he not at least on the practice squad? Did he fumble as much as Leodis? Cant remember! So what gives here?
