I honestly think they are content going to camp with McCarron and Peterman. If that is the case, we are waiting until 2020 to draft a QB. I think they waited too long to pull the trigger on a trade into the top four. The Giants are not going to move out of two, they are not going to miss the chance at an heir apparent or elite runner. I think we are taking best player available at 12 or trading out.

The Jets Just Made a Mistake

Exactly. With next year's draft class weak at QB, three was our only chance to get in the top four. I see the Browns taking Barkley at one since they would be guaranteed a QB at four. This sucks. -

Meh. I am starting to think McCarron may be their guy. No way they can get to two without both firsts this year, a second this year, and next year's first. If McCarron was a franchise guy, someone would have tried him away from Cincinnati. Same mistake Rex made with Taylor. -
Without signing a veteran, all I have to say is they better get this one right.

Veteran QB: It all comes down to FOLES / MCCARRON!

Looks like Bridgewater to the Jets for sure now. Let's see where the last chip falls in FA. -

Veteran QB: It all comes down to FOLES / MCCARRON!

The question was based on the hypothetical of whether or not we signed McCarron. If we do he is going to be our starter for the next few years. He is not going to come cheap and is not going to sign somewhere unless he has a guarantee of starting. If he is our starter, then we could use our picks to trade up for weapons or sit at 12 and take the best player available. Somebody obviously can't handle a hypothetical question very well. -

If we grab McCarron it will obviously be on a big money, multi-year deal. Is it possible we then trade up to get weapons....say like Saquon Barkley or Calvin Ridley? And then use 22 on defense? -

Why bring in McCarron or trade for Foles if you intend to draft a QB in the top 5? The cost would be too high for the projected role. If you are going to flip draft picks for a starting QB, it better be for a someone that is going to carry the franchise. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't pry Luck free from Indianapolis. I would offer 22 and 65 for him, giving the Colts the ability to draft a QB at 3 and start their rebuild with 22. That way the Bills could draft best player available at 12 or trade back. I know his health is a concern, but he is handling the rehab of his shoulder the right way and news from the last week leads everyone to believe he will be ready to go come preseason workouts. -
Bills signings & TT trade point to trade up

If New Orleans mishandles the contract extension talks (which something is holding things up with only a few days to go) and Brees walks, of all the teams that have an immediate need for quarterback the Bills have the best shot of competing this upcoming season. He only has a few years left in the tank, and I doubt he wants to be under center in Cleveland or New York (J). We can meet his asking price and are not rebuilding. Don't rule this one out. Foles has proven he can be a good to great quarterback when placed in the right situation. He will probably be cost prohibitive, but I am not opposed to kicking the tires. Luck has had time to rest the shoulder. Indianapolis has mishandled that entire situation and if Luck doesn't want to play there any longer the could move on. His injury history could allow a team to grab him for relatively next to nothing. -

Aside from making the playoffs the best thing about last year is that the team knows it's ceiling. If Taylor was capable of carrying a team in the playoffs he would have done it. They know they need a quarterback, but I am not convinced that they are going to take one through the draft. There is always the possibility of prying Luck away from Indianapolis, Foles from Philadelphia, or someone like Brees may hit the street. Whatever happens it is going to be an exciting month and a half leading up to the draft. -

Week 15 - Fins at Bills 1st Half Thread

My only concern on that drive is that each target was to a tight end. Did he check down each time or even bother to go through his progressions? -
Just heard White is in the concussion protocol after that hit. As deliberate as it was, he should get multiple games. However, I don't even think the league talks about it because it's Gronkowski.

Sure, Taylor has been good to a certain degree....everyone likes to flaunt the 11 touchdowns to 3 interceptions ratio, but Taylor is in the bottom third in just about every major statistical area among qualified quarterbacks. To say he is better than anyone coming out in the draft (Jackson, Rosen, Darnold, Allen, etc...) or someone available via free agency (Keenum, Cousins, Bradford, etc...) is a gross overstatement. The only advantage is that he can run, which is certainly a positive, but not enough to keep him under center for the Bills.

Makes me lose confidence in McDermott moving forward. I want a head coach that will stick with a decision. This season is already done with, spend the time evaluating instead of allowing Taylor to audition for other teams.
