  1. I think they honestly underestimated the aggressive nature of other teams and the trade market overall. They thought the market would come to them, and now they are on the outside looking in at the top 10. I look forward to the press conference after the draft where they say that McCarron was always their guy and that the Cornerback they drafted at 12 (where they wanted to stay) will be the tipping point for another playoff run. I am just lowering my expectations significantly going into Thursday night.
  2. Always good to know that the Bills Front Office is content with going 7-9 every year. Gotta love the conservative nature of every regime that sets foot in Buffalo. Hey, we made the playoffs....should carry us for another 17 years.
  3. Although I would prefer to trade up, I would be ok with Allen at 12 if it fell that way.
  4. 12, 22, and next years 1st is what I would pay to get to 2 overall. Taking on 12 and 22 this years in addition to one puts Cleveland in the same boat as staying at 1 and 4, that fifth year option money is going to hurt.
  5. I think we get to pick No. 4, and RJ White on CBS Sports thinks it will only cost No. 12, No. 96, and next years 1st. No way the Browns will able to afford the fifth year option on two top 10 picks at premium positions. The option cost on No. 12 is a different story. Courtesy of ProFootballRumors.com
  6. RJ White on CBS Sports had the Bills trading No. 12, No. 96, and the 2019 1st for No. 4 overall. He had us taking Baker Mayfield and keeping No. 22. There is a lot of talk about the Browns wanting to offload some of the draft capital from this year since they wouldn't be able to afford the contracts at the 5th year option. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/seven-round-nfl-mock-draft-21-trades-256-picks-and-draft-class-analysis-for-all-32-teams/
  7. I know that I have heard that if the Browns actually use all of their draft capital they would not be able to afford the contracts in the future. I can't imagine it would take much to move from four to two if they really wanted to get it done.
  8. Well to be fair, since 1996 (the Jags first year) they have been to the playoffs seven times including three AFC Championship games. We have only been to the playoffs four times in that same span and lost in the Wild Card game each time. Do you want me to include Division Championships? Their tradition is a little better than ours in the last 22 years.
  9. Normally, I would agree with using current draft capital to fill holes on the roster, but we need something different, the Bills front office needs to do the opposite of what it has done for the last almost two decades. The goal every year should be to win the Super Bowl. It is a win now league. They need to pay the price and take the shot to get their quarterback. We need to pull a George Costanza and do the opposite of what we have always done, that is how he got a job with the Yankees, and that is how we get our franchise guy.
  10. Exactly, if Cleveland knows that they can get Allen at 4, that gives them incentive to trade out of that first pick. I am willing to bet McCoy is going to be wearing a Browns uniform if this trade goes down.
  11. There is enough to these rumors that I think we end up with the number one overall. It may cost two firsts, two seconds, and next years first, but if the Browns are set on Allen, it only makes sense to move back and take him at four.
  12. The Bills trade 12, 53, and Shady for 4 overall to take a QB and take a RB at 22.
  13. Shady, 22, 53, and 65 for 4 and I take Barkley at 4 and Jackson at 12.
  14. Why would Denver take a quarterback this year? No way the draft falls like that.
  15. Who picked Rob Johnson? I need an explanation from those people.
  16. Apparently, some of the latest mock drafts have us taking defense at 12 and 22. I could honestly see that happening, but I am not sure how many of us would be happy about it.
  17. The more this thing drags out the more I think the Bills should offer up 12 and 22 for Luck. He is throwing again and the Colts are refusing to talk about offers on Brissett.
  18. I honestly don't care if we trade up or draft a QB at 12, anyone of the eight listed are capable of being a franchise quarterback. Whoever it is, I want them to come into preseason with some swagger, with some confidence, and to act like a damn leader. This is a playoff team. They need someone out front to let the league and the rest of the world know that they are going to take that next step.
  19. What rebuild? This team made the playoffs despite the roster overhaul and the mediocre QB play. Now add the decent free agent signings and a franchise QB from the draft and you can take this team deep. Playing it safe was status quo until this current regime. Playoff windows on average are only 3-4 years, so take the risk, get the kid that is going to lead you for the next decade plus, and build through free agency next year.
  20. Its like that episode of Seinfeld where George does the opposite and things start to go his way. The Bills need to do the opposite of what they have done over the past two decades. We need to make a statement. We are a playoff team...we need to show the league we are serious about winning it all this year.
  21. I honestly say go for broke. Do whatever it takes to get to #2 and get a franchise QB. Standing pat has not worked for this franchise and with playoff windows only lasting 3-4 years on average, we need to take a risk. The goal every year should be win now, not build for next year.
  22. I think he called about four and asked about one. I would love to get one of the top two picks just to piss of the Jets fans.
  23. This is the best QB class in the past few years and will be the best for a few years to come. Best player available when you have such a glaring hole at the most important position does not get you back to the playoffs. It sure as hell does not give you a championship. Playing it safe is the status quo at One Bills Drive.
  24. I wish they would have been more agressive either at getting a free agent or moving up. If they knew they wanted to move up to three then why not pull the trigger? Taking best player available at 12 does not get this team to the playoffs again. No. The Jets made the move they needed to in order to improve their franchise. The Bills either got nervous or too cocky and failed to move up. They will see the playoffs again before we do.
  25. If McCarron was the guy, he would have been drafted that way.
