Why didn't he make any mention of this in the off season? Maybe I missed it. He had a good rookie season. No complaints by me and none by him. This year, he gets a zero target game (where he said "I'm happy I contributed and the team won") then a good Pats game, then injured halfway through the Fins game. So there you have it - this season hasn't started out as good as he hoped. Neither did OBJ's last year when he was injured but he made the most of it. Go play ball Sammy. Your time is now.

Still, this really boils down to two games: 1) The Indy game where his feelings were hurt because he didn't get a pass, and 2) The Miami game where he caught a few passes but then was injured in the second half. I hope he succeeds like anyone else and really want him to get passes, but don't start bitching about not getting the ball in two games. The sample size is too small Sammy.

Many have said Sammy is ALWAYS open on the All-22 film. I admit, I don't have access to All 22 film. Is this available to the public or do you need a subscription? I just want to see how "open" is Always Open.

This is all well and good - but you have Matt Ryan, Eli Manning and Dalton throwing the ball. We have Orton, TT and EJ throwing to Sammy. There is a learning curve for TT and EJ which, apparently, Sammy is unwilling to understand. I'm sure the coaches have set plays where Sammy is the primary receiver...but TT and EJ probably (I can't read their minds) see Sammy covered by the #1 CB and look to the second read or TE. I would love nothing more than to see Sammy light it up and get the ball 40% of the time...but it won't happen overnight. While I agree with his comments (Sammy needs the ball), his public outcry ("You're making me look bad") was unbecoming.

Last I heard, Jason Whitten has two sprained ankles and a bum knee... but he's playing. There comes a time where you tell the trainers "yeah, I'm good" and you hit the field. Sammy's been sitting on the bench with Shady a little too long talking contracts (because, after all, that's what this is all about).
