If he throws for 4200 in a season like Orton did (should have if he played EJ's four games) yes. -

I think he's right to a certain extent. Racism is a preconceived notion about another based on religious or outward appearances without considering the background or achievements of that individual in a setting. Honestly, the Orton hate is real and not really racist but borders on it. What did Orton do to deserve this hate other than give us the taste of success we have been clammoring for well over 16 years? -

Not saying he belongs in Canton. But it is called the "Wall of FAME" for a reason. "Fame" as in famous, well known, recognized for positive contributions. I would say having a winning season in the midst of a 17 year drought is the very definition of fame. You disagree. I respect that but his contribution to this team was a beacon of hope during a rather gloomy period of our franchise. -

That's exactly what I've been saying. Even if you calculate an additional four games (wasted on EJ) and then re-extrapolate back to the Thad, Trent and Kolb years, you can conservatively assign Orton 4200 yds passing per season and anywhere from 25-30 TDs with 200-300 yds rushing. The fact that our front office failed to play him for those seasons between 2010-2013 isn't his fault. Guys here are just attacking him for having better stats during the last 15 years than any other team leader we've had at the helm. -
Foot problems again? Julio Jones, Edelman and another guy all have foot problems. The curse of Rex.

A poll is similar to watching a Progressive Insurance commercial. You say "I hate this commercial" and switch channels. By asking you to analyze the stats, you can't logically disagree with my argument unless you don't like ONE winning season in the midst of a sandstorm of mediocrity and failure. So there's the point: either say Yes or No based on our success for that season in 2014 (and keep in mind what we could have had if Orton started week one instead of EJ). -

So you're telling me that KO didn't give you the brightest glimmer of hope in the last 15 or 16 years? 9-7 didn't make you think "maybe...just maybe we have something here"?? There is not one other player who served success on a red, white and blue platter during that 15 year period and yet you gents laugh at him? No wonder he retired. I wouldn't sacrifice my back, body and mental fortitude for a bunch of MMQ's like you fellas. -

Show me another Bills QB who brought us closer to the playoffs in the last 15 years. I'll wait for your proof.... or your apology. -

Thank you for posting this. As others seem to think Orton was a "one hit wonder", this minda shows the passion he had for the game. I'm not saying he was NFL Hall of Fame worthy...but seriously...a guy that gave us a winning record during a tumultuous time in our history, a guy who gave up his physical well being while guys like Stephanie Gilmore were bull fighting WR's and RB's ("Olay!!"), a man who gave it one last go much like Jim Jeffcoat, Haslett and Phil Villapiano. These are the men who should be honored. I know Jack Kemp earned an AFL championship...but that was then and this is a much more complex league. Just look at the numbers. I may be a lone voice in the wilderness here...but it's a voice you all need to hear. If Orton played a full 16 games that season he would still be on our team and we'd have a few rings by now (and Sammy too). -

Longevity has no place in this discussion (with all due respect). That's like saying "he was greedy and wanted big money" should disqualify someone from consideration. Performance on the field while playing for the Bills is the only stat that matters and on a per capita basis, Orton was heads and shoulders above the other scrubs we've seen in the last 15 years. As such, he commands serious consideration, dare I say, respect. -

As I said, if you extrapolate 12 games for 3000 yds to a full 16 game season he would be over 4000 yards. Plus, the ESPN stats show that he got better toward the end of the season so if he played those first games instead of EJ, he would have been in his prime by game 6 through 16. He would have easily surpassed 4000 yards and 28 TD's which is Wall-worthy. It seems some people on here want to reward mediocrity but scoff in the face of gamesmanship and talent. Gone are the days of rewarding success unless that success is packaged in perfect gold wrapping paper with no flaws. -

This is actually proof positive supporting my position. Orton throws for 3000+ yds, takes us to a winning season and just look at the bottom of that screen shot. "Ryan Fitzpatrick throws for 13 of 19 for 135 yards FINAL SCORE!!!" Now that's the caliber of player we've had in the past 17 years. Yet you all denigrate and attack the only QB who has taken us to the promised land of competitive football. "Real" Bills fans reward success; they don't laugh in the face of a competitor. #disheartened -

Hey, I know he didn't come back but if we had retained Marrone I say he would have been here for OTA's and stayed on for another 2 or 3 years. You look at his eyes and see apathy...I look in his eyes and see a fighter ready to take this team to the next level. Whatever...we'll agree to disagree but a winning record is a winning record (especially when he was not given a full season) -

If you consider over 3000 yds passing in a season a joke and a winning record a joke, then we may have a failure to communicate -

3 TD's, 329 yards...I'd say so. When's the last time a Buffalo QB threw over 300 yds? Excellent point.
