You guys can laugh all you want, but in five years you'll see New England, KC and other elite teams with tackles and guards somewhere in the 5'8" to 5'10" range with 44"-46" arms. As the "heads up" tackling method becomes more popular, shorter and heavier players pack more punch than tall, muscular players. We can re-visit this thread in a few years and you can all laugh then....or apologize to those of us who at least have a rudimentary understanding of physics.

I was gone say this exact thing. And - Coach McD and Beaner covet draft picks. They are the Krugerand of the NFL. They dont want to spend draft picks on anything but the draft. Trades are not possible unless someone wants to trade player for player....trading Tub O Goo #99 for an elite WR is not possible straight up. Ill say it again - Low Man Wins. If the defense has 8ft defensive lineman and we have shorter, squattier guys on the oline, we win the battle every time because low man wins (center of gravity, equilibrium advantage). So I dont care how big the defense is because our 5ft10 - 5ft11 o line will win that battle every time and give Tyrod a full field of vision. There is no joking or comedy in aspiring to succeed. That applies to quarterbacks on our wall of fame and grooming this current QB to flourish with a startegically selected o line.

As soon as these knuckleheads understand this concept (which is physics based) the sooner they can appreciate the startegy involved: better run blocking , better protection and clearer sight lines for Tyrod. They can laugh at my theory all they want but if we take our QB / Oline ratio to a -1 or even a 0 or +1 youll see big changes. To get to +1 ratio, well need to replace three 6ft6inch o lineman with three 5ft10 inchers. Probably why the Bills scouts are in CA this weekend.

You are trying to compare apples and carrots...they dont go together. QB play in 2017-2020 requires quick slant passes with stout o lineman who are road graders. Ive never seen a roadgrader tower over the QB. Shorter, squattier o lineman with some junk in the trunk and 44 inch arms will be the new prototype o lineman and Id prefer we stay ahead of the curve on this as opposed to being a follower and trying to find this prototype after they are all snatched up.

I believe EJ has a -1 QB/OL height ratio which is ok. At least he can see down the field. Tyrod has a -5 ratio and that has to change ASAP. Hence McDermotts idea that we ship Cordy Glenn out in exchange for two 5ft10 guards and move Ritchie to the blind side tackle.

Im making the dough Jauronimo cited this weekend and the sauce the others talked about (simple sauce but didnt find San Marzano tomatoes...my source tells me Walmart has them so Ill get some this week). In the meantime, try the non-Hannaford brand of dough at Hannaford. Was excellent. Sprinkled sessme seeds sround the outer crust and used real mozz from deli counter cut thin. Anchovies!!! Amazing. Am ordering a pizza steel this week. Hope it gets here by Friday.

You have to read all my comments. Shorter, stouter is best for visual optics and QB/OL height ratio but have to have the arm length too. 5ft 9 to 5ft10 with 43 inch arms would be ideal. Think Tolbert with Seantrels arms and thats what we need to take the next step.

Arm length. You have the right idea...5ft 9 or 5ft 10 is ideal but need the 42-44 inch arm length which Devito lacks.
