This has been the problem with the Bills since the '90s. Fitzbeard, while lovable and a hard worker is just not talented enough to get the job done. In summary, he is a lovable loser. Take all of Spiller's rookie year and compare it with the handful of games that Starks has played for Green Bay. I would say he has a point. It was a terrible pick. The best running back on this team was an un-drafted guy. Why waste a top ten pick on a running back? I wonder how many coaches were sure things. Seems like Saban was one of those guys that was a sure thing who would have been a star in the NFL. A long playing career does not guarantee success as a head coach. The main difference is that Shanny will probably get fired next year. He has a bad habit of thinking he is smarter than everyone else. It will get him canned in DC just as it did in Denver. He had a QB in Denver with a winning record whom he benched because he is smarter than everybody else. That worked out well for him. I'll be laughing as both Shanny and little Shanny are run out of DC. Regardless of your attempt to minimize the role of a great running back, Elway has 0 rings without TD. Considering the fast that TD could hardly walk but was utilized as a decoy that worked perfectly I would say that he made a big difference. I also believe that team wins without Shanahan.
