Am I reading the wrong height and weight numbers on him? Same height and 12 pounds lighter than Clay Matthews. I know builds can very widely but he isn't very small. 6'3" 243 isn't small. At 21 and 243 he could be at 260 by time he sees the NFL next year with a good training regimen. Like I said though I haven't seen much of him.

The tuck rule is absolutely stupid. There are few things that make me crazier while watching a game than watching a QB decide not to pass and after he almost has the ball tucked in it gets knocked out but it isn't a fumble. How does that make sense? At what point does it change from an empty hand to a tuck rule issue? This is the exact reason why the NFL gets worse every year. Stupid rules. While I am at it, can someone explain a catch to me? At what point are you in control of the ball as opposed to the ground causing a fumble?

I honestly only watched him once this year. I will say that if he can do in the NFL what he did in college, grab him at 3. Easy choice if Fairley isn't available.

Character: Something this team is in desperate need of
Chimp replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man...I feel like I am following you around the board today disagreeing with you. That isn't what I am doing. I do disagree that he doesn't bring character as the original poster defined character. I can however see that you do not like Newton. I got no problem with that. He does however have some of the character that the thread starter seeks. Look at everything around him this year and he led his team to the national championship. Did he have his best game last night? Nope. Did you watch all of his games this year? He had a great season during which they played Alabama and he was a monster in the second half after they got smacked down in the first half. -
That is why I laugh. It's one of those man that is stupid, how pathetic, what a buffoon laughs.

Marshawn Lynch -... Some perspective please
Chimp replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know as their line is worse than the BIlls line. What I do know is this...not all Hawks fans love him. I work with a hawks fan and his assessment is that he is slow and has to be strong because he never hits the hole. I don't think Lynch is a bust per se. If people think he is a 15-1600 yard back then he is a bust but if you look at him for what he is, a slowish power back with limited cutting ability then he looks decent. He isn't going to be LT or AP, but he will be a solid back. It is fun to watch him embarrass DBs isn't it? -
Dave Wannstedt expected to talk to Bills

Have you seen this team? They are strictly a 4-3 team. Watching them play a 3-4 was a joke. -
Is it possible Spiller just can't learn how to pass block?
Chimp replied to ShipUPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. Learning to pass block is not a very easy thing to do when you are trying to read defenses pre-snap. Lots of times you'll end up on the wrong side of the QB and need to get across to make the chip. Not to mention that there is proper technique for blocking that DE or linebacker that happens to be your responsibility. The only worry I have with Spiller is the same thing that happened to McGahee. Remember when he was in college? He could run by anybody until he got into the NFL and bulked up in order to run between the tackles. I want CJ to be able to run between the tackles but I still want a burner. -
I can't stand the jets but Rex does make me laugh. While that may be exactly what he is doing it could backfire badly if he is out coached and embarrassed on national t.v. again.

I agree that they could certainly take Fairley number 1 overall. I wonder how many touchdowns Rivera thinks he will score for them? It's going to take a lot of touchdowns out of their prize DT in order for that team to win. They certainly aren't going to put up touchdowns with that pathetic offense. That's just me really hoping they take AJ Green over Fairley.

Of course nobody in Minnesota is complaining that they drafted a running back. Did you see them play the previous year? I believe they played in the NFC championship game, right? They lost their backup running back and decided to replace him with a good back. They probably thought that the rest of the pieces were in place. I think the biggest beef with the pick is that this team didn't have the luxury of picking a developmental scat back that at best (projection wise) will be Reggie Bush. A number 9 pick that cannot handle 25 carries a game. That means that you spend a top ten pick that spend half of the teams plays on the sideline. If the Bills played in the AFC championship game last year and lost a running back in the off season, then that pick would have made sense. m Rushing Receiving Fumbles G GS Att Yds Avg Lng TD Rec Yds Avg Lng TD FUM Lost Shaud Williams Undrafted 2004 Buffalo Bills 4 0 42 167 4.0 27T 2 3 19 6.3 10 0 1 0 CJ Spiller #9 overall 2010 Buffalo Bills 14 1 74 283 3.8 20 0 24 157 6.5 41 1 5 3 How is that for a waterbug back comparison? For the record, I hope CJ turns into a beast. I like the guy just not the pick.
-
You are incorrect. What he is comparing is 2 rookies. Look at what Green Bay got out of a later round pick compared to Buffalo's number 9 pick. I don't like him, but I think he is correct. If both of them retired today there was no benefit at all of drafting spiller 9 overall. They could have gotten the same production or close from a 6th rounder.

Cam Newton sent for post-game x-ray

No doubt...they had to or they would get killed. Eventually the wheels will "fall off" -

I'm not trolling. You spew things that are nothing more than a biased opinion like they are some sort of fact that everyone should drink up. How do you know he didn't want to be on the field in the 4th? How do you know with a lesser defense he wouldn't have lead his team to a victory anyhow? Ever play with pain? Do you realize you can have pain, really bad pain, with a negative x-ray? Give me a break. Add something to the debate other than baseless opinion. Breakdown a few plays, or stats, and show us what you mean. I have faith in you. -
The pats get quality and quantity. They are obviously better in every possible way than the Bills.

Talk about Marshawn making an impact...
Chimp replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regardless of whether or not Lynch is special...he isn't in my opinion. Can you imagine the scenario that could shape up this weekend? If both lower NFC seeds win their games, the Seaturkeys will host the NFC Championship game. Unbelievable. -

I disagree and think you need to offer proof. I know it is a challenge, but an obvious football expert who should be recruiting high school students or college players shouldn't find it hard. -
good news we still can draft Andrew Luck
Chimp replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could play safety...that would help. I'd look like Cromartie. I got him, I got him, oh screw that...let him score. -

Chimp replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only that, but Michael Vick has been in the league for 8 years so far and will probably play 4 more years before he is ready to retire. Considering the fact that he has already wasted 100 million dollars, I would say you can make a very good living as a scrambling QB in the NFL. -
Cam Newton sent for post-game x-ray
Chimp replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know. Running quarterbacks never last very long. Randall Cunningham only played what...16 years? Steve Young, 15 years. Newton is a smart kid and anyone who questions his "smarts" clearly hasn't watched or listened to anything this year. I would venture a guess that you watched him twice this year and listened to a couple ESPN reports. He isn't a dumb kid. I don't want the Bills to draft him, but he isn't dumb. He has a great arm, is mobile, and is generally quite accurate. -
Are you basing this opinion on one game? Did you watch Fairley all year long? Go back and watch the game again. Splitting a double team because you are that much quicker than the O lineman doesn't mean you were left unblocked. I think PTR must have been watching the screen game and watching something else the rest of the time. Go back and watch the game again and you will see that the comment about him being left unblocked and not shedding blockers is simply unfounded and misguided.

I firmly believe that unless Jim told you that is what happened, you have no idea what you are talking about. Somehow I expected better from you being a senior on the board. I guess I was wrong.

Greer was an un-drafted free agent. McGahee was never horrible, just a horrible offensive line. If you look closely though you will see that he isn't the starter. Lynch was a reach where he was drafted. To date I think that makes 1 big run in his career. Jim Leonard would be the starting safety for the Jets also. I don't know what is hard to see about the majority of the guys buffalo has let go that have gone on to play on playoff winning teams. Name 1 that is the star. Maybe Greer? he is pretty good but name someone that is an absolute stud on his team. I wouldn't say that. he had a couple decent games and a good hit on Favre. Terell Suggs was an outside linbacker/end that was ready to play his rookie year. Merriman was another OLB that was ready to start when he came into the league. They both started on good defenses. I don't think Moats starts on many defenses.
