Franchise QB is not determined by what you are traded for. A franchise QB leads an offense that is better than 30th in the league. Sanchez may be a franchise QB. I think most of the hits he takes are because of the old style. I would say the more hits he takes the more likely he is to stay in the pocket. Slower wheels with every hit.
