  1. I know with Moss we'd have to pay him whatever is remaining on his $6 Mil and change contract - anyone know what we'd be paying Merriman?
  2. Agreed and baffled we're not seeing more threads on defensive discussions. I think Fitz is doing a decent job of keeping us competitive, but you're not going to win any games with the D giving up 30 pts + a game. With our opponents killing us in time of possession and our offense putting up a decent amount of points in the time they're actually on the field, think of the opportunity for offensive production if the Defense could make a stop on 3rd down and get of the f#@kin field, even forcing a couple 3-and-outs would be nice. For once our immediate needs are not the QB or even OL I like the idea of 3-4, but run the freakin 3-4 with a coordinator that is EXPERIENCED in a 3-4, oh ya and 3-4 players would be nice too.
  3. I'm in DC and for the first time in the 5 yrs that I've been down here nobody has given me too much grief - I get more people saying before they die they'd like to see the Bills win a Superbowl. Obviously I would too, better stop drinking and increase the excercise because its looks like we're in for a looooong run before anything like that happens - kind of impossible though because watching the Bills only promotes heavier drinking
  4. I hear ya - I too have a little one that I can't help but dress up in Bills hats, jerseys, etc. I also can't help but think of when she gets old enough to actually understand the game that she'll jump ship to a team thats worth watching. In fact, the last decade of this franchise's performance, decision making, etc has severely stunted its growth in its youthful following. I've been a Bills fans for as long as I can remember, enthusiastically and loyally cheering for them throughout the Superbowls as a kid. I attended the Jim Kelly football camps for multiple years. My childhood addiction to the Bills will be with me forever. Andre Reed, Jim Kelly, Bruce, Thurman etc were my heros. Who do the kids today have to get excited for or look up to? How can the kids today become the die hard fans that we are in 20+ years and how can they be expected to support this team, buy tickets or jersey's or even drive up from a few states away to attend the games?
  5. I'm with you if by "others" you also mean Maybin and Kelsay. On a brighter note I really like McKelvin's play so far this year.
  6. Could be - had to have been something that isn't in plain sight. Was it the right move to bench Edwards after two poor performances? Absolutely. Was it the right move to release him a week later? That's questionable. Yes he's a captain, yes he's been around 4 yrs (not a huge tenure but long enough to be a presence for a good deal of younger, hopefully up-and-coming players as well as veterans) - I think this is a huge morale hit to the locker room. This is a business with professionals not much different than your law firms, construction companies, and financial institutions. When the economy went down the tubes and business decisions were made to let some of the 'players' at the Corp I work at go, there was almost always a short meeting to let us know who was being let go and if need be, why. As impersonal as Trents release was for the players to find out via TV / Internet, I would view this as a lack of value for each and every one on the team. Does Trent have value on the field as a starting QB? No, but its hard to believe he lacks so much value as a 3rd QB and overall team player to warrant his release three games into the season - unless of course there's something about him we don't see and will probably never see. As a General Manager or Head Coach you are a leader - a leader in all aspects of the game, the business, whatever. How you treat your people has a profound effect on the results achieved on the project site, the conference room, or the football field. I don't know, just my take on the game as a business - I think its the right thing to do to communicate on something like this
