Do you want more games in Toronto?
The_Philster replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team is already losing fans because of the Toronto debacle. ..an extra game that does nothing good for the BUFFALO Bills is only gonna lose more. Lose more fans...it'll be a lot easier to move the team ticket money has nothing to do with player salaries. Player salaries are paid for with shared revenue that comes from the NFL as a whole. Shared revenue like TV contracts and merchandise sales go to everyone and the salary cap is about 60% of the amount that each team gets. -

A 2nd game would be nothing more than a money grab. It won't help secure the Bills in Buffalo....it'll drive them out. The whole reason for the series was to draw more interest from the big money in Toronto to come down to the Ralph and buy premium seating down here. People are afraid that the Toronto Series is all about getting them ready to move the team away from Buffalo and doing this is sure as hell not gonna calm those fears. It's also gonna hurt the product on the field....there's no home field advantage up there -
just like people in Maryland still support the Colts? Anyone who supports the Bills if they move has no self-respect or respect for WNY

It would be nothing more than a money grab..which is not what the Bills In Toronto Series was advertised to be about. And as we saw last year, Toronto is no home game. The best it could be called is a neutral site game. Besides the fact that it's a knife in the back to the fans, it sure as hell won't help the team succeed on the field. How many players would prefer a neutral site game over a home game? -
Jets @ Bills in Toronto
The_Philster replied to Rock'em Sock'em's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph doesn't have any control on what the organizers up there want. Yeah...they're looking for a 2nd game...but the Bills organization already told everyone that they had nothing to do with that desire nor have they showed that they're interested in granting that wish. They'd be stupid to...they'd get some money but lose a lot of fan support and they'd have to clear it with Erie County and NYS. The organizers can say they want all 8 games but that would still have nothing to do with Ralph. The only way we can question Ralph at all is if he and the organization show any inclination to grant the requests. -

not happening....they can claim it's not just a money grab with 1 game a year up there..no way can they claim that if it's more than that WNY has lower prices because of our economy...they make a hell of a lot more in the Boston area than we make in Buffalo for the same job. Economics 101 you know what they say about assuming, don't you? -
Rotoworld reports that JP Losman has received no known
The_Philster replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hard to take you seriously because you have to resort to name-calling. The only loser is the person who behaves without class...JP may have problems as a QB, but has more class than anyone who resorts to childish name-calling can't take your post remotely seriously...laziness was never an issue with JP. He tried to succeed but failed...and there've been QBs just as bad or worse...a lot of whom didn't even give the fans as much reason to believe in them as JP did that knock at your door....it's the cops coming to find the crack cocaine that your post provides evidence of agreed. The mind-boggling thing is how we started off 2007. In 2006, we started off pretty conservative and JP struggled with it. When they opened things up after the Bye week that year, he made noticeable improvements. Then they start off the 2007 campaign with the same crap they knew didn't work? Fairchild sabotaged Losman in early 2007. That being said, he had problems later in the season that were of his own doing and couldn't be placed on Fairchild's incompetence...unless it was a psychological thing. -
Will a Thursday Night Game in TO Kill the series

A lot of cable systems are greedy...wanna put it on a Sports Tier instead of basic cable so if you have cable, it's pretty rare that you can watch it. The cable systems claim that they'd have to raise rates too much if they added it to basic cable yet they're full of crap. When Adelphia added NFL Network, ESPNU, and a handful of other channels, rates went up by $2.22 a month. When Time Warner took over, they kept the rate hike but dropped the channels that it was there for. -
Got ours in the East End Zone....I had 4 on the sidelines all locked up but the HOF website lost them...all those page errors...luckily our group went at them from 2 places..when I lost mine, Mikey ordered the ones he had on hold

Bills In Toronto Tickets reduced 17%
The_Philster replied to joe w bags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ooohh...wow..$99 apiece for the cheapest seats in the stadium...makes me wanna shell out my money for that...NOT -
Game tickets aren't on sale til tomorrow. As far as the induction ceremonies, they just started selling tickets beforehand a few years ago. Before that, it was first come, first serve and you could sit anywhere in the stands that you wanted...which was great if you ran into someone out there that you know. Now you have to buy reserved seat tickets beforehand

are you calling Whitner a liar? He's stated that it was his actual Facebook page...even made comments about it in an interview several months ago

Bingo...practicing without a contract is a big no-no per the NFLPA. If he gets hurt, he gets nothing. Under contract, he can get placed on IR and get his full salary Gaughan needs to pay better attention to the NFL than he already does if he meant it to sound that way The person who wrote the article Peters is under contract, Jackson isn't he's not sitting out...holding out or sitting out,..it's when a player who's under contract doesn't report..Jackson isn't signed
-
care to make a wager on that first statement? The salary cap is about 63% of defined gross revenues. TV contract money gets paid to the league, which distributes it to the teams. So if the salary cap is about $126M, each individual team is getting $200M from the league through TV contracts, merchandise sales, etc..all of which is shared around the league.

he moved to FS in the middle of last season, actually
-
salaries aren't determined by ticket money. There's a salary cap that requires that every team spend a minimum amount up to a maximum. Every team gets the same amount of money from the league to cover their player payrolls and then some. If we paid more for tickets (the fanbase, as a whole, couldn't afford it, anyway), it would have no bearing on how much we'd be able to spend on players.

slow...I crack my first beer on gamedays at 6am....some slackers are still in bed
-
Sestak is the first one who needs to get in...Billy Shaw is still the only player in the HOF who spent his entire career in the AFL
-
There's no guarantees that the Detroit home game will be on a Thursday...last year was the first time that's happened in the entire time I've had seasons when there's a neutral site game in the preseason (well, besides that Toronto garbage), there's always 5 preseason games

Ralph Wilson Stadium improvements?

Kinda curious what they plan on doing to Lot 1 -
he definitely should've been on the list...while he wasn't known for making lots of picks, mostly because opposing QBs didn't throw his way, he could make some big plays at times. In 1996, when we faced off against the Cowboys, a play after Bryce Paup played leapfrog over Emmitt Smith to sack Aikman, Thomas Smith jumped in front of a pass intended for Deion Sanders which sealed the win
