TO... Should he stay or should he go?
The_Philster replied to Griswold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seeeeeeeeeeeya I wouldn't be totally upset if he stayed but he hasn't added much on the field...the positive is that he wasn't a distraction in the way he had been in other stops -
The biggest issue with our O-line is injuries. G-C-G should be set for quite a while once Wood comes back from his leg injury....and McKinney and Incognito should provide solid depth The questions are the T spots. Bell's struggled mightily this year when he's actually been healthy. Can he be good? questionable at best. How's Butler going to be when he comes back? He barely got any time at RT before his injury. As far as depth...Scott seems to be the best of a poor lot and he actually quit in a game according to an interview he gave. Meredith might develop and Chambers...outplayed Peters in 2008 but slumped off big time just over the offseason. Went from starting at LG until Levitre was ready to getting cut and was only brought back after Walker was released.

Pro Football Focus' Pro Bowl Squad - Which Bill Made it?
The_Philster replied to Kal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure, Peters was Pro Bowl Caliber last year...in Bizarro world! Moorman deserves it as does Byrd I'd put Wilson and Kyle Williams in on the bubble, though -
All of Bills Front Office moves were WRONG this year
The_Philster replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the key is posting with your head and not your heart. One of the reasons I spend little time on message boards these days (I used to be the leading poster at the Zone) is because it's tiresome seeing people react to stuff without thinking about what they're saying. Let's put it this way...on my way out of the game against the Fish in 96, after Kelly threw picks left and right including one on the final play, I was in favor of benching him for Todd Collins...sounded right for a moment but sounded stupid by the time I made it to the car. As far as being good again, it depends on who we bring in. Ralph wants this coaching hire to be his best. The fact that Russ Brandon went to Ralph and told him we needed to bring in a football guy to run things is promising. Brandon knows his own shortcomings...the trick is getting the right guy. Just like with the draft, selecting a coach or a GM isn't an exact science. -

Let's see Held out until the day before the opener of 2008 great talent was outperformed by every LT in the league as well as Walker and Chambers when they filled in for him he admitted he was thinking about his contract when he was basically playing bullfighter when his QBs were getting sacked Nope...I'll stick with it I generally hold no ill will towards former Bills players in the NFL and root for them to do well on their new teams (just not against the Bills) but Peters joined McGahee as the only exceptions to that rule. If Willis McGahee and Jason Peters both got career-ending injuries (but not life-threatening like Everett's was), it'd be perfect justice in my book for the way they showed their gratitude to Buffalo for giving them their 1st chances in the NFL. -

Couple things They DID bring in a Vet QB backup...Fitzpatrick Losman was pretty much shot...hopefully he can turn his career around but I wouldn't count on it Peters tanked it on purpose in 2008...worst LT in the game last year...we should've had a better plan to replace him, though Maybin...he might be good one day...but not for a while...and you have to get production out of the 11th pick...I totally agree Had they not tried to go with a no-huddle, Walker would still be here...he couldn't hack the no-huddle...poorly conditioned Peters was our worst O-lineman in 08, Dockery was 2nd worst...Levitre very likely will grade out better than Dockery did LBs...injuries were the issue to that group O-line...injuries and a lack of chemistry were the issue. The O-line has to play together to play as a unit and even if we didn't have injury problems there, it would've been midseason before we knew what kind of a unit we actually had AVP...I wonder how we would've done had he been able to install his own playbook instead of going with what Schonert left Interesting note...all 3 teams that switched offensive coordinators just prior to the season struggled mightily, especially on offense. Somehow I think few teams will ever think of making a change like that again -
I don't think anyone's blaming TO for everything...but he's clearly disinterested in playing here (he was clipping his nails on the sidelines!! LOL) and is anxious to leave. He even said that Philly fans were better than Bills fans (even though we still fill the stadium when the Bills miss the playoffs for an entire decade)

Thanks Colts coach Jim Caldwell Had they not tanked the game like they did, we'd have been the game that was flexed...guaranteed

A Few Thoughts About The Game
The_Philster replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Know what's funny? For several years, our strength at O-line was at the T positions with the weakness being on the inside...now it's exactly the opposite -
Jason Peters is smiling right now
The_Philster replied to ThreeBillsDrive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was the worst pass blocker in the game in 2008...more sacks allowed than any other player...so yes, he was terrible. At LT, your most important strength is supposed to be being able to protect the QB and he did that worse than any other LT in the league. And you know why? He tanked it...thought about his contract instead of doing his job. -
Does Michael Vick Still have what it takes?
The_Philster replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has to deserve a 2nd chance first...the lack of remorse he shows by painting himself as the victim rather than the victimizer shows he doesn't deserve one. When he starts actually understanding that he was in the wrong and is genuinely sorry about it, maybe we can talk about him getting a 2nd chance. Until then, I'll be happy to see that coward burn in hell -
1st thing you learn about football....it's the ultimate team game...no QB wins or loses on his own. I guarantee that your criminal hero wouldn't have "won a lot of games" with the teams we've had in Buffalo this decade. JP used to run like Vick always did but was coached to stay in the pocket more...look back to 2005 for proof of this You know where your logic went out the window on your post? The whole killed a person nonsense. No one has ever EVER said that animals were more important than humans. I challenge you to find one instance where someone has said that...nor has anyone implied anything of the sort. Tale of the Tape IntentStallworth had no malicious intent...he made a stupid decision to drive somewhere when he was in no shape to drive and it cost someone's life. Vick spent 6 years committing vicious and sadistic acts of cruelty and slaughter on his own dogs and on dogs that he stole from loving families edge-Stallworth [*]Remorse Stallworth showed remorse as soon as the crime was committed and cooperated with authorities the entire process, even going so far as to try to compensate the victim's family for their loss...a victim who was in the wrong, anyway...crossing far from a crosswalk and coming out of nowhere...a sober person could've hit him just as easily as a drunk one Vick has apologized through a prepared statement and has been involved in programs as a condition of his reinstatement to the league but has frequently tried to portray himself as a victim instead of the victimizer edge-Stallworth So there you have it. It's all so simple when you break things down scientifically. Donte Stallworth, even after spending years playing for the cheating Patriots, beats Mike Vick easily when it comes to who's the better person. If there's room in hell for only one of these two miscreants, Vick's spot in the hellfires is guaranteed

Mobile and strong arm Inaccurate and not good at reading defenses Fits BOTH of them Gotta not only watch them both but find out what local media and fans say and a lot of what was said about Vick before he started taking it up the ass from Bubba was very similar to what was said about JP...except that JP was always a good guy...Vick was a known scumbag even before his organized crime ring was brought to light
-
The Vick question has been answered on the other dozen threads posted in the last month...what part of HELL NO is hard to understand? Losman has the same skill set as Vick and...he's a better leader as well...well, unless leading an organized crime ring is a positive, then I guess Vick has that one nailed down As far as winning games, it's a team game...no QB does it on his own.
-
Not no, but HELL NO...if you're unsure why, look at the dozens of Vick threads posted over the last month
-
be an even bigger deal to be the 1st team to go 19-0 But...they'd technically be the 3rd team to go 16-0...as much as we like to block it out, the Fish did go 17-0 Hopefully, they'll give him the final snaps after the Colts pull Peyton when the Bills pull off the upset win

Does Michael Vick Still have what it takes?
The_Philster replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, he's said he apologizes but then every time he's opened his mouth since then, he's tried to make himself the victim "it's unfortunate this happened to me"....just proof that he made the apology under duress...he'd probably go right back to it if he thought he could without getting caught As far as bringing up Losman, did you ever look at their games? Mobile, strong arm are the positives inaccurate passer, not much for reading defenses are the negatives and they fit both Vick AND Losman. Anyone who supports Vick should be a big fan of Losman as well or they're hypocrites -

Here's a good first step toward being forgiven Actually act apologetic....when you try to make yourself look like the victim instead of the victimizer, you're not asking for forgiveness....you're basically saying !@#$ You to everyone
