  1. I agree. I also put some more weight on Allen this year since he signed his extension. Once you sign on the dotted line to be the man, you have lose a lot of opportunity to upgrade your supporting cast with the expectation you carry a heavier load. This was a cap clearing year for KC. The fact that they hit on all 10 or 11 draft picks will be an issue for the entire league going forward. Cincinnati actually has some benefit in Burrows ACL injury. It allowed them to go out and get Chase. All that said. We need to protect our QB at this point and put him in a position to hold the ball and put up points. Where did you see that? I can’t find it reported anywhere. But found a number of reports that he was knocked out of the game.
  2. I think Tre retires. Just what my gut says. He talked a lot about being more than just football during his ACL. Then seemed extra shook by Hamlin’s resuscitation even amongst his peers. Now a concussion to take him out to the season? I won’t blame the guy. He is my favorite Bill. But I think we could have a hole at CB1.
  3. I actually think there is a good chance White hangs it up after the Hamlin incident. Plus his second concussion today. Love the dude and wish him well. But that’s what my guys telling me. So basically, look forward to another CB.
  4. We likely cannot pay Hines and/or Singletary. So buckle up.
  5. That will also allow us to use any additional roster spots up which gives any of our developmental WR’s the opportunity to try and clear waivers. Which keeps the 7 days between games pretty exciting. .
  6. Part of the issue is that Allen also puts some of this weight on his own shoulders. It’s like him and Dorsey are just trying to do this all by themselves. Both Dorsey and Allen have to be better at getting Allen to release the ball as soon as he hits the top of his drop. Would it kill them to put him behind center when we are throwing the ball every once in a while. I think we likely stay the course with Dorsey. But if Miami were to move on from McDaniels, I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger at OC.
  7. Since all of us are playing mock GM and blowing up this team this offseason, here is a fun thought exercise. What would you give up for Shanahan over McD? And what would it take for SF to say yes? I am guessing they would demand Allen and picks. Maybe even Diggs too? Would you?
  8. I wish we got Knox involved more both today and all season. For all the pressure we saw I’m not sure there was a single ball thrown to Cook either. This staff has been rumbling about pass catching WR for 5-6 years and never throws them the ball anyways. It is stuff like that that makes me have a bit of distrust in McBeane even though I want to believe.
  9. We have something like 23 UFA and are $10M over the cap next year. We’ll have to borrow from the future just to put a team on the field next year. This staff will have to hit on their top 100 picks and get them starting immediately next year.
  10. Hot take: Frank Reich hasn’t stuck around anywhere long enough for me to trust whether or not he’s a very good OC. 2 bad years in SD. One year out of the playoffs in Philly then another year with Foles. He wasn’t the issue in Indy. But also a lot of those decisions fall on him…
  11. Josh’s running was almost entirely contained the last few weeks. The willingness to run Josh isn’t the issue. It is what happens if the run is there.
  12. I think there’s an underlying assumption here that when Josh makes a wow throw it’s because that’s the throw he has to make. I’ll have to rewatch this game, but in the all-22’s I’ve watched this season that isn’t the case. I think Dorsey and Allen are too similar and too aggressive of a pairing. I think he needs harder coaching to get him to operate not just in the confines of the play, but within the limits of the down, distance, series, and game.
  13. Josh has had issues with zone all year. He’s near the bottom of the league. I thought he had some weird responses post game. Granted a tough loss and a lot of emotions. But he couldn’t give one example of one thing they struggled with when asked a couple of times. I thought it was odd. Your brute force analogy makes sense. Allen was Lamar’ed a bit last week. He’ll have to get better with his eyes and reads going forward.
  14. This is actually a major issue. We won’t have any DE’s on the roster and we don’t have any money with a ton of holes at other position groups that needs to be addressed through the draft.
  15. Lots of Groot talk. But the amount of draft and cap capital spent on the DL is insane. The bill is now due. AJE, Harrison Philips, Basham, Rousseau, Oliver. All picked in the top 100. I was as psyched as anybody for the Von signing. But that also meant we were paying top 5 money for another player who was supposed to get after the QB after spend 6 top 100 picks on them with no results.
  16. I meant argument as in “are you there” being a silly response. It’s a fine topic. Leadership is so much more than what happens in the 3 hours between whistles. I’ve lost a lot of respect for a guy who runs out of the building when things are at their lowest.
  17. Likely the Bengals. They helped us with the drought and were a class act the night Damar went down.
  18. Dude what? Start stuff? I simply responded to a claim you made. You said he was a leader of men. I said leaders don’t leave their team You asked me if I was there, and how I would know. I said that’s a dumb response. None of us are there. Then held your statement to the same question, are you there, so how do you know? Now you’re name calling and becoming accusatory.
  19. Are you there? How would you “know” Diggs is a “leader of men”? What a silly message board argument.
  20. Nah, leaders don’t leave their team all alone when things are bad. I got flamed for mentioning it a few weeks ago, but Allen’s metrics against zone are near the bottom of the league.
  21. Gabe gets targeted a lot on low percentage throws. He has a lower catch percentage because of it. That should have been a catch. But he also deserves some more slack than he gets.
  22. My argument for not moving on from McBeane is the Sabres. It’s taken them 12 years to put this team together and they still might miss the playoffs. I am OK with moving on from the coordinators though.
  23. And it’s stunted growth just about everywhere else.
  24. I think Josh and Dorsey have some deficiencies that make each other worse. I think they both love low percentage throws and Josh being good at them means they take a lot of shots at them. On top of that I think Josh probably needs to be coached hard. Otherwise we have a season like this with a lot of 3rd and longs and an offense that just feels like a lot of work. Josh misses Daboll. It isn’t a regression, him and Dorsey are just cowboys out there. I think the weapons are “OK”. They could be worse. I think Shakir is going to be a big player next year.
