  1. I think its time McD take over play calling full time. Start there. Philly runs the same scheme. It isn't a cover 3 issue. It is calling the right defense at the right times.
  2. I would like to upgrade, OG x2 RT WR2 WR3 RB DTx2 DE CB2 SS Should be a busy offseason.....
  3. I think there is room to upgrade/replace both coordinators. But I am really frustrated with the FO that we are in this position. I just don't get how we got so tight against the cap and so many draft picks that have just been role players. We can replace all the coordinators we want, but it doesn't change the fact that we have neglected WR and OL for 4 years and gotten no return on a billion draft picks spent on DL.
  4. Did he call the plays in SD? I think I’m firmly in the “OK?” Column of when it comes to hiring Reich. But I won’t be pounding the table for him. Apparently he didn’t call plays in Philly. Then they sucked when he brought Wentz back to Indy. I would be tempted to think Pederson is the secret sauce based on that.
  5. I’d imagine he stays around Daboll if that’s the case. When Daboll left there were whispers some weren’t happy with some things at OBD. To the extent that Dorsey seriously considered following Daboll rather than working with Allen. I don’t see Webb coming back.
  6. Unpopular opinion, I don’t know what to think of Frank as an OC. He was Manning’s QB coach. 2 mediocre years with the Chargers. One bad year with Wentz, one good year with Foles. Than his recent stint in Indy. Outside of Frank being Frank, what’s the hype as an OC?
  7. On the bright side, anybody on the wait list for season tickets should have little issue this offseason.
  8. Beane deserves an opportunity to get this pointed in the right direction. But for that to happen he has to be a different GM. Fingers crossed.
  9. This. We have heavy cap restrictions and major needs at multiple position groups. Good drafting was supposed to make losing players due to the cap more palatable. Beane has only re-signed Allen and Knox from our top 100 picks. Philips walked. Likely Singletary walks. Ford is gone. Oliver likely walks. I just don’t understand how we are so strapped.
  10. We split the Jets, as as close as we were to being 3-0 against the Dolphins, they were just as close to being 3-0 against us. I don’t think it’s a cakewalk.
  11. I think Bush and their kid spend the year in FL and come up on weekends. All the things I could dislike about Rachel Bush, I think it’s logical to want your husband home all year.
  12. That was the joke. This staff, either McDermott or Beane have been hell bent on getting in a receiving RB. Yeldon had 500 receiving yards the year before getting here but was regularly a healthy scratch. I feel the same about TE2. We rarely target our super athletic TE1. Even if we cloned Knox, it wouldn’t change anything.
  13. This is where I am at too. He looked like a deer in headlights today. Beane has been good for us and the turnaround. But when I look at the Bengals and Chiefs, their recent drafts, and upcoming cap space to keep the train on the tracks I have some major concerns about how we keep up. I am not sure Beane has done anything worthy of being let go immediately. But he’s proven he hasn’t had the ability to keep up? I think he gets another draft before he is on the hot seat. And he has to hit it out of the park. But in his words we are are currently in a bit of cap hell plus compounding bad drafts. Maybe he’ll finally land that elusive receiving RB, and finally everything will come together!
  14. I am super frustrated. I think some seats are likely getting warm for a few people at OBD. But Christ, 11.5 of their last 12 years of hockey ownership makes me terrified to charge them with hiring a new FO/Coaching staff for the Bills.
  15. My “maybe it will all be ok” moment is that we’re a 13-3 team with the QB in place. I don’t know if we have the horses in the stable but we have a chance.
  16. I agree. I feel like I’ve been yelling at the clouds that we haven’t been playing quality football despite their wins. I didn’t love the Miller signing because I thought it best to just sign your own for the next year or two. We invested enough in the DL. At some point you have to live with that and make the rest of the team better too. I also said I wouldn’t blame the team for cashing it in post Damar. And I also stand by that. It’s very confusing because we didn’t just lose, we lost in spectacular fashion because of issues we saw coming since the 2022 offseason.
  17. Beane is not a witch. Beane is a pretty decent GM. You can do worse. I think I’m a little higher on McD here than others. We’ve seen the defense get measurably better; even in game, when McD takes over play calling. I think (hope?) he gives his assistants enough rope and support to both fail and succeed which is good as a leader. I wouldn’t be shocked if we walk away from Frazier. And if we have another draft where top 100 picks don’t see the field more than 1/3 the time, we may see Beane hit the road as well.
  18. I’m tempted to agree with you l but the defense generally levels up when he takes over play calling. I think McD is the CEO of all of this. If he doesn’t move on from some combination of Beane, Frazier, or Dorsey and things get rough he’ll lose the team. No matter how good a coach is, once he loses the roster it is really difficult to get back.
  19. Interesting that Beane did a bit of talking about how “lucky” Cincinnati was to get good by being bad and rookie contacts. …but didn’t mention KC with a QB on his second contract. They also have $15M in space for 2023 and $106M for 2024. So when he says Cincinnatti got lucky, what he really means is “please don’t pay attention to our peers” EDIT: For reference, the Bills are estimated at -$5M and $19M the next two years. Unless KC starts making some major personnel blunders, we’re likely losing a lot of ground.
  20. At the time I was flamed for saying the Miller signing was bad. It was a very expensive fix to a very expensive problem we created. I am glad he is here, but it was just as bad of an allocation of resources 300 days ago as it is today just based on how terrible our draft picks and roster allocation has played.
  21. I am actually upset that he didn’t seem in control and that somehow this season just sort of got away from him. Not that there were/are any major issues with the roster/cap. Like this season and roster just happened to him and other situations/rosters were better based on their luck, and what he did was just fine. .
  22. I thought he looked a bit dear in headlights. When you talk about Brown, Hines, Bernard, the DL, and how tough it looked for this team to just play football for half the year so much of it comes down missing on a number of drafts in a row and poor cap allocation. He said “we have to nail this draft” he knows he hasn’t every nailed his top 100 picks and his time is likely coming near.
  23. McDaniels seems to have the Bills number in year 1. No matter what we do, or who they play, we have had difficulty closing out Miami. The Jets defense is no joke. The Bills could have issues if they find a QB. The division was never a given in 2023 regardless of how the Cincinnati game turned out.
  24. I agree with this. My take has always been that Brees is an all time great QB or Payton is a HoF coach. Both cannot be true at the same time. Firing McD for Payton is putting all your chips on Brees being a system QB. That gives me pause. I believe this is McD’s defense so I am tempted to side with people who say “it won’t change until McDermott is gone”. But we’ve seen McDermott pull play calling away from Frazier in the past and the defense has gotten drastically better. Brandon Beane shouldn’t go without major blame. Arguably as much or more as anybody on the coaching staff.
  25. There’s a huge middle ground between what your complaints are and what Diggs is doing. I agree the team could use some nastiness to it. But this isn’t that. Anecdotally I’ve won 12 national championships (6 coaching 6 as an athlete). I’ve had big fights with my teammates. I’ve had a shoving match or two. I was a bad teammate at one point or another in my career. But I would never leave my team at their lowest. And I certainly wouldn’t double down and just say “what you want me to be ok with losing”.
