  1. The kicker for me is that next year Groot and Miller are the only two DE under contract. We are - $33M over the cap for 2024 right now. Look for one, maybe even 2 DE taken high again. I expect a high pick for MLB as well. OL and WR likely get pushed down the list.
  2. A lot of years I try and let my jersey choice/purchase choose me. I feel pressure to wear it this year but it doesn’t feel like that jersey is picking me. Also, don’t be so bossy.
  3. I have one. But I have a droughts worth of QB jerseys. I didn’t own anything else so the QB jersey is bad juju for me. I do wear it if the Bills are in a funk. It’s a good jersey for my “luck tool box” but it’s not an every game jersey.
  4. The Bills will have to negotiate an injury settlement. He won’t be net zero when the bill comes due for cutting him.
  5. Every year I try and switch my game day jersey. I don’t know what to do this year. Normally it comes to me. I am leaning Tre or the Jeannerett mic sweater. I have an Allen jersey. But I’ve owned a lot of QB jerseys through the drought. So I have some bad juju around the idea. I do pull it out when the Bills are in a funk and it generally does the trick. (You’re welcome)
  6. My criticism actually goes a little further. But I do agree. I don’t like that we: drafted 3 DE in the top 100 recently and only 1 is under contract next year. Meaning we’ll likely have to draft another one high…again. Rinse and repeat for RB. Those are 5 top 100 picks on 2 positions and none will be on the roster. We basically lit them on fire. Over spend in FA. We’ve had multiple years where we had a top 5 paid DL, LB, and/or OL and at no point were any of those units top 5. Maybe DL was at or just outside but we’re splitting hairs. I don’t mind spending, and spending big on position groups. But if you spend top 5 resources (cash/draft picks) you’ve over invested and have a negative return. I think both of these in tandem is why we are so tight against the cap with reasonable cap hits from Allen/Diggs and why I think the team is due for a bit of a step back in the next season or two. You just can’t invest 6 top 100 picks and not have anything to show for it and expect to keep the train on the tracks consistently.
  7. What tailgate does Pinto Ron show up to? NJ and NYC Bills Backers should combine rather than be in two different lots.
  8. The QB contract is starting to flirt with becoming prohibitive. The QB plus superstar WR1 combo is definitely prohibitive in modern terms. (Allen/Diggs are nearly $75M next season)
  9. That’s insane. I don’t know how you field a team with contracts like that. If they have to pay a QB at some point…sheesh.
  10. Dane filled in at a really high level when Tre went down. I thought he was a lot better than Wallace. Then he started the year allowing something like 48% completion and a wildly low passer rating. Then the wheels just seemed to fall off around halfway through. If Jackson finds his form again I think he can be a legit CB2 in the league. Maybe he has found it, and Benford is just that lights out right now?
  11. Is 48% good? I honestly don't know. One thing I think is important to remember is that The Bills are no longer peers to the rest of the league. They operate in a world with KC, Cincinatti, and maybe Philly. So the measure for McBeane isn't "have they done a good job". It is have they done a good enough job compared to KC and CIN (and maybe a couple other teams). We aren't really measured against Pittsburgh anymore. This era of Bills football will go down as awesome no matter how it ends. Sort of like the 2005-2007 Sabres. Great team. Unfortunate injuries and getting flat in the playoffs. But ultimately Lindy and Darcy did great by the franchise in that era. McBeane will likely have a similar reputation in Buffalo sports history if they don't win it all.
  12. I asked around the Jets subreddit, and somebody mentioned that the 50 Club should also come with tickets in section 139, right on the 50 in the lower bowl. I guess I am a fancy boy now!
  13. If I can get a clear sightline to the big screen I am content to hang at the rail. I am a little apprehensive that I will miss a lot of football. Or I will be basically on the field watching the game at a bar next to the sideline. We are really looking forward to it. Ultimately any concern is just me whining.
  14. The OL still feels like a weak spot. Blitz, don't blitz. It still feels like a quick passing game will help our OL whatever the Jets do. I want a better power running game. I am just unsure if we have the hogs on the OL to do it. Here is to hoping though!
  15. Not so worried about the concourse area. I read some stuff online that seems to indicate that their might be actual seats in the stadium associated with the 50 Club? But couldn't confirm one way or the other. Not a huge deal. I am likely just getting excited/anxious. God knows I have watched enough games over the years on the big screens sitting in corners and end zones. If I get to do the same from behind the Bills bench on the field, I will be thrilled.
  16. We have tickets through work in the Metlife 50 Club. It is field level behind the Bills bench. We had a choice between the Pepsi club higher up and 50 Club at field level. We chose the 50 club figuring we would likely never get field level access ever again at the risk of maybe not seeing as much "live football" We are going to get in super early for a two reasons. One is the food, raw bar and filet! More importantly, warm ups. I have to imagine field level behind the bench for warm ups is a blast. Anybody have any experience for the game itself? Will I be hanging out outside or watching the game on TV in the stadium? https://www.newyorkjets.com/photos/the-metlife-50-club-3131626#244c5e07-a1de-46d0-be2f-ae4eb360f9f1
  17. Let me first say that I think scheme fit is a thing, but only relatively, and mostly applies to depth players. I think really good football players find a way to be really good football players in multiple schemes. Scenarios like Wyatt Teller “not being a scheme fit” but being an all pro elsewhere are an issue wither either talent evaluation/FO and/or coaching. Similarly if Elam turns out to be a strong corner in another defense that’s a scar on the Bills org not “the scheme”. You put players in a position to succeed.
  18. Sissy Allen is hung like a power bottom.
  19. We’ve spent a lot over the last few years with a top paid OL, DE, and LB Corp. to never be too 3 at either position group. I think it starts there then add on 3 RB’s and DE in the top 100 over the last few drafts that didn’t quite pan out. Just a culmination of a few things.
  20. Certainly. I’ve just been involved in the Allen conversation so I found myself relevant to the topic and wanted to explain myself. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
  21. On the recent Allen conversation I’d probably be considered to be a hater on this one. I am a bit of a fixer. It’s just sort of part of who I am. The intent isn’t negative. It’s actually positive (for me). How can I/We be better? Fix the things I’m capable of fixing. Just like any personally it has its downside. But it’s also served me well in my professional career as well as my athletic career. (12 National Championships between coaching and competing). I understand it comes across as negative at times which is why I try and re-explain myself at points in certain threads. Love the Bills. Love Allen. My default is to identify points of improvement.
  22. I cut the cord on a ton but not everything this summer. I use Kodi with a VPN and a scraper on my firestick. For movies, shows, etc. it works just as well as any other streaming service. I have run into issues in past attempts but for the most part for some of the later game stuff I wanted to watch out of market it was pretty solid. I got through the recent World Cup with almost zero issues. The feed was great with minimal/no buffering. It is getting a lot better. I would be curious how a Bills game goes these days, but I don't want to chance it.
  23. It isn't even a loss, right? Like sports leagues are not in the red because of it, they are just not making an additional $28B split between networks, streamers, advertisers, teams, and salary caps, right? I would think once you break down all the parties that that $28B goes to, the loss in profit is fairly negligible. The cost for consumption is getting way too high. We have gone from basically free with an antenna, to heading to the bowling ally for $2 beers during blackout games, to needing to spend $100 per month on a streaming service on top of the $100 a month I spend on other streaming services in order to watch my football team. It is bonkers. The model is reaching its breaking point.
  24. Sorry, paraphrasing, I saw the interview as well. I certainly think he watches film. Might have been fast fingers, but what I meant was something along the lines of "not a huge film guy". Which I think is a fair characterization of the conversation.
