No Bills game on home TV in Albany next week vs NE
Mango replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I moved up here in 2019 and I’ve noticed it’s no man’s land. My neighborhood has Bills, Giants, Jets, WFT, Patriots, and Dallas flags. There is a million overlaps in the regional ven diagram. I wouldn’t be so quick to call it Giants country in 2023. -
No Bills game on home TV in Albany next week vs NE
Mango replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t go to Ravenwood in Clifton Park. They told me They won’t be staying open late enough for tonight’s game even though they’re listed as a backer bar. -
1. The absolute most important point here is you 100% should not be allowed to call yourself a Bills Backers Bar, and be listed on any “official” BBB website if you don’t show the full game. If you cannot afford to be open for a Bills game you cannot be listed as an official backers bar. Full stop. 2. Liquor laws aren’t in issue in the capital region of NYS. They can serve until the wee hours of the morning.

A buddy is playing hockey across the street from a listed Bills Backers Bar in Clifton Park (Albany-ish). They eat there after the game all the time and we’re meeting a new GF who is going to watchZ But their hours say they close at 9. I think that can’t be right on game night but my partner is antsy and asked me to check they’d stay open. So I call… The kitchen and bar will close at 9. I asked them to check with somebody in charge, they have BoW, Blue Light, and Bills logos all over their social media. They told me that since it’s a nationally televised game they won’t stay open. How can you expect to draw a crowd if you can’t consistently be counted on to show the game. This has to be the worst Backer Bar in the country, right?

Great news!! You can bring your miniature horse to the game!

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Mango replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
For me the NFL TV broadcast has become so focused on the LOS and the ball that I almost never see what’s happening in the play until I watch the A-22. It also feels like replays have gotten worse and worse. Sure there are some cool close up shots. But it seems like there are less replays play to play. And god for I’d we see the replay of every flag. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Mango replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t get me wrong, I like being low in the lower bowl, it’s super exciting. But I see the best football sitting up higher. I love it. I would much rather be high up in the 300’s between the 20’s than anywhere in a corner/endzone. -
Let me start by saying that I don’t think Diggs has been an issue whatsoever this year. (Since OTA) I also strongly disagree with his behavior in the playoffs and OTA’s. I’ll comment on the general conversation here. For all the “what about Jordan”. Jordan is a total ash hole. Everybody knows it. Everybody knew it then. And everybody knows it now. Nobody says Jordan’s behavior was good. He’s a total dick. Most of this board spent 20 years talking about what a POS Brady was/is. These are really bad examples because 1. Most here think both these people suck as humans. 2. They are the undisputed GOATs at their sports. Basically if you’re Chris Hogan, you better be the nicest person in the room. If you’re Michael Jordan and transcend the sport you play you can do what you want whenever you want and people will put up with it. Diggs falls somewhere in between. Walking out on your team is a Jordan move and Diggs ain’t Jordan so he gets more flack. It’s that simple.

I don’t think the helmet to helmet was “intentional” but that absolutely deserves an ejection. Watching Moore on the ground and getting up was very scary and highly preventable.

Last year I think home teams were only getting 1.5.
-
I think this was always a bad match up for Tennessee. They can’t score any points. They can’t sustain drives. They’re big, strong, and play good defense. But the Ravens aren’t just explosive they’ll grind it out and pound the shirt out of the defense. I think the Ravens are sneaky good this year. I really wanted them to kick that FG.
-
Fair point, but I also don’t think championships need to be neutral. But it is more important to a one and done game too. Worth noting that home field advantage in the NFL has been on the decline since before COVID.

The Lamar hate is out of control. He’s a good player. People act like you’re either Allen/Mahomes or you suck. Also OP started this GDT to cover up his criticism of the league only to start a thread about that a few minutes later. His whole schtick is everything sucks and everything’s the worst. And if it is t the worst the world is out to get us.

I have always thought the higher seed should host every year. No different than any other American sport.
-
We’re not even through the first quarter and the Ravens are a much faster team than the Titans any day of the week on any field on the planet. I also think the Ravens are a very good team flying a bit under the radar this year. I have little faith in the 2023 Titans. There is a reasonable discussion to have around this but a 3-3 game in the first quarter and a “faster” Baltimore team isn’t great evidence of anything at all.

I mean, he stormed out of the building after the Bengals game. Then there was the whole hoopla around camp. The next time Brady or Bill refuse to meet with the team after a bad game give me a call. I’m glad it’s going well. But this isn’t just about tossing a tablet. It’s about those two large gaffes and now everything else is being piled on. It doesn’t mean everything is a sign of something terrible happening. I think the London thing was a total nothing burger. But Stef has also done some things to create some smoke, so people are quick to yell fire. I wish it would go away. I don’t think this moment was a big deal. But I also get why he is under the microscope. It is what it is. All we can do is create enough good credit to make it go away.

I agree to an extent. Some things get wonky when one person roles into the other. But COO and General Council are both fairly high on the totem pole. The issue I think is the general council more so than a workplace violation. I worked somewhere where our SVP of Sales dated and married our general council. They were basically told “we can’t keep you both, it’s a conflict.” And we let the GC go. Assuming they were fairly forthcoming about it I’d give them time to work it out.

My thought is that Diggs is spelled with 2x g's.
-
There is no way they let BB go mid season. And he won’t ever be “fired”. He’ll “retire”.
-
Elam and Benford are the youngest guys in the room in their second year. Everybody else is in between their 4th and 11th seasons. This isn’t a young team. And it is definitely not a young secondary. There is no need for “veteran presence in the DB room”.
-
Elam felt a lot like Leodis McKelvin. Regularly in position, but had no idea when or where the ball was coming from. McKelvin was an idiot, Elam seems much smarter. This feels like something he can get better at with more playing time. I would rather work through that issue than try and get 57 year old Josh Norman to drink from the fountain of youth. We'd be better off spending our time trying our hand at alchemy. Honestly. Norman has absolutely nothing to offer at this point.
-
It has been a minute, but it feels like Josh Norman was toast in 2020. There is absolutely no way that he is the best option. Zero.

Kincaid in concussion protocol, Knox has a wrist injury
Mango replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think getting Cook, Kincaid, Harty, and Sherfield a minimum of 2 catches per game forces the defense to cover everybody, which should help open up the run game and make life easier on Diggs, Davis, Knox, and the RB stable to spring some big plays in bigger moments. I don't need everybody to be awesome. I just need them to get the ball a few times to keep the other team honest.- 107 replies
