  1. These guys are just so big and fast. Bigger, faster, stronger than ever. It seems like it puts these guys in such dangerous positions. The amount of very scary injuries the last few years have sort of feigned my interest.
  2. There have been a few bad match ups that turned into football games this year. But there’s something about this one that’s making it tough for me to get into.
  3. Happy Birthday Jimmy. Congratulations on your career as a starter being over! Best Wishes, Las Vegas
  4. Fair technicality. I appreciate this.
  5. I think you see this with vets with the new PS rules post covid. Where a guy like Fournette, AJ Klein, or even Manzc might prefer the Buffalo practice squad. But a young guy in the league will almost always take his shot.
  6. At one point in my life I was a very very fit, 6'2, 160 pound, 20-something year old who likely couldn't run a 40 in 5.04. I am always amazed how twitchy these NFL players are. It is remarkable.
  7. Taron Johnson is actually likely a good candidate for an extension this offseason. His deal, like many, is backloaded. His cap number is $12.5M next year, which is way too high. I suspect we see the team cut Hines and Morse then extend Allen, Douglas Johnson. All 5 of those should free up about $25M +/-. I think Tre is a heavy cut candidate this offseason. And that really really hurts me to say, but it frees up another $6M. If the team can, I think they keep him, but we need to free a total of $41M right now.
  8. For a good number of Bills draft picks, they aren’t allowed to get better by playing, or be decent on early on a rookie contract. They’re required to sit behind some free agents until they’re a free agent. Once you go from rookie deal to extension, then and only then, can you grasp the Buffalo Bills.
  9. For the most part I trust McD's DB evaluation skills. I question a lot of roster moves, but I think I will sit tight and see how this one plays out. I have a feeling he will be a player.
  10. Not the least of which is Carolina in 2020!
  11. I think if he gets extended and plays well it is good value. If there is a negative it is getting some production out of a third round pick at a third round price or not getting a second year from him. We also never seem to get much value out of rookie contracts. I have to imagine that one of Benford/Jackson starts next year and this could be more of an indictment on Tre.
  12. You can't/shouldn't do half of what you said. The Saints were $100M over the cap last year because they botched...well everything. And yes they are under the cap. But the part you left out was that they blow. Morse is a likely cut not restructure. Leaving a huge hole at starting center. Tre saves us $6M but still leaves a whole at starting CB. Von won't be restructured without an extension. He is $25M AAV from now until eternity. Von is a likely cut candidate after 2024. A restructure destroys that. Diggs has no reasonable restructure without an extension. His contract is about $25M per year until 2027 when is 34. There is no way you extend him now. Adams is basically the same as Diggs, but way worse. You either extend him immediately (past 34 years old) or you have to cut him after 2024 for a $15M cap hit. Allen will only realistically be restructured with an extension. I expect this this season just to get us by without spending on a high priced receiver. Where I do think think the Bills could make a major move this offseason is JuJu. He has been trash in NE, they have hi, right now, but NE isn't good either. I would consider maybe a 4th but I wouldn't do it if I couldn't immediately extend him for less than $10M AAV.
  13. Since it is a buyers market, I wonder if anybody is interested in a 34 year old edge rusher, with zero knees, and about $24M AAV left over the next 4 seasons?
  14. All of that is fine. But there is a piece missing. Bills are $33M over the cap as it stands right now. Adding Adams puts the Bills $50M over the cap. Now you have to spend at least some money to replace 5 starters and 20 other roster spots whose contracts expire. To do this the Bills would have to clear at least $65M or $70M in cap space, getting rid of even more starters than just the UFA I listed. None of which save them money for 2024, because they aren't on the books. If you want to have a conversation about whether or not it is worth it for 1 year, this year, sure. I think there is some validity. But if the Bills do it, they will struggle for a couple years. New Orleans and the Rams are two fairly recent examples of teams going all in, and then needing a full tear down/reset starting in 2024.
  15. The Eagles have a lot of space next year with some big extensions still yet to come. Also, Hurts is fairly cheap against the cap until 2026. As an aside, I think Hurts is a flawed passer/decision who got a huge payday because of his supporting cast. If he doesn't get a lot better by the time the bill comes due, I think the Eagles will struggle.
  16. Aren’t we all just bots in gods image anyways?
  17. I agree. It’s certainly the last and only of the “all in moves” at this point.
  18. So do we know if it’s real then?
  19. Step 1: it’s an account. Check! Step 2: is it a fake account?
  20. Right, but is it fake? I didn't see it mentioned earlier.
  21. Ok Turk, we get it, you have friends. No need to rub it in.
  22. Guys, is this a fake account?
  23. Right, if we walk away from 4 or 5 starters on defense, plus some heavy rotational players, then cut some other players, and give all that money to Devonte Adams, yes we can be under the salary cap. But no we cannot field a competent NFL defense. Just about every NFL team could walk away from a bunch of starters and fit two high priced WR's. That has never been a problem. The problem is that it isn't a great idea.
  24. Right, but the post I was responding two just said "Just give him Tre's money". This is going to be an interesting offseason for Buffalo.
  25. They can't just erase the contract. They can cut him, which comes with a penalty, but ultimately a $6M savings for 2024. We would still need to find another $10-12M.
