  1. I didn’t see the last game he was in for. The kid likely sucks. I get it. But also I’m not sure I’d call him woeful after 3 pass attempts either. They have to find a way to get him going at least a little bit. They’re only going to make it worse if they never let him throw the ball.
  2. Hyatt, the Giants WR has got to turn around. DeVito can throw can chuck it. They won’t let him throw the ball. The kid just wants to make a play. I feel for him. I think the Giants need a full reset.
  3. This O’Connell guy looks like fat Derek Carr with a helmet on.
  4. I have to imagine he’s done for the year. The original injury was non-contact. Now he can’t even drop back on it. Feel for the guy. But that team is a disaster all over. Enjoy the rest dude. Anybody behind center will only build bad credit.
  5. I think the Giants have a lot that is wrong both coaching and personnel.
  6. I honestly thought the Giants would bring the game to Vegas. What an idiot.
  7. This is where I am at. I don't even think they need to tackle in practice. But they can do a lot of 7 on 7. Get stretched daily. Watch film.
  8. I truly believe the league can mitigate in a very measurable way by having these guys in house far more often.
  9. It was actually last nights broken leg and spinal chord injury that got me thinking about it. The data also seems to check out. Injuries have been on the rise for quite a long time. I am tempted to go down the course of body maintenance. Not that these guys aren't working in the offseason. But that they are relying on too much improv early in the season. They aren't getting enough live reps against NFL competition. I am all for keeping padded/tackling in practice to a minimum. But I think there is a huge advantage to being in an NFL training room, running routes, getting stretched, and working in a complete cycle with your staff.
  10. Injuries significantly doubled from 2014-2018. Nearly doubled. https://www.weisspaarz.com/nfl-injuries-over-five-seasons/ Injuries decrease as the season progresses. https://www.kaggle.com/code/jaseziv83/an-analysis-of-nfl-injuries
  11. I think it goes well beyond the Bills. Even if we are healthy, it feels like I am seeing a season ending injury in most games I turn on.
  12. It feels like the NFL is starting to run into a huge injury problem the last few years. And not just a strain here or a sprain there. But full on spine, concussion, ACL, achilles etc. It seems almost weekly at this point. As an NFL lifer it is becoming a bit of turn off to have all these seasons and careers cut short/ruined. It isn't great for the product. I think there are a few problems/solutions: 1. These guys are absolute freaks, who are barely required to be in team facilities outside of the season. Having all these guys out there more or less winging it is just becoming irresponsible. For reference, most injuries occur in the preseason and first 4 weeks of the year. Spiking in the first COVID season 2020-2021. I normally side with the players on most things CBA. But the league has to get these guys back in the facilities. They don't have to hit, or wear pads. But they can work on the sleds, running routes, weights, stretching, watching film. No reason guys can't be back in the facility 4 days per week May 1. 5 days June 1. Then run training camp like normal. I think practice time is probably the biggest contributor. 2.. These guys are bigger, faster, stronger than ever. The body can only take so much. It can take even less when its artificially made. Steroids and HGH are likely at an all time high. For player safety and longevity they likely need to find a way to clamp down a bit. 3. Switch to grass league wide. EDIT: Injuries significantly doubled from 2014-2018. Nearly doubled. https://www.weisspaarz.com/nfl-injuries-over-five-seasons/ Injuries decrease as the season progresses. https://www.kaggle.com/code/jaseziv83/an-analysis-of-nfl-injuries
  13. I think this Levi kid certainly flashes. He has good touch and very calm in the pocket.
  14. These guys are just so big and fast. Bigger, faster, stronger than ever. It seems like it puts these guys in such dangerous positions. The amount of very scary injuries the last few years have sort of feigned my interest.
  15. There have been a few bad match ups that turned into football games this year. But there’s something about this one that’s making it tough for me to get into.
  16. Happy Birthday Jimmy. Congratulations on your career as a starter being over! Best Wishes, Las Vegas
  17. Fair technicality. I appreciate this.
  18. I think you see this with vets with the new PS rules post covid. Where a guy like Fournette, AJ Klein, or even Manzc might prefer the Buffalo practice squad. But a young guy in the league will almost always take his shot.
  19. At one point in my life I was a very very fit, 6'2, 160 pound, 20-something year old who likely couldn't run a 40 in 5.04. I am always amazed how twitchy these NFL players are. It is remarkable.
  20. Taron Johnson is actually likely a good candidate for an extension this offseason. His deal, like many, is backloaded. His cap number is $12.5M next year, which is way too high. I suspect we see the team cut Hines and Morse then extend Allen, Douglas Johnson. All 5 of those should free up about $25M +/-. I think Tre is a heavy cut candidate this offseason. And that really really hurts me to say, but it frees up another $6M. If the team can, I think they keep him, but we need to free a total of $41M right now.
  21. For a good number of Bills draft picks, they aren’t allowed to get better by playing, or be decent on early on a rookie contract. They’re required to sit behind some free agents until they’re a free agent. Once you go from rookie deal to extension, then and only then, can you grasp the Buffalo Bills.
  22. For the most part I trust McD's DB evaluation skills. I question a lot of roster moves, but I think I will sit tight and see how this one plays out. I have a feeling he will be a player.
  23. Not the least of which is Carolina in 2020!
  24. I think if he gets extended and plays well it is good value. If there is a negative it is getting some production out of a third round pick at a third round price or not getting a second year from him. We also never seem to get much value out of rookie contracts. I have to imagine that one of Benford/Jackson starts next year and this could be more of an indictment on Tre.
  25. You can't/shouldn't do half of what you said. The Saints were $100M over the cap last year because they botched...well everything. And yes they are under the cap. But the part you left out was that they blow. Morse is a likely cut not restructure. Leaving a huge hole at starting center. Tre saves us $6M but still leaves a whole at starting CB. Von won't be restructured without an extension. He is $25M AAV from now until eternity. Von is a likely cut candidate after 2024. A restructure destroys that. Diggs has no reasonable restructure without an extension. His contract is about $25M per year until 2027 when is 34. There is no way you extend him now. Adams is basically the same as Diggs, but way worse. You either extend him immediately (past 34 years old) or you have to cut him after 2024 for a $15M cap hit. Allen will only realistically be restructured with an extension. I expect this this season just to get us by without spending on a high priced receiver. Where I do think think the Bills could make a major move this offseason is JuJu. He has been trash in NE, they have hi, right now, but NE isn't good either. I would consider maybe a 4th but I wouldn't do it if I couldn't immediately extend him for less than $10M AAV.
