On the other hand this is also a strong arguement against playing a short week.

This. I have hated him in coverage. But I will say he’s had a good two weeks. I am not willing to go all in on him yet.

It is so so strange. I think it’s all because of one line “destiny is calling me”. But other than that it’s one of the weirdest song choices lyrically speaking.

“Reggie White doesn’t get enough credit” - JJ Watt Maybe it’s my own echo chamber, but isn’t Reggie White almost universally considered on of (if not) the best pass rusher of all time? He’s mentioned in the same breath as LT and Bruce all the time.

11/17/24 Game 11 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Chiefs post game Thread
Mango replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The snap counts for KC are interesting. Hopkins played less than 50%? Worthy was basically benched after not getting in bounds on what was a bad throw. I do think KC played some things close to the vest. -
Good for Cook. But man, Brandt is really just a one trick pony. It is like everytime he speaks he is doing another failed audition for the WWE.

It has nothing to do with the "Oh we can't catch up with the Chiefs". I just don't think it matters all that much if we do. What does matter more to me is being healthy in January and I would rather lose this game, keep everybody healthy, and keep playing our cards close to the vest. If we are missing all of our best pass catchers this game we will likely have to reveal every possible wrinkle in both our offensive and defensive playbooks. I would rather keep it simple, keep it healthy, and move on. I am certainly not advocating a loss, but I also am not sure I view this as a "win at all costs" kind of game either. That said, if we can beat them with our practice squad receivers that wouldn't be such a bad thing either...

There is part of me that thinks of Coleman, Kincaid, and Cooper can’t go, treat this like a pre a season game. Come out of it healthy and put nothing on tape.

For guys who are career backups, ending up in the wrong situation can tank your career. Being a "fine/meh" player who never dresses can tank your next contract. The Bills signed him because he played well when called upon. He would have a hard time getting a shot next year without getting any film this year.
-
He hasn’t just not played. He’s been a healthy scratch on a bunch of occasions. The only thing I can think is that McD has a ton of trust in Hamlin to call the defense from the secondary. So strange to not even give the guy snaps. Like at all. This is kind of like us signing/trading for receiving RB’s only to never throw them the ball. The org makes a lot of good decisions but I think this is a bad one.

But also definitely don't tip tendencies in the pregame pressers. It is an obvious one, but if it were my DC I would be rolling my eyes. Just STFU and do it.

Ya know, I was just saying last week while watching the 1pm NYJ vs NE game "Ya know what this Jets team is missing, cayenne pepper!" Everybody at our party laughed at me. But they don't know ball. Who is laughing now Steve! WHO IS LAUGHING NOW!!!! It occured to me that this could be one of those pre-emptive cover up situations where Rodgers may test positive for something and he gaslights people by saying "It is just medicine, totally not steroids, extremely high levels of cayenne pepper and other natural medicines can trigger a positive test for xxx". Rodgers kind of reminds me of one of those preachers who screams about gay people burning in hell, only to find out he spends every Saturday covered in glitter at the Cathode Ray. He is that, but it's whale sperm/HGH.

Why stop there? Is Zach Ertz available?

Brady under fire for calling Josh a "spaz" on Sunday's broadcast...
Mango replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is the second game I have caught with Brady. He is getting a lot better at the play by play stuff. He is still super awkward doing the sideline stuff. I said it in another thread, he would likely be at his best doing a simulcast or podcast on the nuts and bolts of each play for both teams. Honestly Fox, ESPN, or Paramount should be doing this as part of their paid for streaming package. They all have former QB's as part of their crews. Getting two hours of film review from Romo, Manning(s), and/or Brady is definitely something I would be willing to pay for. -
I mean the GQ interview he says teams didn’t want to move on from him, that he was moved because he wanted to move. And in the case of Buffalo, he knew that was the case at the start of the year.

I personally never liked Jim Kelly. He’s a noted woman abuser. He spent years crapping on this town all the time then asking us for money for Hunters Hope when the cameras were on. I feel bad for his cancer diagnosis, his children, etc. I didn’t mention Kelly or Bruce. Those guys are HoF’ers and are tattooed into the fanbase because they weren’t just great Bills but at the time all time greats at their positions. I specifically mentioned Fitz, Tre, and Stevie because that’s a different class of entrenched Bills fandom largely based on their personalities not their production in red white and blue. (The “don’t want to date your daughter” was a locker room vote. If you don’t like it bring it up to his teammates)
-
There is a common denominator among some of the Bills players who have entered the fan base is that while they were here they had these giant but soft personalities and really embraced the city and its fans. When thinking of guys like Fitz, Stevie Johnson and Tre White come to mind. To a lesser extent you could even throw Shady McCoy into the mix. But Diggs on his worst days here was very cold to the city, and on his best days “fine”. Fitz is a guy you wish you could invite to your kids birthday party and Diggs is a guy nobody wants to date their daughter. Also, you think he’s going to be there the opening weekend for the new stadium? HAHAHAHA
-
You think Diggs is gonna fly in to stand outside for cold weather games shirtless? Or publicly say that Buffalo was his favorite team? Is he going to start showing up to press conferences goofily wearing his teammates clothes? Maybe while he recovers he can grow a beard many believe to be a national treasure? There is no way, no how, that Diggs ever loves this team and these fans the way guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick does. Zero. He can’t because he’s wildly self absorbed. And because of that he’ll never be in the same club as guys like Fitz.

Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards
Mango replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
Phenomenal catch for the TD. I was actually shocked he didn't catch the first one at the opposite pylon since he is so strong, but I wouldn't say that about most receivers across the league. Kudos to the defender on that play. To follow that up by stealing the ball from what should have been a PBU was awesome! Those are the plays he was brought in to make and he is not disappointing. -
He has to have the worst hype:production ratio in the league. Maybe ever. It has been a decade and he tops headlines and has not once had a double digit sack season.

Sam Darnold and other QB resurrections
Mango replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Alex Smith has to be the most obvious/drastic QB to ever resurrect their career. At least in the 21st century. -
Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread

Not that Brady is super charismatic, but I feel like taking a guy like TB and putting him on a network is like asking a stand up comedian to host a "yuk yuk" morning drive time radio show. They aren't the same skill set whatsoever. Chris Collinsworth is Nikolas Pickalas and Tom Brady is Chris Rock. Every once in a while somebody like Romo hits it out of the park and is Shredd/Ragan. He would probably be better on something like a more straight laced Manning cast that takes a deeper dive into x's and o's. Or a podcast with a professional host where they breakdown film. These are situations where I wish they would be able to adjust and use Elam more situationally where we can commit another defender down low and give Elam some reps in man. -
Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread

I am not complaining about it. The conversation was about people saying "well who did the Bills beat?" My response was along the lines of "That won't change much, the Bills remaining schedule is pretty easy" (at the moment). To your point, and getting in the weeds a bit, I would be a bit concerned about us in the playoffs basically trouncing the bad teams and all of our loses were like our first two. An 11/12 win season is great, but in the context of the goal for a team like Buffalo, reaching 11/12 wins but getting worked by every team with a winning record would be bad and a reasonable talking point amongst fans and pundits. We aren't there yet, so it isn't a big deal. But I think we have to make sure we also start beating winning teams too.
