  1. Easy. Because Lee Evans is getting the safetys to roll over to him. Andre Johnson is a product of another better reciever
  2. the last few qb classes seem super sub par. the guys who where picked high and are supposed to be the replacements for the Brady's and Mannings simply arent cut from the same clothe. Eli is good but nowhere near great. Rivers plays well, but are always coming up short, and being out west makes it difficult to follow. Alex Smith and David Carr are out or on their way out. I wish Big Ben was in jail. Romo might be the most overated player of all time. Sanchez is borderline awful on a good team. Stafford has the guts but cant stay healthy. Freeman might turn out to be the best in his class. How many times does Warner have to ride the bench or play in the Arena league to realize he is a HOFer. How long did/should Garcia have started. Kitna is pretty well in Dallas. For all the hype about new comer Kolb, a guy fresh out of prison could be league MVP. The NFL has a serious issue heading there way, and that is their product seems to be depreciating with every draft class. Injuries are up because players are no longer skilled. QB's cant read defenses to keep their team mates safe, and recievers dont know where to be or where the wholes are. As steroids become more prevelent, teh job of the OL backpedaling while holding off a 350 lbs d-lineman become more and more difficult(this is the reason for the 3 yard rule in the CFL) The NFL/Teams put no stock in investing in an athlete and progressing their investment. With the abilty to cut a player with little to no contract or monetary loss, franchises have a revolving door of performing right now, rather than protecting their 50mil(bradford). with college ball becoming big business, it is all the same. recruits come in, cant perform transfer, quit, drop out. hell auburn offers a class every year worth credit hours toward a degree that helps them find agents, and handle the draft. i love watching football, but i would say that the product on teh field across the board is going down
  3. that is actually common in the ncaa. especially if you want to be drafted highly. how often do we talk about number of starts when looking for qbs? i dont know a ton about whats going on with him, but i would remove this from any arguement
  4. i heard buddy like cam newton. why would he go locker/mallet when cam can be had much later than a top 5 pick
  5. god they are 2-7, if this isnt a winable game(regardless of result) we have more problems than we thought
  6. while kelly was great, the guys who love numbers would not like him. he had a bunch of seasons throwing for under 50% and his td-int was regularly around 50/50. the win column is what made him good
  7. NFL franchise wont be dictated to the design/color scheme of their jerseys. god the giants and cowboys have been the same forever. that wont change with a switch to nike. college ball is different too. you have some schools like wisco that goes through addidas, oregon goes through nike. i am sure there are some reebok sponsored schools. i know ub has been back and forth from nike and addidas, those jerseys never change. nike holds the right to make the clothing for what the nfl teams ask them to make, they dont hold the rights to pay kraft, jerry jones, and al davis what to do. these are nothing more than ideas. some teams might make some changes to their uniforms, but i expect to see pretty much the same thing you see this year. i would bet that no teams will switch to anything posted on that blog
  8. i dont know what was called there watching the link. Byrd was lined up on the other side of the field and rolls to the top of the screen covering the reciever at the goal line. it looks like whitner is lined up at the line almost next to poz. i am not sure the call there, but resulted in a burnt poz and whitner caught underneith, with byrd playing overtop the other reciever in the endzone. it looks likes either byrd made the wrong read, or maybe a safety blitz that whitner pulled up on and dropped into coverage, and poz was beat. but that doesnt make much sense since whitner was rolling over to the bottom of the screen doubling which ever reciever that was. it looks like a blown coverage call to me.
  9. i dont want mallet or locker. not worth the controverys. neither is an upgrade over what we have. i would take newton in a 3rd or 4th, or if by some chance locker and mallet fall that far. this draft has 1 qb and it is luck. everybody else is a waste for what this franchise needs behind center
  10. because he gets eaten up on the off time he runs between the tackles, and is a huge liability in pass protection. i am far less upset by the amount of touches he is getting, and more upset with the way he carries the ball and reads plays
  11. 1. absolutely 2. i have given whitner some passes in the past, but i have been paying alot of attention to him lately. most blown coverages or wide open recievers are either misreads or plain getting burned from none other than donte. he needs to go 3. fitzy is currently ranked number 2 in the league. while he may not be the answer now, he is not even close to the biggest problem on this team, and it seems to be shaping up that, neither is the oline. we need to draft defense, then more defense, and defense again. 5. stevie is tied for 5th in teh league in td's, beating evans(12th) in both yards and td's. i am not calling him super star, but i think it is ok to say he is good 6. agreed kelsay over whitner 8. i am always waiting for more from spiller. while i am not calling it a bust, i am not impressed. for a guy with breakout ability he hasn't done much of that. just because some people on here get butterflies when he touches the ball, does't mean defenses do to. god i hope he pans out to be great 9. offense is night and day different, gailey mentioned it in the presser, we finally played 4 quarters of football. havent done that in a while. defense is putrid 10 AND 11. YUHS!
  12. I hate you regardless of the dropped int from whitner, he blew hard all day. he was a huge liability. we need to draft defense
  13. Rookie QB is not the answer. Draft our guy that is fine. Let him ride the bench for a few years behind Fitzy. They guy still has some game in him, but is getting older. Let him teach the kid and wear himself out. Not to mention he is more than capable of putting up some points. Think of it this way...as bills fans, beggars can't be choosers
  14. What i really get from watching Fitz is he may not be the bet starting QB, he is serviceable. If the Bills think there is a better pick at OL or DL with their first. Lock Fitzy up for a few years, bite on a QB the following year/do what it takes to get your guy down the road. Its not like getting a QB next year is a make or break.
  15. haha wow. the school system really failed you. please elaborate more on these ballads you speak of, and how they relate to the pro football hall of fame. i am intrigued
  16. site talks about using a mississippi area code. wasnt it a big deal that favre was talking to the vikes, because the nfl uses team issued phones, so there would be no mississippi area code it would be nyc correct. I just find that point flawed, which would explain why nobody else has picked it up. also it is hard to take it seriously when all of a sudden they ask if "this is favres c0ck." then proceed to show me a bunch of man meat. doesn't seem terribly professional ps who cares
  17. whoever we draft should sit behind fitzy for a few years, either that OBD makes a promise to sit on the current coaching staff for the next few years and we just let the rookie take his blows. if we dont do either we will flounder with who ever we draft
  18. i have posted on this a bunch before. I have seen him play, I don't think his arm is too weak to play good nfl ball. i didn't realize his height. that is a huge HUGE concern
  19. I am not sure why all the love for Spillers play. I think in the first 3 games he has been the least productive back. I know he has 2 TD's, That was a great return, but the screen was avg. But who are we to start critsizing points. His pass blocking is god awful, he is not only not good, but a liability. Yes he has tremendous upside, and the ability to break one, but he also seems to lose yards, and be a step behind the play, even when running. HE is not up to speed. It is early in his career, I like the kid and the possibilities with him on the team, but he is NOT an everydown back, at least not yet, not even close. Lynch right now is playing like the best back on the team, regardless of skill set or depth chart, right now he is best, and spiller is at the bottom. Fred does well but at his age he could lose a step or two literally any game now.
  20. I agree we need to invest in a franchise QB. I posted somewhere else that I like that Kellen Moore out of Boise State. I think where he falls is dependent on where he is drafted. If we can trade back into the first to get him, and go with a RT(yeah I said it RT), with our first pick, I would love to do that. Fitz would be a good stop gap guy. He has been in the league a while, super smart. Lets groom a franchise QB like he should be. Let him sit and learn for a few years behind Fitzy, and when he come in, he should be pretty ready, ie Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre. Granted we don't have Brett Favre as a mentor, same concept.
  21. Too bad we don't have winning team that needs a stop gap QB. Sadly we will be drafting a QB next year who we will have to pay our dues as we watch him mature. Either that or we do what we always do and run him out of town
