Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Mango replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this coaching staff sees something in Nassib I am ok with drafting him if he is there in the 3rd. No earlier. I would actually like Glennon or Barkley in the 1st AND Nassib in the 3rd. A little insurance policy I actually wouldn't be surprised if a team waaaaay over reaches for Nassib or his stock plummets after the fan fare of the pinstripe bowl dies down. -

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Mango replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will say that coachability can go a long way. This is alot different than work ethic or toughness. I don't know what Nassib looked like as a freshman or year to year. If his improvement grade is significant year to year at Syracuse, there is no reason to think he cannot make the improvements to become a viable pro QB. I will say based on his current talent level, he seems to be not that great, and need of a lot of developement. -
Bills hire Nathaniel Hackett for Offensive Coordinator
Mango replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let me preface this with the fact that I do like the marrone hire. the more I read and hear, the more qualified he becomes. This is clearly not the same Buffalo FO. That alone is quite refreshing. When I got the ESPN alert that Marrone was more or less hired I was shocked, but restrained oppinion until I became knowledgable on the guy. Turns out the top minds and pundints in the NFL are thrilled with the hire for the Bills. We hired a guy on his upward trajectory for the first time in a very long time. with that I keep trying to find reasons to get behind Hacket the same way I did with Marrone (truly excited). The best I can muster in emotion is tolerant after doing my research. Add that to the trust I have given to Marrone considering his hires at DC. I hope it goes well, just a little tolerant. This will be a boom or bust decision I think -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse

third is a little generous, especially when you consider the type of player we can grab there. i thought id be ok with a 4th rounder for the kid. i could live with a third. I just think we can find a guy that can add depth at cb,lb,te,ol,rb at that point in the draft. a guy that will stay on the team a bit longer. a guy who sucks less. nassib does have quite the quick release and seems like a cannon for an arm. his accuracy is average at best. even that first pass in that rutgers video he almost gets his wide open wr slaughtered. in the nfl that wr dies from a db who is 2 steps faster than that rutgers kid. im not a fan. wouldnt be furious with him in the 3rd. we are in serious trouble taking him in the first. i would rather another cb or rb...seriously. if we reach for any position in the draft it should be a lb or any other qb -

I see a pretty good college qb working in a single read system. A guy with poor pocket presence and average accuracy. The kids only up side is arm strength and he seems tough as nails I couldn't disagree with you more. If the bills take him(which I hope they dont). I expect him to not only not be a backup but to be out of the league in a short period of time. -
Dr Andrews/Mike Shanahan at odds over RGIII injury
Mango replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
kid was clearly hobbled. i was on the hate Shanahan bandwagon, and still am to a certain extent. the kid was clearly messed up early in that game, mike should have seen that. the word from Dr Anderson today are a little startling. speaking from my own experience on the USA National Team and suffering a poorly managed injury. Athletes always want to hear that they can play. When your coach is a future HOFer, who you watched as a kid, you give him all of your trust (just like my coach) and he tells you everything will be ok, then you do it. Shanahan clearly breached this trust, and it will change their relationship forever. Shanahan knows players want to play, all the time, pain or not. It is his job to temper players and manage them. He didn't. RG3 wont be the same for the Redskins for both physical and psychological reasons. -
cant help but root for ray lewis in his last go at it. it would be nice to see him destroy tom brady in the afc championship. dude played out of his mind the other day

I just watched some video on Nassib, after not watching him play much. please no on this kid before the 4th round. the positives -he seems like he has some good arm strength -he is mobile enough, but not a burner, -seems to not be afraid of anybody on the field -he is ok at throwing on the run the negatives -his accuracy is skeptical although he does a lot of throwing on the run. there are a few nice balls, but sets his receivers up to get killed or very little run after catch -he seems to operate in a single read system. if it't not there he hesitates. rarely finds another reciever -pocket presence is pretty poor. takes sacks with just a little pressure or extra rusher i did really like that wr lemon. quite solid
-
watched McCarron last night very closely for the first time. kid has tremendous pocket presence. quite mobile, and placed some balls where only his wr could get it. there where some long balls that would be nice to get back, but those are low percentage throws, and arms strength is not an issue. sign me up in 2014 for this kid

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Mango replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wasnt very familiar with Nassib, but started watching some video. if he is there in the 4th or later go for it. he seems like a kid with a good arm, can move if he has to, and not afraid of anybody. on a negative note, i saw a kid who has poor pocket presence and is a first read qb. his accuracy may be ok, he does do a lot of throwing on the run. he hits some receivers perfectly but also sets them up to get killed sometimes. the real star on that roster is that wr lemon -

You are aware that the new salary cap rules had zero effect on the bills salary cap? Our cash to cap model allows us to spend easily the minimum. Very few teams where forced to change any spending habits. The bills are generally right around average for salaries in the league. Curious as to your point here about Buddy controlling all spending here? Found the problem. You think that all teams have to spend the salary cap in full. False. I think it is 90% of the cap. -
would you rather win out or loss out.
Mango replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do players get better if they keep losing? So we stop coaching? Athletes stop progressing? The bills could have the first 22 picks in the upcoming draft and be in the same place they are today
