  1. it's clear in this city full of "haters" we where ready to run any pick in the first if a QB out of this town in 5 years
  2. the scouting reports i read before Marrone was hired was Nassib MIGHT have the ability to be a quality back up. 3rd round if he is luck 4th round talent. Pat Kirwan, former GM doesn't think Nassib will last as a backup. Then suddenly, Marrone is named HC of the Bills a QB needy team. When asked about Nassib by the media, he spoke positively of him...then suddenly Nassib is projected as a possibility at 8, then he becomes maybe the 2nd best QB on the board, because one team might take him there. Not defending the pick (although Manuel's upside is really exciting), but to stay that the Marrone hire didn't increase Nassib's stock immensely amongst the talking heads would be incorrect.
  3. Other than the TJ graham pick. What other picks where real head scratchers for you?
  4. Tebow had lots of signature wins
  5. He will be polarizing for the first few years. Boom or busy pick. He has some learning to do, but I am excited and cautiously optimistic.
  6. I went back a few more years and he is almost right on with positional selection
  7. In the pat 5 years or so, Brown has picked right 1.5 times. Last year he had us take Glenn in the first, that's the .5, and Dareus was an easy guess at 3. To be fair other than Maybin, he had the player we took off the board before our pick. Not sure what that is worth
  8. If every team thinks about waiting until next year, then the pool of team needing a QB doubles, making it tougher for mid range teams who need one, like the Bills . It may be almost unaffordable to grab one next year
  9. It comes down to the ability to insure youth programs at a reasonable rate. If the NFL loses this suit of previous knowledge, the sport becomes impossible to ensure at most scholastic and public levels. This will then effect, overtime, the ability for colleges to afford it, as most don't make a profit off of it. The issue will never be popularity, it will be the ability to financially prepare for catastrophe at the sports most average levels.
  10. I don't think superstar was ever used, and he was referring to the fact that every year produces about 2 good ones. This year is difficult to select which 2 those are.
  11. I think if the QB's last past the Jets, the. You will see a run on the bottom of the first or rush to the top of the second, seeing all of us QB needy teams to take one there.
  12. And 6th round picks are generally long time reliable NFL players. More often than not 6th round picks don't make a roster. He'll even 5th rounders don't make or stay on rosters for more than a year
  13. the issue with the NFL will be insuring the primary access to the sport. depending on how these law suits go, insurance companies will charge such a premium, or refuse to insure schools that carry a football team. this will eventually spill over to the low to mid major football programs who don't create revenue for their school, which is a majority of them. it will be diminishing the pool of athletes entering the sport that will (if ever) be the demise of the nfl. i think it is probable, considering the way this suit is going. pop warner will be the first to go in townships, then middle school, then highschool
  14. It seems as though the Bills have a long history of making moves simply to placate fans.
  15. Agreed on all accounts. I would be comfortable with Barkley in the 1st just because of his history and prior draft status. Guys like that generally don't waiver that far in skill year to year to drop him out of the first. It doesn't mean that the shoulder issue isn't a concern, and he still has the arm to make the throws. The rest scare the crap out of me with huge bust potential as well as huge boom potential. I am not sure Barkley will be the best in the class, but he is most worthy of a top pick.
  16. I wish him the best on his road to getting back into football. It would be quite the story if he could get back to a roster and even start a few games. Hate to be a cynic, but is Garcia's angle in all of this that he has this new training center, and if he can change Russell he can change anybody. What ever the motivation, if it works, I would hire Jeff Garcia to just follow Russell around and make sure he doesn't blow it again.
  17. It is easy to get hooked on Landry's career, but there are some pretty large concerns. in fact similar concerns I think. I heard Pat Kirwan, former(i know former) GM, grade Nassib as a 3rd-4th at best, and would be lucky to become a career backup. Then some have him as the top prospect. McNabb said that people are willing to take a chance because nobody really knows what he is capable of, he is one large question mark, with some upside, and a little talent in a lot of places. Every QB scares me in this draft, and I am terrified of them all. If this is true, and Marrone hangs his first head NFL job on his questionable QB, then it will either make or break his career. He either has the ability to identify, find, and cultivate talent, or he doesn't. For this reason if I were Marrone I would stay away from Nassib, the risk of failure with that decision far out weighs the gains if he is successful I think.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the QB needy teams grab one at their original pick let alone in the first. I am thinking the top 10 picks are looking for top 10 talent, and will look for QB's later on. Don't be surprised to see a lot of movement between those teams in the top of the 2nd and bottom of the 1st. I think a trade up to get ahead of those teams is pretty likely
  19. I think the visits from multiple Tennessee players is more for getting a better read on Tyler Bray than anything else. The question is do they like Tyler Bray after meeting with his supporting cast.
  20. Wanny was an enigma here in Buffalo. Obviously he did a poor to terrible job here, and deserved to be canned. What is weird is he was successful as a DC everywhere he went prior to Buffalo. I want to blame the guy, but as Bills fans are we looking at the roster through rose colored lenses, and it is really that bad. I prefer to blam Wanny, however his time here in Buffalo was puzzling.
  21. odd. spiller has been a pretty large liability on passing downs. he has generally been terrible at even chipping a guy. i am curious if spiller has the ability to find the ability to find the blitzer but lacks the ability to do anything about it. i have always been a proponent of the idea that spiller's lack of touches are due to his ineffectiveness in pass protection, that with spiller in the backfield it limited our ability to change the play at the line.
  22. You could make a strong arguement that Wannstead cost Gailey his job.
  23. the problem with the Bills is that they haven't found enough quality in the 6th, your'e right
  24. so far Kiper has the most reasonable draft spot for Nassib I have seen in a while
