  1. I'm sorry but I am sick of Carson Palmer being called terrible. The guy was a top 3 or 5 QB in the league before he blew his knee out. Dude was a very good QB. Calling him terrible is short cited. He made Chad Johnson all day long. Cinci never drafts Dalton and are actually a better team if the guy doesn't get that injury. Lets only draft QB's from Michigan, Pittsburgh, and Delaware because that's where Brady, Marino, and Flacco went. If we really want to strike it big, lets grab a guy from Miami Ohio because that's where Rothlisburger went.
  2. interesting. do you have one for the first round prospects?
  3. one is a ss the other is a fs, so that helps. if the bills use their carry over from last year plus the space just saved, and a new fitz contract the Bills have 40 mil in cap space, which means they can have both.
  4. ive said this before. not sure the nfl stands the test of time. it starts with the lawsuits. depending on how those go and the sport progresses, it will be an impossible game to ensure for local school districts, townships, and possibly even some mid sized state level schools across the country. the trend will pick up steam, the college game will be a dozen teams, eliminating the nfl and just cycling through athletes every 4 years rather than these prolonged bashings. eventually the sport will die.
  5. no he couldn't. he was moved from corner to safety because he was too slow, he couldn't cover anymore. after a year at safety he is cut because he is still too slow and can't cover anymore. the guy had a tremendous career but he is sadly just a name at this point
  6. not saying a totally disagree with you. but we have 20 mil in cap space, plus what we have saved in our cuts, plus a roll over from last year. all that together puts us at about 35-40 mil in cap space. we are actually in a great position there
  7. Pugh was not impressive during the sr bowl. he regularly got beat inside and out. i hope this isnt the case
  8. is, god i hope not, a reasonable answer?
  9. oh my god no woodson has lost 5 steps. he is cut because he is even too slow to play saftey. he can't cover anybody and is one of the most targeted db's lately
  10. good for him. philly keeps picking up buffalo cast offs, look where it has gotten them
  11. I am not sure what I think about Tavarius. He was absolutely awful in Minnisota. Decent at best in Seattle. For what it's worth on NFL Radio they were discussing whether or not to release Fitz. The consensus was they would be terrified to have Tavarius or Thigpen have to see game time or start a string of games. Fitz should stay
  12. part of the issue with cj is that he is a liability in pass protection. when we spread it out and give him space he is great, and we needed more of that. the issue is we spread it out and need to audible to a pass we have issues with more out wide we have less linemen, less protection. cj spiller is atrocious in pas protection, bottom of the league. the kid has huge skill. but in an offense built on scheme not skill, he can't be counted on in critical situations
  13. As much as I loathe Tom Brady, mostly because he has destroyed us, he is really one of the good guys when it comes be being a team guy. The guy isn't even near the top paid QB in the league and never asks to be, 9th highest paid QB actually (http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nfl/quarterback/) He is more concerned with being with the right organization with the right supporting cast. Stuff like this makes you have a little bit of disdain for guys like Flacco, Brees, and Eli. who feel the need to be at the top of the payroll at the expense of the team.
  14. i kind of hate the the look at one call under a microscope as if it happened in a vacuum. this holding call is moot if the refs don't botch the roughing the kicker call, missed field goal, and SF needs another possession even with the TD. there were bad calls all night long, fix all of them and you most likely get the same result.
  15. agreed kids a bum...see brian brohm. will get picked in the 2nd because of his position, but will have the career of a 6th rounder
  16. dmso was widely used at one point in most professional sports. prevalent in baseball for pitchers or guys hit with a ball. science and testing in sport is purely reactionary. guys just didnt know exactly what they where doing, they just new it got better. i would be willing to bet dmso at the time was in most if not all locker rooms
  17. this might actually be a good thing. we have a direct line, from a good football mind as to whether or not this kid has what it takes. the staff can get daily updates on the guy and close feedback. we will know whether or not he has it. also i doubt marrone is a large say in the draft. a first year hc in the nfl from the big east isn't going to be able to hand pick his teams first draft choice. i dont think this kid is a buddy type player. for the record i am anti-nassib.
  18. also interesting to note, guys like RG3 are not listening when told to stay on the side line. i wonder if players think doctors are too cautious and they want on the field(natural reaction for an athlete), or they feel like they are being forced back into games injured.
  19. so was josh reed and he basically went from buffalo to the unemployment office
  20. Concurred. as a former member of the US National team, it seems as though people ignore the posts like this and just keep restating...REST IS BEST. which is true to a certain extent. These sports with high volumes of training, can get a bit overboard. Football has never and will never be considered a high volume training sport. These guys need to rest to recover from their injuries, but the work involved in training for football does not necessitate long durations of rest. also working out doesn't necessarily mean lifting which a lot of people seem to think on this boars.
  21. people hide behind this for some reason. you will not find an elite and sophisticated training program that advocates a 9 month recuperation program....anywhere. offseason is where you make strides, then you have 4 months to fine tune and maintain. take your few weeks off to rest, then get back on it. no strength and conditioning coach in the world would advocate that duration of rest as effective. Elite Athletes at the international level take just a few weeks off to recover and decompress before gearing up for the next world cup circuit and world championships. I understand the bumps and bruises that go along with the NFL, and there is a necessity for a bit more rest due to injury, but as soon as capable these guys (and the good ones are) should be running, putting their bodies together, working on flexibility. most athletes who are chronically injured are generally not very well put together and conditioned.
  22. demetrius bell is a prime example of the idea that our offensive scheming hiding our poor O-Line play. Bell was part of a line that kept Fitz from being one of the least sacked QB's in the league, yet in Philly...abismal. we have an average or slightly above average line, nothing spectacular, we will start to see that soon.
  23. They shouldn't interview Pugh mostly because he isn't good. Journeyman Gaurd.
  24. it literally looks the same
  25. I havent posted since this thread was started a while ago, but I hate it. I also hate that the trolling got to 7 pages.
