Buffalo News reporting Byrd wants traded by Oct. 29 deadline
Mango replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't their a clause where the Franchise Tag mandates two first round picks, or has that passed? Not sure. I thought maybe you could sign him to a long term deal then trade him, but we aren't allowed to do that now that the date has passed. Can somebody help me clear this up -

Should the Bills get new DT's in the offseason?
Mango replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Byrd requesting a trade, having no CB's on the roster, and basically only having 4 offensive linemen on the roster, I think DL will be cool for a minute. No DL drafted where we would take him (4th or later) will outplay either of those two guys -
Brooks is super physical, expect to see the DB's press a little more at the line. Marrone has also been mentioning it a lot in his pressers. This could be ok. Our pass rush is decent, we might be ok. We may also get lit up I don't think McKelvin ever really gets list out there. In fact the guy can flat out cover. Sticks in a guys pocket for a mile if need be. The issue is he never can actually get a hand on the ball. Brooks issue is he is almost too physical. You're right he gets lost at times. He also makes recievers wish they never caught the ball. Dude can hit!

We signed Ronnie Wingo to the Practice Squad!!!
Mango replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at the falls with my girlfriend yesterday. Saw a guy with a Bills Wingo Jersey. Must be family to have it printed already. Number 6, also weird. -

Very much a reason to wait. He will cost us more for the next 2 years than his original contract. Unless we can front load it to this year and pay him significantly less the remaining years, ie about the same as he is making now, it doesn't make any sense. We have to get Byrd a new contract next year

Bills roster cut down to 50 (-18 then -5 more)

What does one get in return for Bryan Scott. Not necessarily derogatory, but seriously. -
Fast paced offense or not, if we cannot sustain drives we cannot beat Tom Brady plain and simple. A big portion of that last win was sustained drives, getting our RB's in space to keep drives alive. Our screen game was the reason we where able to be successful. We don't have the OL to pound the rock every play and keep moving the chains. This fast paced offense will be boom or bust again NE. I hope Marrone realizes the best way to beat Brady is to not allow him to take the field

I think its OK to run a constant hurry-up, but it is OK to let the play clock tick down to even 10 every now and then. Change of pace can be just as tough on a D as fast paced

Wasn't it released that Donald Jones had serious health issues, and retired?

The "Why drafting DBs is now a must" thread
Mango replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are more DB's on the field than any other position every play. Almost half the field on a given play(5). Every team should be taking a DB in the first 3 rounds every draft. Hating on Nix and Jauron for this was flat out stupid. Hating on Mckelvin is a different story. I do think his contract is pretty friendly for us though. I think most of the anti- DB people are also sky is falling people in the PS. It doesn't mean they wont be wrong, but it for sure doesn't mean they know more than us. -
this is it. either feast or famine. I have posted on a lot of other threads about a lot of subs. The coaches either know whats going on with their starters and system and they are evaluating talent, or the are being outclassed. I like Doug Marrone and Whaley quite a bit, and I think it could work, but this is the nightmare I am t trying to suppress in the back of my head I don't think the panic is necassary through the pre-season. I think we should taper all excitement and depression, but thing are eithe good or bad right now. Realistically I think we go between 10-6 and 6-10. I know that seems broad, but I think we are very very average which is OK considering all of our newbies

7th round pick for Tarvaris Jackson?
Mango replied to Bills Fan888's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i hate you and your mother -
could it be similar to Brady being questionable for the last 12 decades. The lack of info from the FO and coaching staff is really causing TBD to explode, and I feel like nobody can see it.

Forget 53 can he cut the team down to 25.
Mango replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jesus man. Shooting from the hip are we. At 75, the roster is carrying about a third more players than it is allowed. 1 of 3 players will be cut, without taking into account starters that are GARAUNTEED a spot and didn't dress. Most players you saw today will never own another NFL uniform. On another note, which other teams are playing with 2 QB's that have Alden the play book for approximately 4 practices. Only running the ball makes things tough. Objectivity and a level head are obviously are scarce commodity these days. -
WGR: "There's still ... an above average defensive line."

Chris Kelsay, is that you? -
By your own rule of Brady being +5 wins per year, which is actually pretty fair to say. Any team with Brady gets approximately 5 extra wins per season, compared to one without. Their records without him those years are 9-7, 8-8, and 7-9. It is obviously not perfect or exact, nor are those terrible records by Bills standards. Those numbers are average and beatable, which is a HUGE fall from grace, because with Brady they are one of, if not the best team in the NFL

Huh? it is the 4th PS game. I think we will be ok even if we score zero points. It literally means nothing. If we trounce the Lions, we should be the Pats by a million on Sunday. I think we are over-weighting the preseason. The sky is not falling because of the 3rd PS game, and it won't fall if we get beat by the lions. The doom and gloom is getting old

Dareus and Mario when lined up together have looked pretty dominant out there. I understand that you have to shift things around, but those two should stay together on the right side of that line. For the most part anyways. Also I noticed, Pettine is subbing a ton of players in and out between plays, seems like more than normal. It could be pretty hard for us as fans, to see what the real talent is because of it. We may not see our top D out there for more than 1 or 2 plays in a row -
you know what would stop the over-paying of athletes, guaranteed contracts, ie cut or not, players get paid. to play devils advocate, Hernandez has yet to be convicted of anything, he should be paid for everything up to his release. the idea that anything illegal is included is is ludicrous. speeding? jay walking? disturbing the peace? innocent until proven guilty please (AH is a piece of crap, and i hope he roasts)

Settlement reached in NFL concussion case
Mango replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How does this affect current and future players? Players yet to be affected by traumatic brain injuries? At some point the information will/has to be presented to a court correct? -
I think you are getting caught up in the word surgery, a flushing out of the knee or a drain are not the same meaning as what I think you are linking it to.

Who`s going to the season opener?
Mango replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am. My girlfriends aunt was Doug Marrone's secretary at SU, so she scored us some tickets. I am amped to see the new team, and I think Manuel starts.
