i think that is exactly the issue. what information? you have years worth of game tape on a ton of these guys, what else do you need to know? i understand the ability to read defenses and understand offense, and those are important, but a lot of that will come across on film as well as ability in game day situations

The whole QB situation with the Bills is a bit sloppy, and every year guys fly way up big boards because of all the down time from filming to the draft. If I am the Bills I would be weary of any QB that makes significant leaps from the end of the college season to the draft. I understand and agree with the over valued position of QB by maybe a round, but beware of the Gabbert effect. It is just downtime, which leads to excuse making. If the draft happened 2 weeks after the Super Bowl we would see a much different draft. -Manuel was a 3rd round grade until the Senior Bowl. One game is not worth 2 rounds. -Nassib was a 3rd or a 4th round grade at seasons end. What happened between his last game and today that moves him into the bottom of the 1st or the top of the 2nd. Nothing! I like Manuel quite a bit, but his rise up the draft boards scares the ba-jesus out of me. Nassib is non-nonsensical. I think when it comes to any position stick to the film and season. How guys play not their measurements per say

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Mango replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Especially since he would be there in the 2nd. I think that once he falls out of the first his value drops because there are guys with higher upside. Kind of like a Weeden. I think teams (and myself) would rather take a shot on a guy in the 2nd or 3rd on a guy with a higher ceiling. I think a guy like Wilson, Bray, or Glennon is worth a day 2 shot because of their ceiling before Nassib. If Barkley is truly 5th on our big board just behind Nassib, I would guess the FO feels the same. In no particular order they most likely see Geno, Manuel, Glennon, and Wilson above Nassib. I would put Barkley ahead of him as well. People fail to realize that SU had one of the top 20 defenses in the country last year. SU Defense is way better than Usc's, which makes Barkleys result even better and Nassibs worse -
This is the smartest post about the issue so far. Also the most correct

This will Blow every bodies mind. OU is actually the University of Oklahoma. Also their state vegetable is the watermelon.

David Nelson, Donald Jones, Andy Levitre, and Chad Reinhart are nowhere near the caliber of player that you just mentioned. I'm not happy with this teams roster at all, but these aren't similar situations at all.

Montana was drafted in the third yes?

The best part is it would cost a 3rd to replace his production...if we are lucky

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Mango replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nobody is taking nassib at 8. get real. hell be there in the 3rd and possibly the 4th. some scouts rate this guy as not even being able to make it as a career backup -
i dont like the concept for all sorts of reasons. mostly because it redoes every pick regardless of what actually happened. ie in the redo dareus can't be picked at 13

Eugene Cyril "Geno" Smith III - QB - West Virginia
Mango replied to The Voice of Truth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he has some issues when asked to repeat, communicate, or break down plays. my non-football watching girlfriend answered mooch's questions correctly and quicker than geno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtTs06mfBag -
Draft that will make you want to jump off a building
Mango replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
any draft with nassib before the 4th is a waste of a pick and a nightmare as far as I am concerned. -

So brooks was in the 4th, which means 2 out of 9 where DB's. There are generally a minimum of 4 DB's on the field at a time (2 safeties and 2 Corners. So about 22% of Nix's top 3 picks are for a position that makes up a minimum of 18% of all 22 players on the field. If we regularly play a 5 DB set, the position takes up almost 23% of the total field. How dare Nix draft proportionally to the number of players at that position on the field. -

Only 5 years until Kelsay is in! -
I have said I am for drafting a tackle in the first and kicking Glenn inside. I am against signing Clabo to play LT. I only want Glenn inside if it is long term. Signing a vet is not a longterm answer to our line. In a few years we would be back in the same position.

Selecting Glennon in the 2nd or 3rd is the only way I can justify taking a Gaurd in the first. He is too immobile to sit behind what we have -
Poll, Is there a Franchise QB in this year's draft
Mango replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These super mobile QB's are a fad that keeps coming and going in the NFL, which is why Geno and Manuel scare me a little, and why I think a Glennon is worth taking a flier on. I was big on Manuel post Senior Bowl, but after taking a step back, he was rated a 3rd-4th round talent prior to that. The film don't lie. I'm cool with reaching for a QB but none of these in the first. I don't care if they reach for almost any of the top QB's this year in the 2nd. -
With all the the criticisms of Geno lately plus his whiteboard with Marriucci scares me. I never played football past high school and could answer answer what mooch was asking. 8 for a Gaurd is pretty high. I understand the thought but don't like it. I don't want to reach for a QB at 8. The more I watch and read the more Glennon/Bray intrigues me. I'd take a gamble on either in the second or third and get a guy to help protect or an outlet in the first. Also this is exactly the kind of pick that Buffalo would blind side is with

It's always nice to get some national attention, but sounds totally uneducated on what is going on at OBD. Didn't know about the Branch signing hours afterwards. Can't pronounce Nassib and couldn't name the offensive coordinator. Also just mentioned Wood as a replacement for Levitre, but no mention of Urbik. Just comes across as a fan (which is great), but was introduced as the voice of the Bills so a little embarrassing.

Not sure how you can assign negative grades to the 200th + pick in the draft. If Wang and Easley get to break even and get picked 50-100 picks earlier, not sure how you give such a poor grade to such a poor draft position. Also I would grade Lankster as a positive, he just re-uped with the Jets, the guy has created a career after being a 6th or 7th round pick. Nice to see the drafts broken down though
-
I bet Nassib is there in the 3rd. I wouldn't be surprised if after the first round teams take flyers on guys with higher ceilings over current skill level, ie Bray or Glennon go off the board before Nassib

Is Kolb Nix's Bridge to the 2014 QB Draft Class?
Mango replied to Wing Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my larger concern is that this makes it ok to roll the dice on a terrible nassib -
if barkley is there at 8 the bills would be silly to pass
