  1. Pegula wants the freedom to search out his own football guy and not tie himself to a hometown hero. In all honesty it is a PR nightmare, the team sucks, falls on Jim, then how do you fire a guy who is shaving years off his life by the month and is a savior to the fan base. If Kelly is demanding football control, I would run far away from that deal. The trust and owners don't care if Kelly is behind the bid, so what is the sell. Pegula already has the local community he doesn't need it. I said it above, Kelly has no control here, he is being interviewed to be a part of anything, not the other way around. Any involvement in ownership is a favor from the investor. Anything financial that Kelly can give, I would imagine is just a blip
  2. Not to criticize a guy who is struggling so poorly but..... Didn't Jimbo promise us for near decade that he had an investment group already lined up, now he is basically being interviewed to be a part of other investment groups. That's really what it is, he doesn't have a group, the money guys are not seeking out Kelly, he is searching to backdoor his way into a major investor. Sold us a bad bag of goods. That said, prayers for you Jimbo
  3. Hopefully Freddy. I thought SJ13 would. God help us Sammy does.
  4. Not to hijack the thread, but Tebow was better in college because it's not the NFL. Hell, Auburn just made it to the national championship game without even putting a QB behind center
  5. Mr. Stanford, Trent Edwards only got a 30 or 31.
  6. Sack numbers seem pretty high in the camp v. Pitt as well. Not a good sign. Hope they don't get all 3 of our QBs killed. Come back Cordy!
  7. Devils advocate. If they were more profitable I think we would be less worried about them leaving Buffalo
  8. Super cool work. It is much appreciated. Can you post the video editor video on youtube, then link here, so we can see how accurate of measurements you got? My largest issue with accuracy is the endzone catch, which really makes it a guestimate. Also since you did the math, with is the results given a margin of error of say +/- a yard. Tuel could be faster or slower. According to that stupid American Muscle show on discovery, an NFL QB needs to be able to hit 50mph in controlled max velocity testing. Just like the combine. Good to see we have two QB's who well surpass that.
  9. it would be kind of cool if after todays walk through the steelers and bills did it together.
  10. my guess is similar to a baseball pitchers arm. it's strength comes from tightness, simply put. just as in normal sports, long warm ups increase aerobics and sustainability but decrease max power. that isn't to say that Hopkins shouldn't be warming up, but it is a fine line. his tightness in his hip flexor, groin, and hamstrings create strength. also as a general rule, for athletes, stronger athletes are generally tighter.
  11. I'd like to note, that while some here on this board think letting Sanborn go makes sense, since he is a waste of a roster spot, Pitt is reporting that losing Warren, their LS, is a major setback
  12. Because that amount is incredible. It partially depends on absorption. You see it in distance athletes, but not to the point of death. Notice at a lot of marathons empty mustard packets on the road. Salt, you can drink a bunch of water, as long as you can retain it. Over hydration occurs when there is no water retention. I used to be on the national team for a few years, and to help manage my weight I used to drink 2 gallons of water per day. that is 256 oz. People need to realize the recommended 8-10 cups is a daily minimum. That is about half a gallon or 64-80 oz. That is a ton, and is totally healthy as long as you increase your electrolyte and sodium consumption with it. I think it is fair to say a healthy individual could, and maybe should consumer about a gallon. That also assumes that there is no other fluid intake, ie coffee, juice, pop. If there is juice or coffee involved (nobody should drink pop regularly if ever), increase intake by 1.5 times the amount of consumed beverage. 12 oz coffee, means that you need to increase your daily intake bu 18oz to account for it. In regards to this story, 4 gallons (512 oz) is double my prior intake, and would never recommend anybody to take in that much. I would guess there is nothing you can do to balance that sort of quantity out. This story is heartbreaking to say the least. Sorry that was some boring info for sure
  13. What if the visor, if it is tinted, is to hide his eyes from the defense? What if the visor reduces glare? What if nobody give a shite about this.... I feel like I have seen him in a tinted visor in practice. There are still a ton of players who wear them. I am sure a "medical reason" is not hard to prove for stuff like this. Most likely about as difficult as getting some medical Mary Jane in certain states.
  14. Don't lift the black out, no more public subsidy. Easy solution.
  15. Blackouts are stupid. All these cities give either tax breaks or actual public funds to maintain, revamp, or even re build these stadiums. If it is publicly funded in any way, the product has no right to be withheld from the LOCAL population. Especially when it is available through the rest of the country.
  16. Am I the only one questioning this move. Is Pettine not happy with Manziel? Is Manziel the starter, and Hoyer is being moved? This move doesn't make a ton of sense to me for the browns. I get insurance policy, but generally not something you talk about when you have 2 QBs on the roster. In fact if you lost 2, you need more than an insurance policy, you ned a prayer book
  17. The thread seems to have been hijacked, which I don't like, but I will give in and make it worse. Sorry everybody. I am not a grammar nazi, but I do think I have a solid grasp of the language. According to statistics, better than average (that might be sad for the stats). Why can't language evolve. Everything else does, and does so with gusto. Why does language have to play by the rules of the 1500's. Wrong is wrong and right is right, until things evolve, and then we accept that.
  18. I think I found what I was looking for. I am not math whiz. Urban Planning and Sociology degrees. I don't fully understand the stats so if anybody is good at it please explain it like I am 5, seriously. This has CJ, from what I gather to be the 44th most efficient RB in the league. From what I gather CJ has very little success adjusting to the defense, gaining the yards needed, and finding the proper holes. I am making some assumptions in terminology based on the definition of the measurements, but I think I am pretty close. On a play by play basis CJ is operating at about 15% less production than the mean RB in the league. Something that has been hinted at on this board. His per play success rate is listed at 36% with the better (at least more notable) backs in the league operating somewhere between the high 40's to mid/low 50% range. Granted take this with a grain of salt, AP is pretty far down on the list. Although AP is at about 80% effective with his rushing yards, in that a majority of the time he is rushing for gains. Spiller is right around 50% http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/rb In Spiller's defence, his 2012 stats are through the roof better. Which makes me hate Hackett so much. Who is it that keeps preaching that we need to "give him the keys" because he is one of the "bright young minds in the NFL"
  19. I was also looking for a stat for number of runs from an RB for a loss or no gain. Something that comes up about CJ a lot. His ability to kill a drive with a 1st and 2nd down run for -3, then 0 yards, that get averaged for the season with his big 20+ yard runs. Anyways couldn't find that stat, but something similar. Football outsiders ranked OL play and factored in runs with no or negative gain, which we haven't seen before. Bills are 16th at run blocking when that is considered. I know this takes into consideration the entire stable of RB's, but by the eye test, CJ seems to contribute far more to those than Freddy. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol
  20. He is also not in during 3rd and long where it is an obvious passing down since he is a liability. He is also not in on 3rd and mid distance where we might audible in or out of a pass because he is a liability. I am not a CJ hater. I think he is a solid talent, but for whatever reason this staff can't use him. He also has one or two major deficiencies that make him a liability in other phases of the game can't/won't hit the hole between the tackles, and pass protection. I want him resigned, but I am also in the camp that he doesn't deserve top 5 money. somewhere around 10. He will want a payday, and some team will most likely give it to him. I am curious, how many QB hits/hurries/sacks is CJ responsible in percentage to passing plays. Also success rate of imperative downs (ie 3rd downs) or passing plays when CJ is on the field. Again not trying to hate, but I think it is interesting data, that may answer a lot of questions or misconceptions, both good and bad, about Spliier
  21. I really liked the play call and the positioning of both the pass and Chandler. I think the issue is that Chandler hasn't been around, so the timing is a little off. We'll run route, well placed ball. Just poor timing is all. Hopefully that gets worked out the next few weeks.
  22. The point I disagree with in terms of 1 2 punch for this team. Hackett doesn't seem to know how to run sweeps, screens, or outside the tackles very well. In a team that did, Spiller would be a feature. For whatever reason, the roster or Hackett cannot execute these well. Therefor Spiller does not work. There is a lot of mention of using Spiller like Reggie Bush. The guy has been bouncing around the league the past few years, and nobody seems to be missing him all that much. Just an idea, don't hurt me too bad guys, but what about a set where we have Boobie and Fred and spiller out wide in an attempt to get him in space via the WR position.
  23. Exactly. The idea that El Pegula have Darcy the rope necessary to hang himself is revisionist. The response I think was to a question about the team being a disaster and what Ted Black's role in it was, as he was hired to be his "hockey" guy. I'm excited about Pegula as the owner of any franchise because it esures long term stability in location and an open check book. But you can't deny that he has had a hand in making every personnel decision for the Sabres. That extends much further than an owner being in the know. I hope with the Bills, since he seems to be a big hockey guy, and less of a football guy, he relinquishes any control over football decisions. It inhibits his abilities to be successful in either franchise.
  24. I'm in my phone and finding it would be a pain, but didn't Trump say he bid 1 billion in cash...?
