  1. My take on the Oakland incident is that Hue basically asked for what needed to happen in Oakland, and that is leave football decisions to the football people. Al was more qualified than most, but he bluntly said what others who have failed in Oakland only insinuated. Maybe he is power hungry. I agree with you that from the outside in he seems like he would play nice with a structure put in place.
  2. I am an EJ hopeful, but take his name out of it. We need an OC or HC who can develop the QB position
  3. I'll be furious if he doesn't take Hackett with him, and does something like grab Cable as his OC. Then nightmate scenario is him dragging Schwartz (i know under contract) with him. Nightmare scenario for Buffalo.
  4. I'm a Hue fan. 8-8 in Oakland is like winning the Super Bowl as of late for that franchise
  5. The only thing that could point in this direction is that Eric Wood (I think) said that he knew he was retiring, but not the staff.
  6. This is the right move. I never understood the football czar thing. Too many cooks. Your GM should be in charge of all football operations. If he fails, hire a consultant to find a new one, but once you find one they should be given a large amount of autonomy, with the understanding that if it fails it's on them.
  7. Count me as a fan of Hugh Jackson. (Also Kubiak)
  8. Marrone could/should have fired Hackett last year and picked up Kubiak. Most likely would have gotten his extension and been looking at the playoffs.
  9. Marrone/Hackett in the dumpster fire of the NFL, Oakland?
  10. I'm pro mcdaniel if he brings garroppolo
  11. Not in a million years at this point. I would seriously interview Kyle though. He was there for the Jets success, saw RG3 successful, until his dad ruined him. Did pretty well in Cleveland this year, and Brian Hoyer is not good.
  12. Carolina is a bit of an anomaly with Polian, with Caughlib, Delhome, and Collins. But his MO seems to be get a guy who can lead, but get out of the way and let the players play. Not sure where Reich is on this. At week 8 this season, I'd be in on it, not now, that offense was too bad with too much talent. Also too Green. Is Wade retired these days?
  13. Awwww you really are the fun police
  14. This is at least a sound solution. Thanks for not just posting a doom and gloom assessment. My first thought while posting above was Carr is really the answer here. But regardless of liking or not liking the Watkins trade, we would have a major whole in our WR corps.
  15. Just curious, but in Whaleys tenure as GM, what QB did he whiff on? As in what should have been the decision. I know Geno had a career day yesterday, but Manuel might be the best QB in his draft class. Doesn't mean he will be the guy, but he is the only one with hope at this point. So the guy drafts the best QB in the class, and is untrustworthy. What available FA's and QBs did the franchise miss out on? The complaining without a reasonable solution needs to stop.
  16. I have beeing arguing something similar to this for a while now. I think people are looking at the wrong frames in the all-22 videos. Passing lanes are one thing people miss a lot. Also, the wind up for the throw, once the defense knows where the QB is going with the ball, the pull off their coverage, and suddenly everybody looks open. In real time it is tough to distinguish, when the decision is made and when a receiver is open. I though the Houston game was a prime example. Guys were not running around open all game, in fact coverage was pretty good. This screen shot needs to be one second sooner.
  17. I don't know. The past few weeks I have seen a bunch of screens or wheel routed to hogan, and my next thought is, why doesn't thay go to Watkins.
  18. I dont care who we put behind center right now, EJ, Tuel, FJ, whatever it has to be more productive than this.
  19. If Baltimore loses today it means Cinci can win. Today is simple in what we need. Baltimore losing would open up a ton of options. Way more complicated but gives us more options
  20. JJ Watt was looking pumped in the pregame, but steroids will do that
  21. What's the payoff on a parlay on this
  22. False. If that happens Baltimore needs to lose to Houston. Not likely since they might as well play with Timmy Tebow. Bills still very much alive. Our best shot is KC losing to Pitt, then beating SD. Which both are possible. Bills win out, and we aren't asking for anything super crazy. EDIT: Forgot to mention Cincy losing out
  23. And he didn't even hit a home run. More like a double or a triple. That's if you can cross compare sports. Haha.
  24. Just one? What about when we use our waterbug back as a power rusher and he loses yards at least 5 times. Or the safe bet, rushes for less than 2 yards more often than not. Or how about every time it's 3rd and 8 after a spiller handoff we come back. Some of us will have far more posts than the other. It's like a QB throwing for 250 yards, 1 TD, 3 ints but one of those is a 90 yard reception. Then coming back and saying boy oh boy, our QB was really efficient. I guess that is the rigt description, CJ is not efficient and does not make the most of his carries. By the way most of your posts make very little sense. There's the really good X's and O's people, then there is the opinions, which are valid. I can reply or PM people I disagree with, because their thoughts are linear and pragmatic. You my friend just seems like a guy banging his head into things for fun. I don't get where your coming from, posts don't need to be littered with schemes and stats, but you have literally added nothing to the conversation. It's like talking to my grandfather. Don't age that way man, you're better than that. This is where you and I go our separate way mrags, and I converge with Jaybee. The guy with room and momentum can make people miss. I don't think he has elite speed, but the dude can shake and bake for sure. Infact I think he's so good at it, that that's why he can run effectively in tight spaces, because he thinks he can always break it....then we all know how that goes. He doesn't, then instead of not just breaking it, he puts the rest of the offense in a bad spot on the next down. It's maddening that he keeps doing it, and it's twice as maddening that the staff keeps asking him to.
  25. Well the personal attack wasn't necassary. But if You'd like to add something other than insults, that'd be great, and appreciated. I think you are confusing the lack of excitement of Spiller being back as an indictment on his skill level. We all know he CAN BE a player. However he hasn't been productive in his role on the team. That is the criticism. There is nothing to suggest that in the past two seasons, he is a game changer given how he is used. If anything the poster did opposite of cherry picking stats, ie overall numbers, and broke down to similar plays. Example: Ortons overall numbers are decent, but we can all agree he has been pretty bad as of late. So 4.2 yards per carry would be cherry picking, his yards each individual carry would be thurough. Game breaking ability, yes. Drive staller, also yes. We all get nervous when Orton has to convert a third and long. Consistently CJ will leave us there, where the three we have now leave us generally at 3rd and manageable. Something tells me that CJ doesn't DRASTICALLY change the NE gameplan. our own game planning keeps CJ in check enough that spending time on it would actually increase the possibility of leaving other guys open to make plays.
