  1. Sounds like we are actually on the same page for the most part. Cheers friend!
  2. Physiology is absolutely not a joke. It is a very real study of science and the body. I wouldn't go to a doctor who thought otherwise. Again, for those in the back. Some Universities and con artists will take your money for a BS degree, or month long online course to give you some BS certification, that nobody in the field respects. But you can work at your local gym and call yourself a trainer of some sorts.
  3. At the risk of sounding snarky, you probably do not interact much with high end physiologists. Because what the study is supposed to be, and what comes out of some universities, are two very different things. What you are describing is more akin to the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian. You or I can be a nutritionist in about a month online, but a dietitian has an incredibly strong background in science.
  4. Jesus, what a joke. I know tons of people with that degree coast to coast, and that wasn't anywhere near their class schedule. Just at a quick glance from UB Pre-Req's, those courses are harder, and that is just to be in the program. https://sphhp.buffalo.edu/exercise-and-nutrition-sciences/education/exercise-science-bs/prerequisites.html An aside, the USA has a real issue with physiology and exercise science, and it largely stems from football culture. The Australians, Swiss, Brittish, and Germans, do a far better job then we do.
  5. Unsure what goes on in Exercise Science at Bama. But it is actually an incredibly difficult field, following a similar track to pre-med/bio and requires gross anatomy. Might want to remove that one.
  6. Jesus. Guys are about to double Kelly’s yearly salary in a single game check.
  7. I think most are worried there is a run on QB’s in the first 3 picks. Also this board doesn’t really like Allen, so that’s not a huge deal.
  8. I’m not high on him. I think he slips, not far, but he slips. Denver is the wild card, I think they love him. If he makes it past 5, I think he makes it to Buffalo at 12. I wouldnt mind grabbing him there, but no trade up.
  9. I have been pretty vocal about my want to trade up for a QB. But if this happens, I sit tight and don’t blame them. Out of everybody I honk Darnold and Rosen are worth it. Maybe I make an offer for 7, or something like that, but I wouldn’t give up a ton for anybody else. Hot take: I think Mayfield slips. If he’s there at 12 I gamble and take him still even though I’m not high on him. If the draft goes Barkley, Chubb, Rosen/Darnold, I’m going to be furious.
  10. If you break down the cost as positional rather than the player, we can do both. Trading up and grabbing a guy for our firsts and some other picks, and McCarron working out to be a stud is just fine with me. At the end of the day it’s the cost of our starting QB, no matter who it is.
  11. You could make the same arguement the other way. NFL careers are on the line here, we can’t go into the season with just McCarron. For me, I don’t mind sending a bunch of draft capital to move up, take our guy, and have McCarron turn into a stud. I see it as an investment in the position not the player. If it costs the Bills 2 firsts this year and maybe one next year, and McCarron is the man, then so be it, it’s the cost of the position for the next 15 years.
  12. Yeah, I heard it, I also disagree with it because it is an over simplification. This is elite athletics not the Mighty Ducks. You don't win at the world level if you aren't more (or at least at the same level) physiologically gifted than the guys across from you. Yes there are exceptions and cancers, but there are not too many of those. We can name a bunch, yes, but with 53 guys cycling 32 NFL rosters every year, the percentages are low. I am not hating on Beane currently. I will admit, I am not thrilled about the Jets trade. If this hypothetical happens where we trade a bunch of starters and/or quality players, and we are left with trading a first for Foles, McCarron, and Peterman, I am going to be upset.
  13. I guess the top 3 could go this way. I don't see Rosen dropping past Denver and Buffalo.
  14. That is BS. This roster is better with Glenn and Darby on it. Sorry but it’s true. Very few, if any, good football teams cut quality players because of “fitting the scheme”. I’d like to add that Dareus fists is more off the roster than he does on. It is something bad and mediocre teams do to justify poor decisions. I am more than fine with it, as long as it is too solidly the most important position in football. If Beane cut depth, to build depth, then he’ll be gone in a few years.
  15. I am sorry, but if the Bills trade Darby, Glenn, Hughes, and TT (although I’m not a fan) and don’t come out of this draft with a top tier QB, I’m lighting my torch and getting my pitchfork. You CANNOT trade all your assets to grab Nick effing Foles for a first and change. Beane is either the smartest GM at the table, or he’s trying to run a team like Madden. I know there are tons on this board who are big fans of Beane, but he has a ton to prove. The FO was mediocre at pro personnel this year, and he’s drafted nobody. That isn’t meant to condemn him, but I think it’s fair for most to sit on the fence. Thats why the Bills FO have really forced themselves into trading up, regardless of cost. I dont want to overpay as much as the next guy, but you can’t trade your assets for more picks, on a QB-less team. Otherwise you make the team worse in order to “maybe” be better in 3 years.
  16. We are about to find out what Beane is made of. This is a big move for the Jets. If he doesn’t trade up, and a worthwhile QB doesn’t fall to 12, this town is going to start holding his feet to the fire. You can’t just trade away everybody on the roster and not come away with a top QB prospect
  17. It’s a really well tailored suit. I dig it. I don’t think I could pull it off, but I am cool with it. Advise to the board. Cheap suits (clothes in general work here) with a really good tailor look great, and nobody would know the difference. An expensive suit with a mediocre tailor looks like it’s off the rack at the Bon-ton. I do this with jeans sometimes too, not just my suits. A $30 pair of jeans can look and fit just like they cost $200 just by taking them to a trailer for a couple bucks.
  18. I started a topic about this a few weeks ago during the combine with Josh Allen on my mind. Guys who have suddenly jumped up the draft board pre draft/combine, what is the success rate. I feel like guys with a sudden media blitz are pretty dangerous. For the most part stick to what you’ve seen for years on tape. I would guess you win much more than you lose that way. Not sure anybody remembers anybody who went from a “good prospect” to tons of hype in the lead up to the draft, and actually lived to those standards.
  19. Yeah. The fact that the bigtime pro sports don’t follow WADA or USADA testing protocols is a testament to the fact that they really don’t give a ****. International athletes find ways to beat both of those as well. But it is waaay more difficult. Win a medal at an international race. Get tested. Show up to international competition, you’re out into the random testing pool. Training at your home training center, an official can show up any day and request a urine test. Hell, the best way for the Russians was to fake the test. You have to keep your schedule updated with USADA and WADA because anybody in the testing pool can be tested at anytime. So if you go on vacation you have to give them notice when and where you’re going. Because if they show up to where you have listed as your gym/training center, and you aren’t there, you get written up. A few of these in a given time and you’re suspended from competition. For a giant business like the NFL, NBA, NHL, etc. this should be easy to implement, and account for basically a rounding error on their ledger at the end of the year. Source: Was registered in the USADA and WADA testing pool for a number of years.
  20. I didn’t read it as placing blame. I read “bad time” as unlucky, not as in poor decision. Also so what are the rules on IR-ing a career ending injury for they sake of the cap. I’ve always thought that big time career ending injuries/retirements should have little to no effect on the cap situation for teams. I am sure language could be inserted into the CBA to account for this. Something in the realm of “career ending injuries will not impede teams existing cap standings baring said injured player officially files for retirement within 5 days of release” Players (income) nor teams should be held back in situations like this.
  21. Dude, this is a football message board. Literally everything is speculation for speculations sake. Will the Bills move up in the draft? -We will see in 6 weeks. Who is the better prospect, Mayfield, Rosen, or Donald? -We’ll find out in 3-4 years. What is EJ Gaines worth? - Won’t know until somebody signs him. Was McBeane a good hire? -I’ll tell you in 3-5 years Would we be better if we still had Darby? - No way to know. EJ did a good job. Wait and see on Davis. It’s a message board man. The entire premise of this existing is to have the conversation
  22. I can. Elite athletes are that. Elite. You CANNOT be an average Joe and outwork the world into the NFL. You just can’t. Every single person who enters the NFL has won the genetic lottery, in that they are born from the womb with an innate gift that 99% of people are incapable of acheiving. Within that 99th percentile their are levels of gifted. Some have better heads than others. Some have the ability absorb and process information faster. Some physically recover quickly. EJ failed because he wasn’t gifted enough. It’s as simple as that.
  23. Not sure who it was, but I believe it was confirmed that Beane, McDermott, nor Badol were in attendance. Another scout/coach I would assume.
  24. TOP (12-14 WINS) 1. Pats- They were in the SB. They stay here until proven otherwise. Sorry guys 2. Steelers- Big Ben and Bell are still there. Always a tough team. Their window is closing with Ben. HALL OF VERY GOOD (10-12 WINS) 3. Chargers- I am just sick of seeing Phil Rivers fall short. Picking with my heart here. 4. Jags- I could see a slide down the chart, but they were in the AFCC. AFC South could very well beat each other up in 2018 with the best at 9 or 10 wins) 5. Texans- Assuming Watson is ready to rock and roll. Plus that Defense is still good. No Watson no cookie. FIGHTING FOR THE FINAL WILD CARD SPOT (8-10 WINS) 6. Colts (assuming a trade down with the Bills for more picks. This could drop big time but they get a HUGE bump with Luck back behind center) 7. Bills (I have more faith than some in McCarron. Better passer than TT. Still some important holes to fill) 8. Chiefs (could take the Colts spot. Rookie QB vs. Andrew Luck 9. Raiders (Carr's season will determine where they fall) 10. Dolphins- They were a QB away from being a much better team than us in 2017. Losing some help though. Could drop. 11. Titans- Same as Broncos, but they were in the hunt last year so they get the nod 7 WINS OR LESS 12. Browns- Just being nice. I don't want you to be the factory of sadness anymore. Also TT is a good dude/mediocre QB, who will get you to at least 5 wins this year. I predict 7. 13. Jets- I just don't see a turn around for them now. 14. Ravens- The wheels will fall off the organization in the next few years. Their window is over. 15. Broncos- Probably too low. But I can't really say they are better than anybody above the, 16. Bengals- Sorry guys, but probably swap with the Browns in reality. I think there is probably a log jam of teams at 7-10 wins, that are all pretty comparable that flip flop in there. Chargers the most notable of to add to that group. I wouldn't be surprised if everybody in the hall of very good was basically also fighting for a WC spot as well.
