The report of us not giving up both firsts feels real. The colts picked a guard at 6... that wasnt worth 2 firsts?

I feel like it was you pushing Mike Leach is n us for years. I don’t know what to trust anymore. The only thing I know now is that’s Riley Ferguson is destined to save this franchise. Nice work Mugatu!

Baker Mayfield draft eve tweet - amazing
Mango replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ve been on record that I don’t think Baker will live up to the hype, but this is incredible!! Hahaha. -
It isn’t addictive in the way nicotine, heroine, or alcohol are. Where your body becomes physically dependent on the substance to function. But similar to an oral fixation (smoking) or a beer after work, the pattern become tough to break, which again is drastically different than a physical addiction/dependency..

What would you have given up to get Jim Kelly?
Mango replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d give up Kelly to draft Marino. (fully aware Jimbo was fmdrafted ahead of him) A HOF QB is worth just about as many draft picks as you can give up. A HOF QB is worth just about as many draft picks as you can give up. -
Another way to look at SOS

I don’t read this so much as a drop, but more regressing towards the mean for this team. I am as happy as anybody else about breaking the playoff streak, but the 2017 wasn’t really very good. Easily could have been a 6 win season. -
Sadly, I think this mock from CBS is the most accurate...

Serious question. Would you trade Darby, Glenn, and DeShaun Watson for Lamar Jackson, because that’s basically what we did if this happens -
Hand size is only one of those things that can only hurt you not help you. Having a 10” vs 10.5” hand doesn’t matter. Having a 9.25” hand is terrible. To add on, it’s not so much good vs. bad. It’s another metric to help add to the mix when playing the percentages of probability of being good.

THAT IS NOT WHAT I AM SAYING!!!!!! ? I even said, “in hindsight we should have selected differently there.” I am saying I’m not gonna harp on the FO for the move itself, player aside, but position specific. If The Bills traded down, and selected the second best QB in the draft every year, we would be in a great spot as a franchise. None of that makes EJ a good QB. And yes, I tried to engage in this thread civilly, and take a deeper dive into the point you were trying to make. You just keep saying EJ EJ EJ. I don’t get it. trash thread.

I didn't say that even a little, Jesus. I think that over the course of a GM's history, in regards to the proposed, it would average out over picks, trades, and FA. In regards to EJ specifically. Again I didn't say that. Ugh. Should we have gone with a different position in hindsight, absolutely. My point is, as of 2018, EJ is probably either the best or second best QB in the class currently. The team traded down, got an extra pick, and got one of the best QB's/most important positions in football, that the draft had to offer. EJ was not good, but if any FO does that regularly, they will win more than they lose. You are taking what I said way too far. It is trash like this that makes your threads the worst. I tried to engage reasonably with this one too, and ask what the data meant, and that was your response. FML

It’s a bit of an anomoly, but for the purposes of trying to provide “data” or quantifying things, it would average out. The EJ pick specifically. The Bills traded down, got Kiko, and got maybe the 2nd best QB in the draft. Breaking it down that way, I don’t hate it. Bummer he wasn’t good enough, but it wasn’t the worst thing to ever happen.

You can’t adjust the stats for one and not the other. Also, if I am reading this right, Rosen was pressured more, on target more often, and completed more passes when under pressure. Not getting the point here...

Fracking? ...really? Those pro-fracking will go the way of the whigs. It’s not happening in NYS...ever. It will become illegal nationally before NYS starts fracking. I’m not even weighing my opinion here, but it is the political (and social) climate currently, and it won’t be changing. You have major industrialized nations prohibiting it federally, and you’re worried about season tickets next year because of the topic? Pegula is fully aware, I am sure of it. Otherwise he doesn’t sell drilling rights to it for a football team in a medium/small market. He will continue to liquidate on a large scale in states not names Ohio or West Virginia in the coming years (5-10 tips), and redirect investments. It’s like selling bitcoin high. We all know it won’t work long term, but you ride the wave for the chance. Even major oil states like OK are starting to push back strongly against it. Not really helping yourself here.

Which is also why I was strongly against the Darby trade. “Fit”? The dude was a football player. We are definitely better with him rather than without. Also on the fence about Cordy Glenn. I am 100% fine with it as long as we use our draft capital to find a QB. If we don’t, I’ll be furious over it. I do get it though, some injury concerns. But the plan for Dawkins was RT, Glenn LT. Just because he had a good rookie season, doesn’t mean you get rid of a guy who has proven to be a quality NFL starter at a very important position. Especially considering that pre trade we had already lost our center, and our entire rigt side has been garbage for a long time.

Pay Kelvin Benjamin or Let Him Test Free Agency
Mango replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he is betting on himself, it’s in his best interest to hold off on an extension based on what others are getting paid. If he has a good year he’ll get over twice as much as his value is currently. That said, if he wants an extension now, go for it Buffalo, offer him his current value, which is probably around, or slightly more than Robert Woods money. 8-10 mil per year. Then you get a steal for the next 3-4 years, with a low enough value to cut or trade if things don’t work out.
