  1. I am a little unclear on this. what was our cap situation in the offseason leading to 2018? Is it the 24 mil you cited? What would our cap situation be sans controllable factors/dead cap space this year if we hadn’t traded Dareus, Darby, or Watkins last year (not including the 5th year option)? What was our cap space thus year minus Murphy and Star?
  2. Serious quesion. Knowing what we know now. Would you keep Glenn, Darby, Bradham, and Dareus, have them on the roster for 2018. Use 2019 (and/or less 2018)draft capital to trade up for Allen and Edmunds. And grab 2 OL this year in round 2? Second question, would we be better if we did that?
  3. Well.... I’ve won as an athlete 6 National Championships... Then as a coach, I won another 6.... There are a few years in there too, where I lived at the Olympic Training Center full time. So, to answer your question, yes, I do get it.
  4. Yeah...I’m not. You do some stuff pretty average, maybe slightly above. Maybe you were MLB in the 1984 Monsignor Martin championship game? Woulda gone to state, and gotten big time scholarship if it weren’t for the ref blowing that call, and you twisting your ankle in the 3rd quarter. Elite talent, specifically in athletics, that you don’t get even a little bit. Mark it down.
  5. I don’t think you have any actual clue how people who are exceptional at their job actually operate. They don’t make things worse. Something, anything, gets better year after year, day after day.
  6. Remember when you said last years roster was the rot?
  7. Youre aware that the previous GM you hate so much wanted to draft Mahomes and Watson and move on from EJ. We currently pay Dimarco 2 mil per year to play 5 snaps in 2 games, Ducasse keeps starting, and Peterman has started 3 times now/still on the roster/we traded 2 vets who were ahead of him on the depth chart. Your reasoning isn’t linear, it’s baselessly preferential. This regime is officially hot garbage.
  8. Stuff like this is how people lose their jobs. McCoach is probably not long for buffalo.
  9. Another 5th means we would have 11 picks in the next draft! SUPER BOWL!!!!
  10. So this is what striving for greatness looks like? Rivers is currently 7/7, 96 yards, 2 TD. Plus another 87 yards rushing at 8.7 yards per carry for LAC.... With 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Inversely, Allen has been sacked 3 times in the second quarter alone. Again 9 minutes left.
  11. Do you think Anthony Lynn is thinking, "Thanks for not hiring me Buffalo" right now?
  12. We did? Kyle is still a starter and lost a step. Star is worse than Dareus. Vontae is worse than Gaines. Edmunds (right now) is worse than Preston Brown.
  13. I don't think this is a Frazier issue (right now/yet). We have gutted this roster of all talent at just about every position. We are 5 years away from being a good team.
  14. "Punting is hard in the NFL" -McBeane, probably
  15. I think we played the pats that game. The first thing Pegula did was ask the stadium to quiet down, and did it almost immediately. I remember thinking that was odd. The Bills were off to a good start that year, it felt like he was being a wet blanket.
  16. So better or worse? Being under.500 (and a bad football team) this year is why we will miss the playoffs.
  17. Are we better or worse without Darby, Dareus, Watkins (I don’t mind this trade), Bradham, and Glenn?
  18. Im actually the opposite currently. I see most of these roster moves as Beane’s doing. I have little trust currently in his talent evaluation (pro or college). I don’t think we were in cap hell, but we are now. I do thibk if youre a good coach, you’re a better team than the day you showed up. If you’re a good GM, you have more talent than the day you showed up. Currently we are neither, and that’s concerning. It’s risky to tear down, because if you can’t replace, you’ve decimated a roster/franchise for 3-5 years minimum. He’s gotta be the best GM in the NFL next year in FA and the draft for this to pan out, because we released most of our top talent. I agree. If Allen pans out, Beane is fine for a while. He’s directly tied to his success at this point.
  19. Kirby, you’re a guy with a lot of historical insight into the Bills, and X’s and O’s. Your posts are generally pretty level headed. I always appreciate them. It’s telling of this regime that you’ve been getting more and more angsty with their decisions.
  20. Exactly. From the sounds of it, the feds have enough to fine and give very minor jail time to what is probably a dozen or more people. Just based on the system Sonoiki had in place in terms of distancing himself with a middle man. That’s why wording is incredibly important here for those conversations. The feds would rather cut stuff like this off at the head, rather than waste their time on a bunch of small timers in the grand scheme of things. It’s not just a would you rather, it’s incredibly costly and time consuming to “prove” Kendrick’s had full knowledge at the time of the transaction that this was insider trading. The burden of proof is incredible. So they’ll fine him a ton, in exchange for Sonoiki and the bigger business.
  21. Like I said above, in order to be fully prosecuted, he has to be fully aware that the transaction is insider trading. That’s why the text correspondence is crucial. What’s listed in the SI report doesn’t give any claim that he knew at all. Kendrick’s is scarred because he’s losing money, and confirmed the moving of the money. Neither are that incriminating.
  22. I can’t find it right now, but basically it comes down to what was said in the text messages and precise wording. Basically the difference between “Yo, I got a deal for you, send me 80k and you’ll thank me later” and “Hey, I have some insider info, let’s make some money, don’t tell anybody, this isn’t above board, I could go to jail”. If Kendrick didn’t know about the insider info until the transaction went through, he’ll get a slap on the wrist, and a HUGE fine. But little to no time. The fact that he already plead guilty gives way to the idea that he has a plea deal in place already. They’ll cut Kendrick’s loose in exchange to nail Sonoiki, who by all accounts has been giving insider info to multiple people. For cases like this, in order to be fully charged, Kendrick’s has to be fully aware that he is trading with insider info from the start of the transaction in order to serve time. So far that’s unclear, which means it’s very possible he serves little to no time.
  23. From what I’ve read, he is sentenced in December, but there is some fluidity as to when he starts serving. He’ll most likely see the entire season. Im also reading a lot that there is a good chance he serves zero time. If he does, it will be ~6 months, but only end up serving 2-3. He’ll be out in time for the 2019 season, if not 2019 OTA’s. Either way, it’s a one year deal, and he’ll almost certainly be available for the entirety of the season. Just for perspective, Michael Irvin stabbed a teammate, Ray Lewis and Marvin Harrison killed a guy, and kept on playing, receiving multiple other contracts. Nobody really batted much of an eye at that.
  24. This is actually a very fair point. But this is a tough result to see after week one, and asking the community, as well as the roster, to trust the process.
  25. Yeah. It’s like being the CEO of Nike (or any large manufacturer) and saying “child labor is bad, and I hate it. But you’re still the CEO of Nike, notorious for taking advantage of hold labor. Here you are, 10 days after starting a thread entitled, “If you hate the Bills, why are you here” (paraphrasing). Then saying, I had a criticism once. @PlayoffsPlease is right. You’re very much “get off my lawn” and you being “a better fan” than everybody else. It’s tiresome, and really unproductive to any conversations because it doesn’t add anything what so ever. Man, I get it. Forums can be negative, but you have a choice as to what you bring to the community here/
