Edmunds is ranked 6th for all MLB's in regards to total tackles and 26th for all defensive players. Unsure where that is coming from or if that was the intended point... This might be a good example of my previous post regarding disconnect on overall points between the two parties.
-
I haven't seen anything regularly on this board saying Edmunds won't be good because of his TLF, Sacks, INT, etc. You do have people arguing over what responsibility each gap was on a given play. But those are two people arguing over film without access to the actual play call. They are both the same type of fan.

Feels like these two are related....

1. I would separate Fantasy football, and stats. There are some that rely on probability in forecasting success, which is science, then their are the others who judge success on gaudy numbers. I think there is a difference between these two in terms of how they view the game. 2. Edmunds has gotten, and deserves plenty of flack from the All-22 crowd. In fact, I think people would be higher on him if not for the access to all-22 for your average fan. JA deserves both criticism for the way he has played and praise for improving his game. Both analytics and all-22 should reveal both. I actually don't see a huge gap between you analytics guys and your all-22 guys. Maybe because a lot of them dabble in both because problem solving/understanding is enjoyable to them. I think the big disconnect is between the people who operate via "feeling" vs. the more analytics base. They just communicate differently. I think when the analytics guys say "this is below average play, QB's/MLB's/DT's etc. who have x production generally result in y", fans who operate with their guts hear, " Player ABC is bad, and won't be good" and elicits that response. Inversely, when fans who operate based on their gut say "we won, lets keep on progressing", analytics based fans hear "good enough"...then everybody spends all week yelling at each other on the internet, and that is why message boards are fun.

NFL TV Schedule and Maps: Week 10, 2019

I live in upstate (Saratoga) Glad to get another game I can watch at home rather than go out. CAR-GB is a weird choice over PIT-LAR to me for the 4pm. At least I would rather watch Pittsburgh. -
Bills Record under McD when opponent scores 20 points

Dude, I don't know what your deal is, but the constant aggression and need to attack is ridiculous. I am watching you pull up post history in unrelated topics, just to defame people (not speaking to this post hear). Almost like you are chasing guys around the message board to call them out. It isn't funny, it isn't snarky, and it provides absolutely NOTHING to the conversation other than over-inflating your own self worth. It is just mean. Cut the shyte and just have a conversation. To the point, there was no what if game being played. JA is playing better this year, there is no question about that. Allen was bad last year (IMO), and even with his improvement, we are playing too many close games against too many bad teams. We cannot afford to have worse QB play than we are getting now. I do think the TT comparisons are a bit over the top as well, but I also understand people seeing him play a much more conservative version of himself compared to last year. Seems like he is missing a lot of the big plays. Point being, we needed this out of JA to be 6-2. Then I posited a question, "at what point is this not a McD criticism, but a JA concern, that in order to protect wins and losses, we have to provide such a governor. I don't know why I just typed 3 paragraphs asking a grown man to just be a nice guy, and re-explain everything that is already posted and quoted in this thread. But here we are, maybe I am the dummy. Ha. -

He needed to learn how to be a better passer in the NFL. If JA showed up in 2019, like he played in 2018, We could be 2-6. He completed about 50% of his passes. Through for about 160 per game, and threw more INTs than TD's. At what point does "being coached into Tyrod" become, not good enough to execute an NFL offense consistently. -
Jason Garrett...am I doing this right? .667 win percentage as a QB
-
I actually really like YAC as one of the metrics for how a QB is doing delivery the ball. I don’t think lack of YAC is a good defense for JA, rather an indictment. Current YAC leaders 1. Rodgers 2. Brady 3. Goff 4. Rivers 5. Mahomes The only players Josh beats are back ups, starters who have missed a bunch of time (ie Brees, Tannehill, etc)

Rex Grossman played in a Super Bowl and was something like 19-13 in the regular season as a starter for the Bears. Did that one stand up?

Brady- The Pats have scored 30 or more in 6 of their 9 games. 16 against Buffalo. 27 against Cleveland. 20 against Baltimore. They’ve absolutely routed teams and are scoring well above league average currently. Lamar and Greg Roman seem like they might have been waiting their entire careers to find each other in the NFL. LJ is probably the most gifted runner in the league regardless of position. (And maybe the most gifted athlete) Because of that he makes BAL unique and deservingly in the MVP discussion. He is on pace to pass for 3600+ and rush for 1300, which is incredibleThat said, if he wants to be a starting QB, he will need to learn to do more through the air. Also, dude, people asked him to switch positions. He gets tons of criticisms. Jimmy G needs to find more consistency. More TD points would be great, they’re currently ridding a stout run game and defense, but he has carried the team when other aspects of their game have faltered. He’s had some huge games and shown pretty bright flashes. In 18 starts he’s scored 28 or more points 9 times, had more than 1 INT just 3 times (only one with 3+) and is 16-2 as a starter. His career average is about 250 yards per game as a starter 2:1 TD:INT and 67% completion percentage

I remember the 2007 Week 17 match up vividly. It was my 21st birthday and I watched the game with friends, family, Thurman, and his wife. (I made a few off-color remarks about Tom Brady pretty loudly, that got a few chuckles, and eventually he pulled his table next to ours!) at Colter Bay. Anywho....the score was 35-38. It was super close. Not in hand.

Josh Allen with Brett Fave on Sirius nfl radio

I didn't realize Daboll was the OC for Favre with NYJ. People were saying that Favre was toast and should have just retired. Then had a career year with the Vikes. I was pulling for him to win it all until Bounty-gate...F#$K Greggo. It was almost a decade ago. I forget what happened in 2010. Did Favre fall off a cliff. -
List of QB's drafted since 1998, who were in the NFL for at least 6 years and/or had 32+ starts over their career, and how many starts into their career it took for them to have their first 300 yard game. Should note- that Russell Wilson's first 300 yard game came in his rookie year during the playoffs. It is not what anybody would call a good list. Joe Flacco 2009- Week 1- Start 17 17 Jason Campbell 2007- Week 11- Start 17 17 Matt Hasselbeck 2002- Week 16- Start 17 17 Russell Wilson 2015- Divisional Round- Start 18 18 David Carr 2003- Week 6- Start 21 21 Blaine Gabbert 2012- Week 8- Start 21 21 Rex Grossman 2006- Week 15- Start 22 22 Charlie Frye 2009- Week 16- Start 20 22 Mark Sanchez 2010- Week 9- Start 23 23 Kyle Orton 2008- Week 5- Start 23 23 Tarvaris Jackson 2011- Week 4- Start 24 24 Vince Young 2007- Week 11- Start 25 25 Charlie Batch 2001-Week 5- Start 27 27 Tyrod Taylor 2016- Week 16- Start 29 29 Alex Smith 2009- Week 13- Start 36 36 David Garrard 2008- Week 12- Start 40 40 Regardless of frequency of 300 yard games, QB's who were either able to last 6 or more years in the league or start 32+ games, had their first 300 yard game on their 9th start.

I don’t know If we beat MIA, NYJ, DEN, CLE, we are at 93%. That stretch from week 13-16 is going to be tough. -
2018 Josh Allen: Slings the rock around and does what JA does 2019 Roger Goodell: “With the 9th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Houston”
-
Interesting you said first 16 starts, because his first 300 yard game was...IN THE PLAYOFFS, of his rookie year... And yes, per another thread, it seems as though QBs who take longer to have a SINGLE 300 yard game early in their careers (total start) have not generally become franchise QBs. Josh can do it, but he would be the first as he pushes toward the back end of year two, and 20 starts without one.
-
It is weird how quickly people forget How bad things can get. Could you imagine this board if JA went 10/19 84 yards and an INT. Thankfully we have avoided that type of QB play with Josh. ??♂️
-
I don't know. It is a thin line. We have seen it happen to a bunch of QB's espescially those who look good in shorts. EJ, Bortles, Trubisky, Losman (remember he went like 7/10 65 yards one game haha), etc. Is it coaches hampering greatness or is it guys who just aren't good enough? Sometimes franchises and fanbases are just so desperate for good/better QB play they start lashing out at everybody else. It is year 2 for our own JA, so who knows yet. We had some pretty terrible OL and WR play last year, but I am on the doubter side currently. Would love to be wrong.

Yeah. With all the negative hype around Haskins coming into his rookie year, I thought he was fine. His game was meh. Some of his balls I verbally said, “oh that’s a good throw” He made some plays, missed some plays. Had a good first down with his legs. Maybe I am giving him more credit because I expected more of dumpster fires -

I thought that Haskins and Allen played similarly, and if we swapped defenses, the game would have flipped. -
I think Allen had a good “game manager” day. 1 TD. 140 yards. Meh. Not game ball worthy. I’d grade a C. Didn’t do anything to win the game. Didn’t do anything to lose it. Singletary and Phillips are easily my 1 and 2. I questioned Singletary’s overall ability this week because he’s had 20 touches. Kid balled today!
