Carson Wentz completed 70% of his passes on the same day...
-
We have seen that movie before. It is weird how quickly we forget It comes out to about: - 175 passing yards per game - More INT's than TD's (not a lot of TD's) - The second worst scoring offense in the NFL - 52% completion - 30% on 3rd down - 5 wins to 7 losses

Which is why gutting a roster of talent in the name of "my guys" (cap hell was self created) is silly at best because it removes any depth. You create holes, then have to dedicate resources to replace them. Then ignore other holes to fill the self created.

Unsure if you are talking to me or McBeane, because that is exactly what seems to be happening. He has 20 carries over 4 games. We are way down on rushing attempts this yea. It is odd. Taking out any Allen rushes, we averaged about 22.5 carries per game in 2018, we are at about 18.5 on average this year.

WAS has been a tough team, and better than their record indicates. They aren't good by any metric, but they aren't as bad as their record indicates. Haskins looks lost currently. They are much better with Case.

I am not surprised at the Singletary touches. He had 10 touches total, the first two games of the season. 10 touches after coming back from injury over 2 games. I think Singelary is a good change of pace back not a workhorse. Sort of a combination between Spiller and McCoy. This issue isn't that DS is not getting touches, the issue is we don't have a great stable of backs or a feature back like Shady.

Ah yes. I forgot about Rick Dennison. So does McD go 3 OC's in 4 years? Or does he stay the course with his offensive staff and QB development?

Trade Deadline Woes for da Bills

Or that time we spiked the ball because Allen noticed his shoe was untied. -
Hes averaging less than 60% completion and less than 200 yards per game. In 2019 that’s not good. But this isn’t a pie. Allen can be bad, and the defense can play poorly. They don’t take away from each other. They’re not mutually exclusive.

Yeah. Allen wasn’t good last year. Now he is a slightly different version of good this year. Problem must be solved...

I think it was the 3rd and 7 before PHI put up their final TD. Announcer mentioned it. -

Defense on a critical 3rd down to not had 10 guys on the field. Not a penalty. But up there with preventable moments. -
The D isn't built to handle what hit them today

You mean sort of like the Indy Defenses of old, built for an offense that can go toe to toe with anybody. Instead, we have whatever this is... -

Also Harvey’s in Saratoga is a Bills Bar. The Loganberry Wheat by Artisinal at BBQSA is awesome, and I generally don’t like those beers. Puts Resurgence to shame. -
Belicheat exposee loophole in rules
Mango replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It does, if it is accepted. If it is declined, there is no penalty, so the clock keeps running. Changing the rule would mean that teams could purposely commit a penalty to stop the clock. Maybe the solution is to cap declining penalties at 2 in a row on the same down. But even still... This whole thing is a non-issue. 99.9% of the time, accepting the penalty and stopping the clock is the correct decision. If you’re down by one and on defense, if the offense wants to jump Offside or miss the play clock, why wouldn’t you accept the yardage and stop the clock? If you’re down by one and the defense wants to jump the snap, you either get a free positive play, or you accept the penalty and stop the clock. This is more Gase being a dumb-dumb. It was stupid and pointless to decline twice. NE was punting, and wanted more room, so they took a delay of game to back up 5 yards. Gase declined because he was hoping for the touchback. Then BB basically did it again, and Gase declined again. Because the penalty was declined, it basically means there was none. So the clock kept wronging. Gase is an idiot. -

I also don’t think BB’s thought there was to run out the clock. My guess is Gase declines, and BB was like “wait, what? You need the clock, I need the 5 yards. Let’s try this again Adam” then facepalm laughter ensued. -

Meh... The inverse is a team can commit penalties to stop the clock. Gase could have just accepted as well. It wasn’t some loophole that existed in a vacuum or is an oddity like that wonky formation vs. the Ravens. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. -

Jesus Christ. I forgot Todd Collins was playing still in 2010. -
This is a bad take. Darnold deserved an F tonight. It’s not a pie. The Pats can play well and the QB can get a bad grade. Sam Darnold isn’t my QB. The standards are different. I think you know that already though...

First Time I have been concerned with Josh Allen
Mango replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My issues with JA are similar. Percentage is up. He’s been much more efficient. He’s always been able to make throws that make your jaw drop at times. I think he has to process the field quicker, and figure out how to control velocity. Those go hand in hand sometimes. I think he throws so many fast balls that are difficult to catch, because his anticipation isn’t great, and is late on his read. So he unleashes a bullet that is difficult to catch, after the DB has reacted. I’m concerned that this is fixable, because it’s nuanced. I’m also pleased with this seasons improvement. I think he’s correcting his need/want to play hero ball, but when he goes underneath he seems late to release and poorly placed. Both excited and concerned. Which is where I think most criticisms come from with his play. -
That’s been one of my big knocks on Allen, is throwing “with touch” not necessarily “touch passes”. Look at Mahommes, they have nearly the same velocity at the combine, but he isn’t throwing nearly as many fast balls as Allen. He’s like Rick Vaughn our there sometimes. I think part of the problem is he is a little late with his reads, so has to chuck it in there to get it their on time. (Not just referring to deep passes)

I do? if you could enlighten me, that would be great! I understand that JA is a work in progress. I also understand that we need him to be the answer or there is a good chance we hit the reset button on the franchise, even though I like what we are doing over all. That said, I don’t think the current version of JA is good enough for sustained success against good teams. We’ve played 2 games against teams with top half defenses (via DVOA). We are 1-1. The one win required 4 missed field goals and 2 TD’s called back. I have been critical of Josh because I don’t think he’s been good enough yet. Not because I want him to fail.
