I saw another thread go down a rabbit hole regarding Allen's Passer Rating vs. the league average. Decided to take a quick look at how he is stacking up against teams average defensive performance instead of average QB rating for the league.I threw our defense and opposing QB's in there as well as QB vs. QB differential. Just some notes: Allen vs. Defense differential- Red performed Below average/Green Above QB Performance Average vs. Actual- Red played worse than average, Green Played Better Opponent vs. Average Buffalo Defense- Red, Defense performed below average, Green, Defense performed above average. QB Differential- Red is in opponents favor, Green is in Allens favor.

I don't think they are protecting Josh. I think they are protecting the team. You can't win games where you don't move the sticks and turn the ball over. The last few games from Josh have been based around him no effing it all up like the first pats game. Josh has a difficult time seeing it then throwing it on time so he either throws the ball late/behind or holds onto it too long. He'll also go for the home run ball over the first down throw 8/10. These are things that need to be worked on every single week regardless of opponent or point in the season.

So what's happening is, the coaching staff has been like, "Oh man, you could be great, but don't be great, definitely be mediocre and struggle to score points. You know since the defense is fantastic and all. Only be great when the defense is not awesome. We can't have both the offense and defense play at a dominant level. We will let you know when you are allowed to play at your full potential"

A good look at his history. He started using Xanax and Codeine in 7th grade. Gangs at 15. Then some ass-hat-coach at Baylor helped Gordon cheat his drug tests so he could keep playing. When you start using prescription meds at 12/13, you really don't have much of a chance against being an addict. Then add gangs at 15, and adults helping you keep your addictions going from 18-20 so you can be "successful".

At this point I feel bad for the guy. He just can't get out of his own way. It is sad really.

I thought he had some good things to say about Allen. Like actual positive things. His best commentary was about Joshs footwork on some bad throws. Then on good throws he pointed out how good Josh can be when he gets those things right. Thought he was fair with JA tonight.

I mean, to each their own. I also don’t think God is taking sides in NFL football games and blessing one team with INT’s or victories over another.

NFL QBs getting paid to not throw a ball 3 feet over their open WR’s heads. Bad throw AND a bad catch. It can be both.

The 5th year option isn’t that old and only applies to first rounders. There have been quite a few. You are absolutely right, currently the case. But when you look the current QB market, and young guys coming off their rookie deals are taking up to 20% of the teams cap space, you will most likely either get into garbage time or get into shootouts.
