  1. Cool thanks. Listen man, I get it Josh is getting there. But the point was valid, you presented a bunch of incomplete information, and reached to conclusions that the data didn't really show or imply. Which was fine, because there was some value in the discussion overall about his improvement. Just thought I would point it out up front. Then you called me an idiot... Allen against defenses ranked in the top half (16) for yards per game has a total stat line of 106/201 12 TD/ 7 Turn Overs . 1231 passing yards. Over 7 games that averages out to about 52% completion percentage. 176 Passing Yards per game. 1.7: 1 TD/TO ratio. (There are about 20 QB's in the NFL with a better TD Pass to Interception Ratio) Averaging to the decimal over 7 games against top 16 defenses Josh has a Passer Rating of 69.94. NE currently leads the league in opponent Passer Rating of 59.8. Next is Baltimore at 79.8 Against the top 16 defenses ranked by yards per game, Josh Allen performed: Better than the defensive average against NE- 59.8- Josh 102.7 DEN- 89.1- Josh 92.9 DAL- 93.8 Josh- 120.7 Worse than the defensive average against: NE- 59.8 Josh- 46.4 BAL- 79.8- Josh- 62.6 PHI- 92.1- Josh- 81.6 PIT- 81.2- Josh- 65.2 The Dallas and NE pt 2 game are actually really good talking points. We should actually use them as markers for Josh as measures of improvement. Allen showed he could play at a top level when it came to ball placement against Dallas. NE gave him fits, and even though he left plays on the field, he did a good job of learning from week 4 and didn't give BB and TB an extra opps from turn overs. But don't call people names and lump a bunch of other trash into that just to make you feel like your point is stronger, because it doesn't. Josh has actually played pretty bad by the numbers against top half defenses.
  2. The Bills have played 10 games since their bye, not 6. You left 4 out. Makes it read like Allen put up 21 TD’s in 6 weeks. He didn’t.
  3. At the risk of sounding pedantic, we don’t really run the hurry up with often. We do run the no huddle a bit, but we will generally run the play clock down. I’ve noticed he seems to play better from it. It sort of paired with Daboll going to the booth. I have a feeling Daboll has been calling the coverages from the booth when we do run no huddle.
  4. I mean, we have so much space right now and no QB to pay (yet). If we could get Phillips, Tre, Donald (restructure) all on front end heavy contracts and take as much money up front before we have to pay our QB, I would do it in a heart beat.
  5. What? The Bills would immediately be in the Super Bowl conversation with the below QB's. All of those those guys have at leasy 2-4 years of tread on the tires. You would rather gamble that Allen MIGHT put the Bills in the Super Bowl conversation 3 years from now, than take being very serious Super Bowl contenders for the next 2-4 years? Russel Wilson Patrick Mahomes Deshaun Watson Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees Ryan Tannehill (the way he has played this year) Kirk Cousins Matt Ryan Jimmy G.
  6. Will he be? I don’t know. Maybe. Hopefully. Is Watson better than Josh today...absolutely and it’s not close
  7. 4 with a 5th year option. The QB market keeps chugging along at about 20% of the salary cap. The question is, can we win 10+ games per year with Josh Allen taking up that cap space. Or inversely, how many games would we win this year if we subtracted 35M in salaries from our defense. To my eye, JA has a long way to go before we can safely afford not paying his supporting cast in favor of paying him, and still win more football games than we lose.
  8. This thread should be “do you think we should pay Josh Allen 35-40 mil per year?” Or “Can we win 10+ games per year if we allocate 20% of our cap space to a player like Josh Allen?” The answer is probably it’s too soon to tell, but at his current level of play, no
  9. Next 3 years? Or our franchise QB? 3 more years seems about right. Then I think we move on. Our current style of play isn’t really sustainable for winning football games year over year. I mean, based on the QB market price now of $35M per year, do you take a huge chunk away from the defense and still expect Josh to win 10-12 games per year? With the 15th ranked defense, this is probably a 6-8 win football team. You don’t give a QB that much money if paying him means you drop under .500.
  10. No he means too many throws. Josh has the lowest completion percentage in the league as a starter and 3rd lowest yards per game passing. That’s not because he is missing a “few” throws. He’s missing too many.
  11. Defense got worked by play action especially yesterday. Brady and BB came prepared and picked on Edmunds and drew Philips off sides. Defense did ok making contact but couldn’t wrap up. Also gifted the offense the ball within field goal range. Offense did next to nothing with it. If not for that, it’s a 2 possession game. That said, they did enough to keep the game in reach. 17 points might not be enough to beat the Bengals on any given Sunday. For the first 28 minutes we were 3/9 and something like 11 net yards after sacks.
  12. Allen has had bad games throwing the call 40 times as well. It’s not like there hasn’t been an attempt. Allen is unpredictably hot and cold.
  13. I was surprised we didn’t burn our last TO after taking a look at the Pats D. It’s the final offensive play of the game. There is nothing to save a TO for. They needed more time to get set there.
  14. C- to everybody. Didn’t look terribly good but scoreboard was close. Offense was about as bad as usual. Can’t keep drives alive. Drive killing sacks. Getting behind the sticks early etc. Struggle to score 20 points. Defense didn’t play to standard but well enough to keep us “in the game” whatever that means. Couldn’t get off the field today. Coaches, team looked like the were expending a different game from NE.
  15. I did a ton of hating on not gambling the TO. I WAS WRONG. It was useful
  16. Id give the Def a C-. They’ve been bad by their standards, but have done enough (whatever that means) to keep us one drive away.
  17. This is a terrible take. We have completed 3...THREE...passes in half of a football game
  18. “Dude, he’s done enough to keep us within a possession half way through this game. Obviously you’re just a stat guy with an anti Allen agenda. 1st half grade, A-. “ Somebody later in this thread, probably...
  19. What are we saving the TO for? I’d rather gamble the 20% chance they overturn it and burn the time out, and maybe fire my defense up. Rather than concede a close call and points on the board.
  20. Still upset about the non challenge. We get the challenge and TO back later in the game. Could have saved points. Out coached.
  21. How do you not challenger that.... im screaming bad words
  22. White on white and Blue on Blue are my two favorites. Yeah...I said it!
  23. I think the last time he threw an actual pass in the probowl was something like 2005 or 6. So that streak is still alive I guess.
  24. There is a scenario where the playoffs get seeded 1. Baltimore 2. Kansas City 3. Buffalo 4. Houston 5. New England 6. Pittsburgh Wild Card weekend (6)Pitt @(3)Buffalo (5)NE @(4) Houston Divisional Round (3) Buffalo @ (2) KC (4) Houston @ (1) Baltimore Conference Championship (4) Houston @ (3) Buffalo I have Houston over NE and BAL. On their best days they can put up points, but their defense isn't great. Until I see Josh light up NE, I really don't want anything to do with them in the playoffs. Our defense seems to be able to slow down the best of offenses, but we struggle against stout defenses.
