  1. I don't get the problem here. It is how I play Madden. Draft a guy every few years. Flip Flop them on the depth chart here and there as starters. Keeps their stats down, but they still get better, it keeps their cost pretty low when I re-sign them as early as possible. After resigning I put up some huge numbers and trade them away for a haul of picks. Then, rinse and repeat! Are you saying this won't work in the NFL?
  2. A few things here: 1. There were some just criticisms of this team last year that left them our of firmly being considered a top 10 team. Soft schedule, ability to put points on the board consistently, can the defense keep up with a top offense. 2. 10 other teams pick after the Bills this year. So it is 11th. They are picking 11th because (seen above) The offense had a number of misfires in the 2nd half where they couldn't put points on the board and the defense could not stop a high powered Houston offense in the second half. 3. This one is more philosophical, but I really don't put a ton (although some) stock in the idea "Top 10" in the NFL somehow means you are elite. There are only 32 teams. You are in the top 1/3rd, which is good but there is a lot of variance. What if you were a top 10 sales rep at your company? Sounds great, but the difference between being a top 10 rep at Johnson and Johnson where they have 1000's of reps is much different than being top 10 at your local car dealership where maybe there are 30-40. I get it, these guy are already in the 99th percentile at what they do in their sport. But they aren't competing at those levels anymore.
  3. A better job putting up points. If Singletary is the player we hope, if JA is the player we hope, adding Diggs, Brown, and Beasley should get us into or very close to the top 10 in scoring 25ish points per game (up from 19). I think asking for about 230-240 yards through the air per game is reasonable, right in the Cousins, Fitz range. I am not going to jump into QBR, 300 yard games, or completion percentage. If he can throw for about 235 per game, and we can score one more touchdown per game, the rest of the numbers will follow. Just for perspective, my ask isn't crazy in regards to rankings. 20th in yards per game and 12th in points per game. It is a low bar, but I think that is all the output this offense needs to put the Bills firmly in the conversation as a top 10 team.
  4. It depends on how prepared they are for the replacement. Is there a quality replacement on the roster that could get them through a stretch like an Andy Dalton? Do they trade to the top of the draft to nab a guy? Or does it just become Barkley? I like McBeane, but they have also had some missteps in trying to upgrade some position groups. Leaving out recent signings because we have not seen it play out. - DB's- Tre is a stud, and what they did with Hyde and Poyer is great. Depth is lacking. We also devoted resources to replacing an already strong group (Gilmore and Darby) it was not necessary. Whiffed on Vontae Davis. We will see how Norman plays out. - DL- Hughes, was here before. Star is meh and on what was a big contract at the time. Shaq was here. Harry is injured. Trent has not been good. Jordan Philips was a good pick up for us. - LB- I like Milano and Edmunds. They aren't there yet, but when they are both on they are exciting. Group needs to be rounded out but all in all a good job. - WR- Beasely and Brown are great additions for the group. KB and Zay were bad. -OL- Not a great group, just a meh group. Losing Wood and Richie were tough and we did a poor job of preparing protection for all we invested in our QB in year one. -TE- was bad now is better but not great. -QB- Josh is electric- but this thread is assuming that he tops out as electric and stops showing improvement. They also went into a season with Peterman as their No. 1
  5. I mean before he busted his shoulder and had surgery that didn't take he had a 2:1 TD/INT ratio and 8.2 A/Y per attempt. He had one good year in Miami years later but immediately dropped to about 6-7 A/Y after the failed surgery. Pennington was a smart and accurate QB, who's major flaw was arm strength, an issue that did not exist until he blew his shoulder out early in his career.
  6. Can we keep this thread on track guys. Anybody have any insight into Todd Gurley's knees?
  7. But does he know that Gurley has 2 bad knees?
  8. I think the offensive line is hovering around average. The right side could use some work.
  9. I agree it is conservative. But it does leave the option for us to be built on the run rather than the pass while also pushing into or just outside of top 10 for scoring. Also Josh has shown to be a bit of a raw (inconsistent?) passer, so I was leaving some room for growth there as well. 235-ish yards per game passing is the Cousins, Fitz, Jimmy G. range of production. I also stayed away from trigger points like completion percentage and 300 yard games. haha
  10. If the Bills get Gordon and Diggs this off-season, we should definitely expect more than 190 passing yards and 19 points per game. I think with the personnel on offense we should be expecting about 25 points p/g (10-12ish) and 235 passing yards per game (20th).
  11. Really? You went with Trubinskpick over Trupicksky? Trubinskpick isn’t even close... ???
  12. Summary: more production for less money than Jordan Philips. I dig it.
  13. This feels like more Carolina signings than the rest of the McBeane tenure combined.
  14. Huh? They play SF, @TN, @NO, and @SEA. Plus Carolina x2. Unsure both those games are gimmies. I think they “could” be 8-2, but I wouldn’t be that confident. If they do reach 8-2, it will be because Tom is playing well.
  15. Hey man, as a 33 year old who is losing his hair pretty rapidly, I would gladly pay for hair plugs if I could afford it. Don’t hate.
  16. I mean, there are like 18 QB’s making more than him. He played well before his major injury. People were concerned he’d never be able to play again. He came off the bench this year and was very efficient with the ball. He’s paid like an average starter. That doesn’t seem like a reach to me.
  17. No sense for Carolina with Cam in house, of the deal worth makes no sense? I actually think $21M per is fair value.
  18. First I understand where you are coming from given Diggs history of drama. But really we traded enough draft capital to move from 22 to 18. It’s really not that crazy. And really if Diggs misbehaves, we should still have enough talent to see if Josh is the long term solution even if we have to part ways with Diggs in 2 years.
  19. So now that TB is a Panther, does that mean he might end up a Bill someday?
  20. Does anybody kind of hope that Fitz goes to replace Brady to complete his tour of the AFCE?
  21. Thats a concern for me too. No excuses for a massive leap in the passing game this year. But that’s a wait and see/cross that bridge when I get to it sort of problem. We should be excited and expect a huge leap in production when we line up with Diggs, Brown, and Beasley. If mot it seems like we are still in a great spot cap and/or draft wise to make some moves in FA or the draft in regards to resigning Josh, trading up, or picking up a guy if there is one available.
  22. Theres a possibility the declined a first from a team that took them to OT in the playoffs for a second in the NFC.
  23. I’d rather have up’d the ante on Hopkins and thrown a first, but Diggs is a very good player. We will know what we have in Allen by year end. Diggs, Brown, Beasley is a very good group of receivers.
