Deshaun Watson To Patriots Rumours Begin To Swirl

Where do I sign? -
You are welcome to halve it. $25M is still generational wealth gained in interest yearly. Josh Allen and Mitch Morris have donated higher percentages of their net worth than TP to help his own employees. Mark Cuban is paying his employees. Drew Brees is donating $5M. Every other NHL owner is paying their employees. Richard Bronson has announced a 15% executive pay cut and a hold on all executive bonuses. That is the standard. Pegula is not some worldly businessman in the hospitality industry. He owns a restaurant and staffs a hockey arena. He may have financial interests globally, but none of them in hospitality. It is not apples to apples, and the Hilton and Marriott are coming under fire. TP has a restaurant and an NHL arena where he employs maybe a couple hundred people. Hilton employs 170,000 people alone. As much as you want to reserve judgement for saying TP is treating his staff like popo, please refrain from saying he has done anything good other than a $1.2M tax right off rather than pay his staff because you can't prove that either.

Bills trade for Diggs - jw no discussions on a restructure
Mango replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is actually mildly concerning to me. In this day and age and the mentality of the WR position in the NFL, I am actually surprised he hasn’t mentioned his new home directly on social media. Still posts almost daily, but nothing really about being pumped to be a Bill. Maybe I am just anxious from the quarantine. -
Sorry, normally I quote, but I was on my mobile and already started to reply and got lazy. Ha. Nobody expects Bob of Bobs deli to sell his house for his cashier. And nobody is asking Pegula to do that either. If he has a Billion dollars, which he has more, interest is 50M per year at 5%. So if he has 300 employees at the arena, and 100 at 716. Say they’re all making an average of $15 per hour (they don’t) and all work 40 hours per week (they don’t) It would cost him 960k to shut down for a month. Less than 2% of his interest collected. Instead he gave 1.2M for additional tax deductions on top of the deductions he’ll take for declining business and declining property value (almost every major corporation does this). Plus the tax 57M tax break he gets on the harbor center itself. The point is, big boys like Mark Cuban in these moments shouldn’t be the exception, they should be the standard. And we should stop pretending like Billionaires are dealing in comprehensible money that any of us can wrap our heads around. On a yearly basis he receives generational wealth in interest. At the very least he could pay out earned PTO with the change he finds in his couch cushion.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Somebody referred to holding the Pegula’s to a different standard than the rest of the “industry”. Does this mean hospitality? How many restaurant owners would love to pay their staff but can’t? Or are you referring to the NHL where the owners are paying the staff for games missed?

Deshaun Watson To Patriots Rumours Begin To Swirl
Mango replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Situation 1. Not in a million years did this happen. National rumors of trading your franchise QB without so much as a text message to check in on that, positive or negative. There is no owner, CEO, President, etc. who are not following up on this without some communication, with a follow up summarizing what was said if it was not already via email Situation 2. Also never going to happen. Any ownership that has already knocked this down has done so in writing. This would not only be a career ending decision, but would also probably result in a civil suit that would leave BOB and his family homeless. -

Just to clarify. The hypothetical for this is that, rumors have been circulating for a few weeks/day/whatever about HOU trading Watson to NE. and either: 1. Ownership has not broached the subject (which would be wild) with BOB, but would be so upset if it in fact did happen, if they could have any legal recourse? or 2. Ownership has smacked this down, and BOB goes ahead and does this behind their back? Can ownership then veto or cancel this trade? -

Just a thought. If this rumor is swirling on a BB forum, I would guarantee it has made it to the owner by now. Any inkling of this going down has most likely already been approved or smacked down at this point. -

Unpopular opinion alert Honestly, I will be pissed if this happened and Buffalo did not at leastt inquire. Josh might be better down the line, but Watson is a stud right now at a similar age. This is a SB team with Watson right now. I would trade Josh and a 1st in a heart beat. -

Josh Allen "Prove it" Season In Year 3
Mango replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, if Josh threw 100 passes and Dak threw 100 passes, Josh would have one more drop (7) than Dak (6)over those passes. 2 more drops over 200 passes, 3 more drops over 300 more passes etc. So Josh's receivers drop about 1 more pass every 3rd games than Dak's do. But please continue to condescend the board. -
I agree with this. I like Cam. The person and the QB. Is he great no, but he’s had a very good career. Honestly I don’t know what, if any situation, would allow him to come in and be named the starter tomorrow. Not that he isn’t better than some options, just what teams would do it. Buffalo could handle him with strong leadership from SM. Given his playing style, nobody would be surprised if Cam has to play a few games. Cam can get his body right for a season. Show some flashes and be on to his next chapter.

Dude, I was thinking the same thing! Italics and lightning bolts in the font.

Dude, haven’t you ever been to a Bills game where we put up 19 points (our average) and lose and people say “yeah but did you see how many TD’s per throw we scored, it’s basically a tie” -

Ummmm....that was the Stills Tunsil trade with Houston. That is Houstons original pick. So yes, they were a better team than us last year. And yes, that is how that draft works. It ranks everybody's overall season, and then you pick worst to best. -

Dude, my response was to YOUR POST. YOU gave the ranking and sourcing of T-21. Not me. I was speaking to YOUR point and giving it context. I even adjusted the post for you to say comparable games started. It literally changes nothing about the point. Very unsure if you troll purposefully to get a reaction or if you are gaslighting. -

Oh cool, you really got me, everything is invalid now. You’re so smart and I am just a dumb-dumb. The Jets game was trash. Lets just call it 15 and literally nothing changes about the point being made. Not a single QB below Allen on that list started 16 games. Brisset and Trubisky got close with 15 which is basically the same as Josh if you toss out the last Jets game. Mind you Brisset was their back up until right before the season started and was just replaced in Indy with Rivers. Chicago just traded for Foles for competition. Those are literally the best guys he was ahead of who had lots of playing time. You could throw in Darnold and Stafford but they only played 13 and 8 games respectively. Fixed it for you. It is totally possible I misunderstood the post from @John from Riverside. I just read it as, his production is fine because you have to consider his legs, when the OP was making a point to talk about passing/scoring efficiency with his arm in regards to contract extensions. -

I don’t disagree. But it has no value in a conversation about Allen improving as a passer. Just because he can run doesn’t mean that he doesn’t need to improve at the most important part of his position. Running well and tough doesn’t mean he can keep being doo doo at throwing the ball consistently. I think it’s a fair ask regardless of his production with his legs. -

A QB’s first job is to pass the ball. Running is an additional value but absolutely not a replacement value. I love Josh running, but bringing up running doesn’t really take away from his need to improve as a passer first and foremost. -

That was my post. There are 10 teams drafting after us. So we are not top 10. We averaged 19 points a game last year. We are top 5 on the defensive side of the ball. The only thing keeping us out of being in the upper echelon conversation is offensive efficiency, consistency, and scoring. If we don’t do that, we will continue to be on the outside of that conversation. -

I don't get the problem here. It is how I play Madden. Draft a guy every few years. Flip Flop them on the depth chart here and there as starters. Keeps their stats down, but they still get better, it keeps their cost pretty low when I re-sign them as early as possible. After resigning I put up some huge numbers and trade them away for a haul of picks. Then, rinse and repeat! Are you saying this won't work in the NFL? -

A few things here: 1. There were some just criticisms of this team last year that left them our of firmly being considered a top 10 team. Soft schedule, ability to put points on the board consistently, can the defense keep up with a top offense. 2. 10 other teams pick after the Bills this year. So it is 11th. They are picking 11th because (seen above) The offense had a number of misfires in the 2nd half where they couldn't put points on the board and the defense could not stop a high powered Houston offense in the second half. 3. This one is more philosophical, but I really don't put a ton (although some) stock in the idea "Top 10" in the NFL somehow means you are elite. There are only 32 teams. You are in the top 1/3rd, which is good but there is a lot of variance. What if you were a top 10 sales rep at your company? Sounds great, but the difference between being a top 10 rep at Johnson and Johnson where they have 1000's of reps is much different than being top 10 at your local car dealership where maybe there are 30-40. I get it, these guy are already in the 99th percentile at what they do in their sport. But they aren't competing at those levels anymore. -

A better job putting up points. If Singletary is the player we hope, if JA is the player we hope, adding Diggs, Brown, and Beasley should get us into or very close to the top 10 in scoring 25ish points per game (up from 19). I think asking for about 230-240 yards through the air per game is reasonable, right in the Cousins, Fitz range. I am not going to jump into QBR, 300 yard games, or completion percentage. If he can throw for about 235 per game, and we can score one more touchdown per game, the rest of the numbers will follow. Just for perspective, my ask isn't crazy in regards to rankings. 20th in yards per game and 12th in points per game. It is a low bar, but I think that is all the output this offense needs to put the Bills firmly in the conversation as a top 10 team. -
Would you keep the HC\GM combo if Allen doesn't work out.
Mango replied to downunderbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It depends on how prepared they are for the replacement. Is there a quality replacement on the roster that could get them through a stretch like an Andy Dalton? Do they trade to the top of the draft to nab a guy? Or does it just become Barkley? I like McBeane, but they have also had some missteps in trying to upgrade some position groups. Leaving out recent signings because we have not seen it play out. - DB's- Tre is a stud, and what they did with Hyde and Poyer is great. Depth is lacking. We also devoted resources to replacing an already strong group (Gilmore and Darby) it was not necessary. Whiffed on Vontae Davis. We will see how Norman plays out. - DL- Hughes, was here before. Star is meh and on what was a big contract at the time. Shaq was here. Harry is injured. Trent has not been good. Jordan Philips was a good pick up for us. - LB- I like Milano and Edmunds. They aren't there yet, but when they are both on they are exciting. Group needs to be rounded out but all in all a good job. - WR- Beasely and Brown are great additions for the group. KB and Zay were bad. -OL- Not a great group, just a meh group. Losing Wood and Richie were tough and we did a poor job of preparing protection for all we invested in our QB in year one. -TE- was bad now is better but not great. -QB- Josh is electric- but this thread is assuming that he tops out as electric and stops showing improvement. They also went into a season with Peterman as their No. 1
