  1. Meh Cassel ™️®️ Credit where credit is due my friend.
  2. He’s sort of like Cassel. Just Meh Barkley. if you can upgrade, fine. We probably won’t take a rookie high enough in the draft to replace him year one. If you can upgrade in FA, cool. If he’s still the back up, whatever...
  3. That tends to happen when @GoBills808 shows up. ?
  4. Remember when Chris Kelsey was the favorite whipping boy around here? The guy made it to the top 40. I want Spyder Harrison do read this list for me on an NFL films special.
  5. So mark you down as a pay what it takes for Watson then? Nobody said anything bad about Josh in the thread. I think Russell Wilson is better than Josh Allen, that doesn't mean Josh sucks. Hell, if Russ were on the market at the same time we had to extend Josh, I would say the same thing, something to think about. It is something that EVERY.SINGLE.GM. should think about should the option arise. It isn't like the ask is, "Would you pay Tannehill top 10 money and let Josh walk".
  6. While I think Josh could be a few spots higher, I thought he was fair with his quick blurb. Nothing terrible. Basically just said, "a bunch of great tools, I am not sure he will ever be able to put them all together at an elite level. I am happy to take the L if I am wrong". Kyler is a head scratcher to me. He played well as a rookie, better than I thought he would. But 6 is high for having 3 other other entrenched starters on their rookie contracts. Baker seemed high as well. I think all 3 belong around the Darnold mark.
  7. I think he meant try and get some value for Allen from a different franchise AND pursue Watson in FA.
  8. AFAIK you can’t franchise after the 5th year option. I could be wrong
  9. It is a hypothetical, get over it dude. I didn't knock, Allen, Beane, or McD here. There was literally no complaint about anybody. It is a light-hearted "what if" situation that also lines up with a decision on taking the option on our (currently trending upwards) QB. I think there are MAYBE 5 teams that shouldn't be having this discussion internally if that situation comes to fruition. That number is probably closer to 3. Just to summarize, would you bid on Watson or not in this situation?
  10. Literally the first link on google. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001108258/article/nfl-qb-value-rankings-who-do-you-want-most-at-current-cost
  11. If you put a gun to my head today and said re sign Josh at 25M or DW at 40M, I think I would still go DW.
  12. This is where I am at. Josh may be "the guy", but I would take Watson at 40M than Allen at 30M. It isn't necessarily a knock on Allen, there are just only a few situations in the league where this would not be a MAJOR upgrade.
  13. COVID had me thinking. With all the trade rumors and twitter posts about Watson in Houston, I have a gut feeling he would rather see FA than re sign there (but who knows I guess). The Texans would be foolish to not take the 5th year option. If he hits FA in 2 years, would you rather get into a bidding war and pay him $40M per (guessing 2022 value) or keep moving forward with Allen, taking his 5th year option, to an eventual extension?
  14. The country shouldn’t see a recession every 10 years or so. The problem is the economy has been broken for a long time now, and the 2008 bank bail out was a band aide that didn’t actually provide a fix to anything. We just hit the reset button on a flawed system. Maybe a better topic for PPP. Ha
  15. There are a lot of expectations when you have to block for future HOF’er Mike McCoy!
  16. Yeah, well unemployment went up by about 10M people in 14 days, with no signs of stopping. Adding that to our current unemployment rate puts at just under 10%. Those are 2008 numbers. Next week we will be at 1982 numbers. It took the country years to bounce back from those events. People are affraid of the upfront cost of logistics when the long term loss is actually much more detrimental.
  17. Dude, the women brought in about $1M more in revenue in 2018 than the Mens team. They are also at the top of their field internationally. There isn’t a special NGB for the men and another for the women. It all goes into the same pot and is managed by the same board of directors. Your point about losing to a HS team is dumb. It’s a Junior National Team camp/squad. There are dozens of sports where these camps would put together a team of HS kids that would be ranked in the top 20 in the NCAA.
  18. You probably hated Tommie Smith and John Carlos.
  19. The ‘Personal social grievance’ that you keep referencing (and think should only be addressed in their own time) is people of color trying to bring light to racial inequalities and injustices.
  20. Being treated differently because of the color of your skin has nothing to do with income. Also Frederick Douglas ended up being pretty wealthy. So were his complaints and views no longer valid?
  21. Who drives more revenue to USA Soccer? The mens team or the womens team? You can only compete against who shows up. Your point that if the women want the same pay as men, they should play in the mens league is absurd. But I bet you already knew that.... They also don;t play in "totally distinct leagues" They are governed domestically by their NGB, USA Soccer, who manages the entire budget for both teams. USA Soccer then rolls up to FIFA, who manages international competition for both women and men. There is nothing distinct about these leagues.
  22. Also almost every America could name a women’s team athlete from the last 20 years. Mia Hamm, Rapino, Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan. Brandy Chastain, Hope Solo, Akers (forgetting first name)Carli Lloyd; Julie Ertz, etc. That’s literally off the top of my head. Literally if it wasn’t for women like that, the men would NEVER even be in a situation where the National Governing Body is basically betting against you with money that the women’s teams has generated.
  23. Yeah, I agree. Dance, Monkey, Dance! I definitely side with the guys who look more like me, and make waaaay more money to pay the guys all that money to just play a game....and generate Billions in revenue and profit. SO MUCH ANGER!!!
  24. I believe Merriman, Mitchell, and Dockery were in the Brandon and/or Levy Era. But I get the point.
