The Houston game is a bit iffy because Houston has clinched. But otherwise Pittsburgh and Denver will almost certainly have something to play for and KC will get their best shots. Mahomes missing this week and losing to Houston sets the Bills up nicely. I think Pittsburgh can beat KC at home with or without Mahomes.

Not just targets, I think his snap count was super low.
-
I am not sure I saw him on the field once.

I also thought that through the first 3 quarters or so we were in position to end drives early or TFL but there were a number missed tackles/opportunities. Where as the Rams we seemed to have just gotten smoked. Cam Lewis was abused today. I know. Special Teams and all. But also….no.

12/15/24 Week 15 Bills @ Lions Game Post Game Thread

2 things: 1. Did I miss something about Cooper? I’m not sure I saw one snap. 2. Why did it take 3.5 quarters to get Williams on the field? Spector does little for me. -
I don’t think it’s been all Josh all year. But the last two weeks have been. Sometimes your all star QB needs to be an all star and we’ve gotten that. I think the defense will find their feet again.

I think “high” is a relative term. -

The Elam thing is so weird. I don’t get it. He’s played between “OK/Meh/Fine” and “Pretty Well” since being drafted. This camp he was reported to be playing as well as anybody. I’m really high on Ingram and fairly low on Lewis, but Elam not getting the nod would be nutty to me. -

Might be pedantic but I think we’ve gotten more value than his contract by a pretty large amount. He’s getting (cap number) $1.6M (2024), $2.3M, and $2.575 this year and the next 2. He’s well out playing his contract. But there’s no real reason to move on, and upgrading will cost us at least 2x what we’re paying now. -
Jadeveon Clowney. ODB was at least a really good receiver before he busted his ACL....twice. But yes, he is all hype these days.

Pegula Interview on new limited partners
Mango replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not to hijack the thread but this team would still suck of it had McJesus. The overall problem with the Sabres is Terry's stupid leadership structure. it works with the Bills because McBeane came in as a unit with a prior working relationship But nobody really has any defined roles and Terry just picks sides because everybody rolls up directly to him. The same shirt happened in his first few years with the Bills. Terry struck gold with the McBeane tandem then again with Allen. He is trying to recreate that with the Sabres to some extent. He clearly recognizes that part of the current magic in OP is because everybody is on the same page. But unfortunately "the same page" is a bunch of unqualified yahoos in Terry himself, Forton, and Adams. During the 49ers game the panned to Terry in his box where he was taking notes on the depth chart. I worry that he is fancying himself a football man the same way he considers himself a hockey man. Splitting up McBeane and bringing in a new person to go to Pegula directly is something I worry about. TL;DR: Terry's formula is broken, he just accidentally got it right once. But he is running both franchises the same way he ran them with Darcy, Ted Black, Botts, Murray, Russ Brandon, Doug Whaley, Rex Ryan, Ralph Krueger, Ted Nolan, Pat Lafontaine, etc. McBeane have found a way to make it work despite ownership. It is a masterclass. -
Pouring rain helps.

The issue is that both orgs runs a flat management structure, which means anybody brings Terry anything and he is the arbiter. It works for the Bills because McBeane came in together with a working relationship. That can all change the moment a brand new person enters the equation.

I don't disagree, but lets not forget what happened to the Charges post Shottenheimer. They never recovered. Allen is better than Rivers, but they had a QB and the team spiraled. Also Pegula, I have no faith in Pegula.

I don't understand this from either side. The college game is so heavily reliant on recruiting and vibes. Belichick doesn't seem like he is all that capable of being a great recruiter (other than name/resume) and he certainly doesn't seem to be a vibes guy inside the facility.

So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14
Mango replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought we were the benefactor of a lot of ticky tack calls that kept drives alive. Way more so than calls we lost out on. Somebody I was watching the game at one point laughed and said "I guess we are getting Chiefs treatment tonight". I did really like that the DB's challenged the refs to call DPI/holding. We got away with a ton of it. -
Fire McD and Hire Belichek after we lose AGAIN in the playoffs

I wanted to give a laughing emoji, but honestly it wasn’t worth you getting a meaningless internet point. -
Nothing to do with starting. He has been a healthy scratch. Not having a backup corner for the perimeter dressed on game day is strange.

Where was the defensive adjustment on Puka Nakua?
Mango replied to 26TrapDraw's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought Ingram actually did do better than Taron by a pretty wide margin. Granted different points in the game. Inside, outside, whatever. The reason I give Elam a shot at some point in this game is to see if he can man up against Nacua and at least slow down the freight train. As a whole I thought our corners were extra grabby last night. Something we don't often see. I kind of liked it. We get torched by KC in large part because their corners are super grabby and dare the officials to call it. Good practice for us as we head into the playoffs. -

Agreed. I have been really high on Ingram. I just like his style of game. Bigger physical DB. An aside, i felt bad for both Douglas and Rapp on that play. Rapp has taken some heat for too much friendly fire and dirty hits on the other team. He legit pulled up and tried not to hit Douglas. Tough end result to add to his list of these events when this one was definitely not like any of the others. -

Even though Milano was better that the SF and not a major liability this game, this is exactly why I wanted Williams back in there while we were getting gashed. As a unit, these guys have been moving together really well all year. Milano looked like "the new guy" last night. -

It wasn't just "the defense" that got smoked by Nacua, Taron Johnson was abused. Surprisingly Ingram manned up better against him late in the game. The big gaffe is having Elam a healthy scratch. We struggled in man but we had our best man corner in sweats. I know Cam Lewis is versatile and special teams and all that. But I would rather have Ingram fill Lewis' role and have Elam available on game day. Crazy to me that the camp reports had him in a very close battle to start and he is a healthy scratch. I don't think he is a world beater, but Elams skill set is a tool this team needs in its tool box on game day. This game is a great example of that.
