I rarely check the page during the game. Maybe if it’s out of hand, or I am curious about a call or Route. But almost ever. He wasn’t sharp all game. He was sharp for a good part of it, but not all of it. 4 TD’s and 400+ yards are what we all hoped he would be. So why would I come here to argue anybody? Sounds like we are on the same page this week? (Also, I hosted the game at my house this week. Watched the game outside on a 150” projector screen. It was awesome. Next time give me a heads up and I’ll make time for you and tell the friends to stay home)

Huh? I didn’t like the way Allen has played in the past. So far into 2020, he IS the offense. He’s playing much better. I have never said he couldn’t. I’ve just said he never had. He has been an animal so far this season. I don’t have any issues with saying that.

New kicking coach/consultant confirmed?

This Bills team has struggled to close out games they should win handily, until they do it regularly I am not giving them a pass. Great game Sunday though. Definitely a very good step for the O.

Bills still leading the league in 4 WR sets by wide margin
Mango replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good. I think we’ve been clamoring to spread the field a bit more. Then add in Diggs and the praise Davis was getting in camp, it makes sense. If we can do a better job of hitting the receivers in stride and rack up some more YAC, we’ll all be happy with the offense. That said, Singletary needs to get much better at pass protection. There was one play last week where instead of chipping the LB before heading into the flat, he actually side steps him and gave him a free run at the QB. Resulted in a sack. Our RB’s are shifty, not fast, so when things get tight at the line, I think they struggle to hit the whole before it closes. -

Congrats to Thurman - OSU Ring of Honor
Mango replied to Rochesterfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jesus. I lived in OKC for a few years and have been to games in Stillwater. People regularly wear Thurman Bills Jerseys on Saturdays for game day. Lots of them. I just assumed he was on their ring of honor. I am shocked that 1. He isn’t already up there, and 2. I didn’t pick up on it before. -
Kyler Murray ran the ball 13 times, only got hit once
Mango replied to Penfield45's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you’re conflating running style and avoiding contact. Just because Josh doesn’t run like Kyler, Lamar, etc. doesn’t mean he needs to be taking a shoulder from a LB or DB every time he stops. It’s not wild to suggest that Josh should be sliding or stepping out of bounds on 80% of his runs without somebody jumping in and saying “WeLl He IsNt KyLeR mUrRaY aNd He NeVeR WiLl bE” -
Sunday's work attire🔥 for Buffalo at Miami.
Mango replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dig our uniforms in general, they’re clean the cleanest in the league. I will say I dig the solid colors more than the mixed. But I get it. Blue/Blue and White/White are my two favorites by far. I think the Bills even tried to go red top, white bottoms, at one point, and I still preferred the Red/Red. Or maybe somebody just did a mock here? I don’t know. I am just rambling. It’s that time of year where I am just waiting for the next Sunday for 16 weeks. Everything else is just killing time. -
Lamar Jackson pulled a Josh Allen and no one said a word.
Mango replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s not a narrative it’s a commentary based on careers/history. Lamar is the league MVP. Mahommes is the SB MVP and an absolute stud. Of course they get less criticism for bad throws compared to a guy who has never completed 60% of his passes in a single season at any level. Who also led an NFL offense to a whopping 19 points per game. If/when Allen can start to string together multiple dominant performances and bring his floor up, you will see him get more credit. Until then, that Houston lateral and missing Brown in the EZ wide open are just heaped on to a pile of 100 other bad throws, decisions, etc. We all operate this way. The guys who make less mistakes/perform better at work get more slack when they make mistakes than the guys who seem to commit them regularly. I don’t really get the point. Events don’t happen in a vacuum. -
Bills not coming out for National Anthem
Mango replied to DE Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL, as a whole, has dictated to their franchises that it’s allowable. So do you wish that the league managed players like your employer manages you, or do you wish that your employer gave you the ability to take a stand like the NFL does its players? -
Just to note.HOF WR and former Bill, James Lofton made that comment. Just to provide some color to the “whoever was calling that game” Not calling it a bad throw. That’s probably what Allen saw. I think the point is the result of the better throw was incredibly valuable comparably.

Our YAC was actually pretty bad yesterday. Diggs had 10 YAC yesterday total on 8 catches. Brown lead the team with 28 YAC on 6 catches. Neither are good. It is still very much lacking in our offense. It’s been one of my larger criticisms of Allen the last two years. He makes things difficult on his receivers to both make the catch and make a ply after it. Granted this is a one week sample size so I have not jumped on it. He deserves a chance to prove he has gotten better this offseason. But I thought it was important to point out that yesterday showed no improvement on that front as you implied. Edit: wanted to add, Josh was better yesterday. Some of that is his improvements. Some of that is surrounding cast. Just was talking about this issue in particular.

All part of the master plan from BB. Lose Brady, bring back JG on the cheap after he flames out in SF. Pats get their next system QB for another 10 years. FML

Cap Space - Tre White Contract is on the books!
Mango replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your last part nails it. It doesn’t just put some teams in cap purgatory. It puts nearly the entire league outside of a team or two. Which means there are just players who are out of work. And you basically set franchises back years for the sake of 1 years worth of maintaining the same profit $$$ as 2019. I think the NFLPA already approved the $175M floor. I could be wrong. We haven’t seen the specifics in how we get there, which I am sure are mapped out pretty specifically. My guess is it is based on a shortened season. If we can get all 16 games and the playoffs in, the cap is going to stay the same or increase $5-10M. If we get 6 games and no playoffs, we are at $175M. A lot of this will depend on how well the players and teams do with their internal bubbles. If each team can do as well as the NBA with one big bubble, we should be good to go. If NFL players treat this like the MLB they will effing with their own pay. I would guess/hope the NFLPA is shoving this narrative down players throats every day/week. -
Cap Space - Tre White Contract is on the books!
Mango replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is where I am at. I would guess it stays stagnant or close to it at worst. TV money covers 100% of the cap +$60M more. The only reason I can think of as to why the cap would drop so much is that owners are trying to maintain pure profit $$$ so they are cutting cost through salaries. It’s a bad business decision for owners IMO. -
I tell my athletes something similar, “first half is temporary, second half is permanent”. Should note, I coach a “racing sport” so it is slightly different.

A Few Thought about the Jets game, in no particular order
Mango replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The big upset for me this week with Josh's running (outside of taking too many hits) is that he was our only consistent threat on the ground. The RB room was beyond tough defense terrible today. Unsure if it is the OL, or maybe it is just some color as to why DS was not used more often last year, or maybe this is what you get with slow RB's and tough DL's in the NFL. Either way, it was attrocious. If you take out the "long" runs from Singletary (12 yards) and Moss (7 Yards), their numbers are: Singletary: 8 carries- 18 years- 2.25 ypa Moss- 8 carries- 4 yards- 0,5 ypa Woof -
I agree with this. I have been critical of Allen, but Darnold just looks broken. And Baker is too much of a prick to be resilient.

How not to protect your blue chip franchise QB
Mango replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Singletary did this. Instead of chipping him, he actually moved out of the way and Josh got smacked. I was pretty furious. -
Brian Daboll is on the hotseat starting TOMORROW
Mango replied to Penfield45's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The offense has a lot of expectations this year. If they don’t meet them, Daboll will be the first to go, regardless of blame (a lot on of it will be his). That’s understandable. But make no mistake, if Daboll gets let go this year, Josh also probably had bad year. Which puts significant pressure on year 4. -

And all of those dirty cops go drink beers after work, or on weekends with good cops. And their bosses and union reps either hide or keep their written up behavior secret. -
CBS All Access / VPN experiment failed

That didn’t occur to me. I live in Saratoga. I coached for a while and one of my athletes is in med school, so I had her sign up for the student version for like 90 bucks. DTV told me I couldn’t get the streaming version, I had to get them as my cable provider. -

I think Watson has played “OK” tonight. His guys have been covered well. He’s had pretty good touch and ball placement. KC’s secondary is playing well. Surprisingly well. Houston is missing Hopkins.
