  1. Mahomes clearly shooken up after that hit. Nobody even checked on him. NFL doing their best to scramble a Mahomes eggs this year. RIP Mahomies brain.
  2. It looks like Poyer does a lot of backing up for Edmunds in both the pass and run game. It’s a big part of why we struggle with multi dimensional teams like KC, Indy, and Tennessee. I agree with another poster that said you keep Edmunds because the chances of upgrading aren’t great. Give him his 5th year and some more time, but I wouldn’t extend him. At least not for more than 10M per year. If Milano could stay healthy (snap count, not games played), this decision would be a no brainer.
  3. That is fair. I am just saying, why make it more complicated than it needs to be. Houston will need a replacement. Unless the Raiders are trying to do right by Carr and not send him into that shirt hole.
  4. If Houston is trading Watson, they are now a QB needy team. Why not just package Carr in the trade rather than get a haul, just to flip it. Carr and a 2 x 1st rounders and call it a day.
  5. Could you imagine how unstoppable this offense would be with Gibran Hamden slinging the rock to dudes like Da’Rick and Duke. Throw Christian Wade in the backfield, can you you say super bowl? Beane, asleep at the wheel again...
  6. Sorry, I need a sarcasm font.
  7. Darnold for a 3rd confirmed
  8. Dad? Is that you? Quick, if this is really you, what’s my favorite football team?
  9. A page right out of the CJ Spiller/Sean Peyton playbook!
  10. I noticed this too. I would have to go back and see if he was actually overpursing or getting bumped off by the OT. I was thinking it might be the reason that they had him line up at RDE and Hughes at LDE so often. Somebody had to keep contain on Mahomes front side because he is a good enough runner. But I didn't get why they didn't just dress Murphy in that case. Granted it is waaaaay more important with Lamar, but it worked well, and Hughes had a great day doing it that way. Either way I did notice Epenesa seemed to be in the backfield quite a bit, just never making a play or getting his hands on the QB.
  11. I would argue that outside of Allen, and a couple other players who "might" develop into that, that is basically what we got out of Beane's drafts as well. These are picks from rounds 1-4 by Beane. Not bad, don't get me wrong. But not really any huge impact players in that bunch. Epenesa Moss Davis Oliver Ford Singletary Knox Edmunds Phillips Taron Johnson
  12. What a weird year for scouting and drafting. There has not really been much ability to watch anybody play. Most college football was cancelled this year. Seems like this would be another good draft to trade for a player you like already in the league rather than college kid. Much like the Diggs move.
  13. I don't think we need to have a balanced attack like an Indy, Tennessee, etc. We just need the ability to kill you with the run game if you don't respect it. A guy like Fournette (football ability, not the person) would go a long way. We can make up these kinds of plays with passing concepts too. We seem to never put Josh behind center for a super quick 3 step drop. I don't get it.
  14. The problem is, we didn’t ride the horse that got us there, and that’s Josh. We needed Josh in rhythm AND to get hot. The team needed him to walk out there with his balls in a wheelbarrow and let everything else fall into place. Instead we played conservative zone coverage in D and tried to impress with our run game that never works. Part of me thinks the trying to force the run early was because we knew our WR were banged up. We had 4 beat up WR starting, one with a broken effing leg. McKenzie has proven to be effective in the slot, and Stills should have at least dressed for some spot duty, if, you know, you noticed your receivers couldn’t get open. I would have made Robert’s a healthy scratch. Roberts is only going to flip the game against KC if the rest of the team is firing on all cylinders. By the middle of Q2 the writing was on the wall. We should have put the game on Josh’s shoulders and immediately started with the QB power runs and get him rolling. I know everybody is afraid of the Houston game. The other option is what we got out of him in Indy. I think Whaley is being a bit kind here by only calling out the conservative concepts in this game. The management and use of the WR corps was just as bad. I like McD a ton. I think he might be the best coach we have ever had. But the staff lost this one before the coin toss. I am not going to call out any players based on this game alone. I have thoughts on who should stay, go, be demoted, traded, extended, etc. this year, but the KC game didn’t sway me at all. (Except for Yeldon. Watching him block and catch out of the backfield, I think he’s the best RB on the roster)
  15. I’m rooting for Brady and it has nothing to do with the Pats. I have no interest in Mahomes winning his second SB in a row. The hype train is already up to 11. I don’t want to deal with it for another 365 days. PM gets so hyped it makes me hate him, or at least root against him at this point. 2021 is a weird year man. I’m over here hoping Brady is my Batman.
  16. Who is his replacement? What does it cost? If we draft his replacement, which position group are you OK not drafting in rounds 1-3?
  17. So when people ask if “Josh will take a hometown discount”. Stuff like this is the only way it works I think. Josh wouldn’t take less to “sign other players” but he might say, I’ll take 38M, give the other 4m to Diggs and lock him up with me.
  18. I think we should always be using McKenzie more. I think he could be much better than sort of the gimmicky role we consistently use him as.
  19. I have been curious of Edmunds and playing outside. We play so many 2LB sets that moving Edmunds outside has him replacing Milano. But is Edmunds better than Milano at that role? But Edmunds and Milano are both so athletic. Could we play more 3 LB sets with a better MLB and use Milano as our big nickel rather than trying to get a safety out? The biggest problem with that now is that Klein is no nearly athletic enough, but he does play well downhill.
  20. I thought the game was called “OK”. They let the guys play. I was most upset with the no call in grabbing JA face mask and the punch thrown. Those two calls are just thinks you can’t “let them play” through. To a certain extent some of that is on the staff. If we’re getting mugged out there, why continue to play such soft coverage? After a series or two it looks like they’re going to let you get chippy so make the adjustments. I would actually prefer the inverse. Come out and dare the refs to throw the flags and see what they’re going to call, and dial it back if needed.
  21. Agree on a lot of this. I would like a better RB/running game like Fournette in TB. But it isn’t a huge gripe for me (even though I’ve never been high in Singletary). What grinds my gears is the lack of attempt to try and navigate it with a quick passing game. I don’t mean Josh taking the underneath stuff when available. I mean back the defense off with Josh actually behind center. 3 step drop and let it go. We almost never see JA with a 3 step drop and let it go. It’s always 5-7 steps, wait a little for the routes to develop. Then either chuck it, hit the underneath, or take off. Josh has been great most of the year, dialing up the quick passing game is on Daboll...ESPECIALLY if you don’t have the run game. You have to back the LB up and stop them from just coming downhill all the time.
  22. I’ve been super surprised at the Daboll love this year. This place was ripping that guy a new butthole every week in 2018/19. That said Romo was pretty critical of the coaching staff on both sides of the ball as the game went on.
  23. Proud of this team and proud of this season. 1. We were so ill prepared for this KC team, it’s almost baffling. 2. Really hoping this isn’t our version of the Rams or Eagles. 3. I am at a point where the hype machine for KC is turned up so high, that I’m split on who I want to see win, KC or TB. I don’t want another year of Mahomes being the prodigal son.
  24. I just don’t get it. Why would any prefer the Jets? They don’t really have much talent anywhere. In what world does a top 5-10 QB look at the Jets and the Dolphins and think “yeah, NYJ is a way better set up!”
  25. Dude, did you read the OP?He asked for a DM not in the thread. I offered for a pair last night via DM. I’m still in my house, another person must have got them. So he’s probably pretty cool with the comments
