  1. I actually think this puts a target on Edmunds back to a certain extent. We haven’t gotten great play out of or LB’s as unit and largely run in a 2 LB set. I’ve seen estimates of Edmunds getting $14-ish mil. I cannot see this team paying $25M per year for the LB performance we got in 2020. Edmunds will have to make a jump or take a contract significantly cheaper than $14M per year to stay.
  2. I was a bit apprehensive of the Brown cut without trying to restructure. But it makes way more sense now. Brown never would have taken a pay cut to move enough money to Milano. As long as he stays healthy I am pumped.
  3. This is where I am at the moment. If you drop him, you also have to replace him. We already have an issue with pass rusher, Hughes is by far our most productive PR. This is not one of those cases with addition by subtraction. Keep him around, get some help on the other side, and lets go to work.
  4. I am curious as to why they did not reach out to him for a pay cut. Per the above, he said he was sort of blindsided. If it was a pure salary cap move, I would assume the FO would have tried to restructure. I am not sure, but some food for thought.
  5. Not that it is a huge deal, but I don't get letting Bojo walk. In the grand scheme of things, punters and kickers are fairly cheap. They don't provide a huge amount of savings by letting them walk. He was an asset last year, just keep the kid around for a couple 100k more.
  6. I am surprised that this thread made it to 5 pages. Gronk has said 100 times he won't play with anybody but Brady. He was never coming to Buffalo, he will play with TB or he will retire. I cannot say I blame him. He does not need the money. He doesn't need a ring, he already has a few. Brady is one of his best friends and the GOAT, there is no reason for him to try anything else.
  7. I’m actually not thrilled with the cap at the moment. I say that just taking spotrac at where they are now, $15M. We are bottom half of the league in cap space at that number, we just cut our reasonably priced and productive (pre-injury) WR2 and cannot afford to keep our OG1, RT1, and OLB1. Oh yeah, our QB is also on a rookie contract. We also have some other holes to fill, plus figure out replacements for who we are losing. I think our current space plus getting largely “meh” production out of Beanes top 100 picks in Edmunds, Oliver, Epeneza, Moss, Singletary, Ford, and Knox, may bite us in the arse.
  8. What a bummer my friend. Hope you feel better soon as we push towards the 2021 season. I hear ya. I have been hunting down some health issues for months while also losing mobility. It is rough. I joked with my significant other today, if we can get through this without any major lifetime mishap, I already have a bunch of specialists, so if something were to go wrong (again?) down the line, I don't need to wait a few months to get another appointment. My best friends MIL went to the hospital with chest pains at Christmas, she had a blood clot in her lungs, luckily on the right side and not urgently life threatening, and she still has not had an appointment with her cardiologist because she is a "new patient". I have had similar issues with getting appointments. Also, the NFL should sell a Fitz bundle with all of his jerseys. I could be convinced to waste more money
  9. He is mentally ill, not necessarily mentally weak. It’s not a free pass for being a POS, nor do I really want him here. But this is an important distinction to make.
  10. Ive been having this conversation since football is over and the sabres blow. This is kinda how I feel about Eichel. He’s great, but the Sabres need him to be Ovechkin. But that’s not him.
  11. The lack of respect for Dwayne Haskins is down right disrespectful. 😂
  12. It’s a lot more money it sounds like. 30% increase from Disney, and 2x from the networks for Sunday games. It seems the only thing left up in the air is the value of the Amazon deal and what happens with any sort of subscription, ie. Sunday Ticket. There shouldn’t be any issue with the cap making a large jump.
  13. Not all heroes wear capes.
  14. Why do you have to disrespect Melvin Fowler and Peerless Price like that?
  15. Im actually most surprised at the price difference to go to games in the same stadium, like LA and NJ. Also, we get relatively worked on concession in Buffalo. It feels like that’s been happening for a bit, but it’s gotta be pretty bad given the fact that ticket prices are so cheap.
  16. The league and the owners can easily afford to at least have a flat cap for the 2021 season without taking a major/measurable loss. They are just taking money out of the players pockets and putting it in their own. Lowering the cap is not a move required to "keep the lights on".
  17. SHOCKED at Richard Sherman projecting to get $14M AAV. That is top 10 money. Sherman is not a top 10 CB anymore. I thought he would get somewhere around $10M, but even that seemed a little high.
  18. God, could you imagine how appalled she would be if she found out about the Stanley Cup? And that’s actually just like, one trophy, that lasts forever. Not one made every year and replicas given to another 80 people. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traditions_and_anecdotes_associated_with_the_Stanley_Cup
  19. Not just against KC, but we play a lot of off coverage. Or at the very least not very much press at all. If I had to guess, we have a decent win rate at the line, but give to much cushion for completions before we can get there. DL is a major need, run stop proves that. But we still have major issues with DB depth. Tre, Poyer, and to a lesser extent Hyde, are carrying that unit on their backs.
  20. People making a big deal over this like it’s the Stanley Cup. They make like 100 SB trophies every year for the entire team.
  21. This is pretty drastic. As much as we want it to be over, Tom looked pretty good on Sunday. When you say a defense carried a Super Bowl Victory, I am thinking something closer to the 2015 Broncos where Manning completed like 50% of his passes for like 150 yards. Brady in his last 2 Super Bowls was a total of 42/64, 463 yards, 3 TD's, and 1 INT. At worst he has been efficient on two pretty good/well rounded teams. And in both games, that efficiency seems to have been the difference between rings 6/7 and no rings at all. And that stone cold efficiency/consistency is what makes Brady the GOAT. He is an accurate passer with the right stuff between the ears, who hardly ever waivers in performance. There are 100 other QB's with higher highs, that if they could hold a higher/more steady midline, would be just as good or better than TB.
  22. Political reasonings aside, I thought that the Mahomes v Brady story line was compelling enough heading into the game, at least on a macro level. Sort of, "does the old man have enough left in the tank to stop Mahomes from being King of the Hill?" I don't have the same hate for Brady in the NFC, and KC fans have become super insufferable VERY QUICKLY. Feels like they became that way overnight, where as Patriots fans at least took a few seasons to get there. The last thing I wanted was Mahomes to win on Sunday, and I am glad he got absolutely embarrassed. I will say, I do not think that largely, fans like "super teams" The NFL is not the NBA, but given the offensive firepower, KC and TB are about as close as you will get with AB, TB, Gronk, Godwin, Evans vs. Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, Watkins. I have literally zero data to support this. It just feels that way.
  23. This, he has openly said he won't play with any other QB other than Brady. He will either retire (again) all together or sign a deal in TB. Also, considering the current trajectory of WR and Kittle/Kelce contracts, a TE light Gronk with an AAV of $9M seems like a steal. The guys cap hit this year was less than Brown, Hughes, and Addison.
  24. I thought he might as well. He had a great game, but as TB took over the game, he became less of a factor/production puttered out. I thought Fournette had a bunch of great runs and was effective in the receiving game, if they kept riding him and he gotten a second TD he could very well have been deserving of it. All in all giving it to Brady was fine. You can't get the MVP to an entire unit or side of the ball. 3 TD's, 72%, no turn overs, and just 1 sack, is MVP production, especially when nobody else a super disruptive stat line.
