That was my take but he’s still around and we have a bunch of draft capital still.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Rounds 2 & 3 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)

Specifically on the outside. If Franklin is there I think you take him. Getting two big jump ball guys on the outside should let everybody feast underneath. -
Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi
Mango replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think their coverage reviews got so big so quickly they feel this pressure to be constantly pushing out content. Their content was so "information" based as in just breaking down the general responsibilities of certain coverages and basic reads that when they give an opinion or thought it has this weight of "reporting". Which leads to this "well Cover 1 says..." but they don't have the knowledge or inside line to support that kind of regular content creation. -
Bills interested in Deebo Samuel per Mike Giardi
Mango replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Samuel is a slot receiver, an inch shorter and 20 lbs lighter. Deebo is 6' 215 lbs who only takes like 17% of his snaps inside. For reference Diggs took 30% of his snaps from the slot and Curtis took nearly 70% from the slot position. They aren't even close to the same receiver. -

McAfee Draft Spectacular Show Featuring Bill Belichick
Mango replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree on the Saban/Bill show. That would be awesome. I oddly enjoy the Belichick personality, but I really enjoyed how candid he about his film review. We have sen guys early in their broadcast career like Romo take a deep dive only to dumb it down. I hope he sticks to it. He is definitely more stubborn than everybody, if anybody can it is Bill. Re: Bill and McAfee, I think he enjoyed himself. He laughed a ton and asked to be a regular on the show. It seemed to catch Pat off guard. They agreed to do a weekly Monday spot this season. I think being the straight man last night made it a reasonable show. I like Pat's daily show, but I wouldn't have stayed tuned in with them last night if not for Bill. I think they are on to something that could be a great draft show with a little fine tuning. Also the Rodgers segment was unbearable. I find him annoying in general, but sometimes entertaining in a watching a crazy person be crazy kind of way. It seemed very clear that he expects to have a lot of influence on the FO/draft. -
Totally agree. I meant manage him managing himself. The whole thing falls under him not being accountable for himself, one of, if not the most important skill for an elite athlete.

Any concern with Franklins speed?
-
Adonai Mitchell is interesting. Some of the attitude concerns seem to be linked to his lack of management of his diabetes. I’ll be curious if the Bills think they can manage that. Because if they can he’s an unbelievable athlete. For any of the film gurus on the board I am curious is Franklin plays faster than his combine time.

McAfee Draft Spectacular Show Featuring Bill Belichick
Mango replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
You asked why. The answer is McAfee is one of the most popular, if not the most popular NFL show in the world. He is on ESPN as well, but his YouTube alone did better than the NFL Network did last year. So he’s likely already beat “one of the larger panels”. You can “disagree” all you want. But it doesn’t change the viewership numbers which aren’t really an opinion. Lots of people watch McAfee. Way more people than you think. It isn’t bottom of the barrel viewership. Day in and day out it’s top of the barrel. You just hate the guy and that’s ok too. But it has nothing to do with BB. -

You’ve missed the point entirely. Those Pat Macafee numbers are bigger than most of the other sports and football shows on any other network. Get Up and First Take average about 600k per day to Pats 800k+. You hate the guy. I get it. I am not here to tell you he is the most entertaining shows. But when you ask “why isn’t he on the other networks right now?”. That’s why. Because his daily viewership is as high or higher than everybody else. Everything you like the most isn’t the most popular and that’s totally Ok. But it doesn’t make other people bums. -
Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Round 1 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
Mango replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting. I wouldn’t be mad at either. I think there is a real possibility we trade back and a small chance we even end up with 4 picks in the top 100. The cost for Higgins to Buffalo would have to be astronomical. Cincinnati, KC, and Buffalo are all in a fight for the top of the conference. Buffalo has to be a short list of no-go’s like to Diggs to KC. -

I think there’s a chance we get 4 picks in the 2nd/3rd tomorrow with a trade down from 33. At quick glance lots of teams with 2 x 2nds/3rds. -

That was my first thought. I think we can get more value for 33 tomorrow than either pick today. -

Mango replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it is a fine trade. I’m not sure it’s a good trade. But at the same time you wouldn’t apply that logic to trading Diggs to KC for a fair return. KC would have to pay a major tax. -

This. I will add that if you’re going to do it you absolutely don’t swap picks down the board. You give 28 and you get picks, multiple picks, back to you. I would feel a little better if it was - Bills give up 28 - KC gives up 32, 95, and 2025 3rd. Curious if BB thought KC was going a totally different direction? Do we just trade out of the first all together? -

And who is going to hire a new GM? Terry Pegula? Hahahaha. Might as well burn the team down at that point. -
McAfee Draft Spectacular Show Featuring Bill Belichick
Mango replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
In season McAfee averages like 800k viewers per day and 1.7M on social media clips. Pat is as big or bigger than any NFL show on tv/youtube. You don’t have to like the guy, or his show. I don’t care. But to talk about the PM Show like ianybody going on it is the bottom of the barrel is flat out wrong. If Pat isn’t the king of the football media hill he is very close to it. -

I love the fact that these guys are getting picked in the top 3 and the first thing Bill does is break down 3-5 plays on why they suck. -
